I took the bus to Bellaris university. The university campus was a sprawling complex of buildings and green spaces, nestled in the heart of the city. As the i approached the main entrance, i was struck by the grandeur of the architecture: towering columns, ornate facades, and intricate carvings that spoke to the history and prestige of the institution.

I’m cutting the time a little close, since it’s already almost two o’clock, which leaves me about four hours to track down James Cantrell’s office, top up on blood, and return to Canus’s estate in Hackney. The campus is much like any college campus, I imagine, all grey roads and red brick buildings. There’s an antique sort of feel to it, and I recognise the shapes of some of the buildings from the photos posted online over a year ago, when I was still a classics student named Aura attending university here.

Kai Graduation was creeping up like a defender I didn't see coming on a blind switch. The campus started looking different lately. The brick buildings and the quad felt smaller, like clothes you outgrew but still kept in the back of your closet. I used to think Crestwood University was the center of the universe. Now? It was just the place where I grew up. Where I found Ava.

But for now she’ll be safe especially as she and I are not associated. The main building is an old half timbered country house with a thatched roof. The former stables have been converted to training facilities and old barns are the dormitories. The campus exudes history. “Ready to go inside Maddy?” Madeline's eagerness for this part of her life to start rolls of her. Her eyes are large and sparkling with enthusiasm. She can barely stand still. We enter the house and make our way to the administrators office to get our class schedules and the keys to our rooms.

They would have been horrified by the thought, no doubt. Although it was a university, it was also a college and so much more. As such, the age range of the students was much larger than a normal university. As I walked up to the main campus, there were huge planters of wild grasses and flowers. Each one had a ledge all the way around and had students sitting on practically every inch of them, plus loads stood around in the middle too. It was so intimidating, the idea of walking directly through so many people.

The city was now her playground, and she was ready to embrace every challenge it had to offer. With a newfound sense of purpose, Maiari walked through the gates of Summerfield University. The campus was alive with activity, students moving about with textbooks in hand, laughter spilling from groups of friends, and the unmistakable hum of academia in the air. It was a world entirely different from the serene beaches of El Nido, and yet Maiari felt a sense of belonging settle within her.

A few weeks later, after all the paperwork and procedures had been taken care of, Gavriel entered the Anindira campus as a first-year student. Ricco's departure from campus caused an uproar at the school. The women who wanted to feel like Ricco's woman, even if it was only for a week, were disappointed because they did not get a seat. With Gavriel entering school, Gavin and Anindira let out a long sigh. All the excitement that had just died down after Ricco left campus, was back to life. A campus is a place where teenagers who are still unstable are looking for an identity.

There are really two gates to this campus: the one in the front, which is used primarily by students, and the one on the other side, which is used for deliveries and stuff like that. They looked confused as I left them, but I had to go. Of course, my poor friends don’t know that I’m trying to escape from someone. Alera is calling me a coward and all sorts of names for not running to claim her mate, but what sane person would do that when there’s another female clinging to his side?

The Federal University of Technology, (FUT) didn't look like a battlefield, but as I walked across the campus toward the Department of Biological Sciences, every shadow felt like a threat. The afternoon sun was heavy, the air thick with the scent of roasted maize and the distant, rhythmic thrum of a generator.
