“Leaving already?” I asked with my feet placed atop each other and my hands resting under my head.

Alex took another look in the mirror and adjusted his hair for the eight time in over three minutes.

He kept brushing his jacket, adjusting his collar and taking sniffs of his body to make sure he smelt good.

“Nervous huh?” I asked.

Alex sighed and sat down.

“It’s just crazy that he asked me out you know,” Alex smiled widely, “Did you ever clock that he was gay?” He asked.

“Before he started hanging out with us, well, mainly you, I would have sworn that he was straight”

“He looked really happy when I agreed to go out on this date with him tonight” He said.

“He really likes you. That much has always been obvious”

I was glad to see Alex this happy. Ever since his breakup with Julius and the drama that followed with Sophia, he had been really down.

His moods would shift from time to time and sometimes the sadness would sneak out in his eyes even when he smiled.

  • Teach me to sin   SEVENTY EIGHT: Darling's POV [Freedom tastes good]

The brandy burned its way down my throat, a familiar fire that did little to thaw the ice around my heart. My reflection in the dark window pane was one that I did not recognize. My mind replayed scenes of different men and women who had called me beautiful. Once a nice lady had handed me a rose on the street and told me that I was gorgeous from the inside out.I felt like I was walking on air that day and even now, I still had the flower siting pretty in a vase. I turned to it and tried to smile. It hurt to even do that now. I wondered if she would still think I was beautiful if she could see me now.I now for a fact that I wasn't. I didn't feel that way, both inside and out. On the outside, I had a swollen face, a big purpling eye, a split lip that still stung and bruises over my chest and the rest of my upper body. Each movement resulted in so much pain that I had to breathe heavily before moving again. Unfortunately for me, Tristan had taken all the medication in the house after t

  • Teach me to sin   Seventy Eight: Tristan's POV [Unlucky fella]

The cold fury that had simmered beneath my carefully constructed composure since Alex’s frantic reveal finally had a target. Thomas Rowler. The name tasted like ash. Seeing Darling, broken and bruised, had ignited something primal in me, a part of myself I’d long buried under layers of academia and respectability. "How long?" I had asked after I arrived at Darling's home that Thursday evening. He didn't meet my eyes... he couldn't. He simply kept his face down and didn't say a word. I was angry but I needed to be careful not to take it out on him. I needed to remember that he was a victim.I just couldn't understand how he could hide this from me? How I had not seen the signs? This person was supposed to be my friend, someone that I cared for. How could someone be this cruel to someone?I stooped low and lifted Darling's face so he could look at me. His left eye was positively swollen. I wanted to fucking kill the bastard. How could he? What for?"Darling....how long has this been g

  • Teach me to sin   SEVENTY SEVEN: RITA'S POV [Consequences]

''You can't just do this to me, Rita!" Toby screamed from the other end of the bedroom door, ''OPEN THE DOOR!!"I had left Halima's residence and taken a cab back to his place to get my things so I could properly be out of his life. He had arrived shortly after I had and I locked the door so he wouldn't have the chance to stop me.I didn't want to be stopped. I wanted to be out of this man's life and I wanted him out of mine."RITA! OPEN THE DOOR!"No can do, baby boy. I tossed the last of my belongings which thankfully wasn't too much and closed the box shut. God, I can't believe this was actually happening. And to think that I had given a relationship a shot after so long.I took a deep breath. It was time to leave. Pulling my box, I unlocked the door and Toby barged in before I had the chance to step out properly. His eyes widened in alarm as soon as he saw the suitcase and he held my hand before I could walk away."Rita, Rita, wait. Wait, come on. We can work this out okay. Just...

  • Teach me to sin   Seventy Six: Rita's POV [I'm done]

I was seated on the couch of Halima Jamal, the daugter of a wealthy Arabian business mogul; one of the richest in his country and the world. She was the childhood friend of Toby and he had invited me to have mid day drinks with her and her cousin, Faruk. These people were wealthy alright. I had been in plenty mansions before but boy when I say that this one took the cake and to think that it was nothing but a small, vacation home.I had my legs placed on Toby's thighs. Rather, he had placed them there himself and kept his hands on them as he spoke to his friend. Looking in from the outside one might see this as a cute romantic gesture but I knew why he was doing it. It was because of Faruk. He had mentioned on the ride here that Faruk had a wandering eye and wanted a taste of every new woman that was presented before him even if she belonged to another. He wasn't wrong. The moment that Faruk had laid eyes on me I felt like a prey under the watchful gaze of a hungry predator.Halima w

  • Teach me to sin   Seventy Five : Alex's POV [Someone hurt Darling]

I had not trusted what I had heard of Darling from Tristan but I was cautious enough not to show it. I didn't want Tristan knowing that I was nurturing seeds of distrust in my heart. He would have been very upset. So for now, all I could do was watch and wait.I knew that the questions that I had really wanted to ask were questions that only I could find out for myself. Like if he and Darling were having sex behind my back? Did he have any attraction to Darling? Was I the side piece? Was Darling the side piece?Everything that happened just helped to fuel the insecurity that I felt even more. Each time that Tristan failed to answer a call or respond to a text a bit late or casually bring Darling up. Each of those things made it harder for me to convince myself that nothing was going on.I tried to distract myself with other things but that was a lot harder than it seemed. I couldn't study, I couldn't watch a movie, shit, I couldn't even watch porn.Eventually, I decided to do the one

  • Teach me to sin   Seventy Four: Darling's POV [I'm so tired]

CHAP. 74 [Darling's POV] The air in Thomas' office was chilly as the air conditioner was put on full blast. I wonder how he coped with that suit on that could hardly combat the cold but I suppose that he was in no mood to take notice of things like that. If anything, he may have welcomed the chill at least it would help calm the fire in his blood.Thomas was a man that was always ready to be angry at anything and anyone and today was no different. He kept frowning at the newspaper in his hand. He had long given up on pretnding to drink the coffee that his secretary had brought him.He kept inhaling and exhaling dramatically and I just watched from the other side of the office. I knew that when he gets like this it was always best to let him rant and rant was what he was about to do that was for sure."These bastards!'Ah, there we go. Time for the angry words to come spewing out. We take off in three, two, one...."I swear that these insolent reporters are always trying to make me loo
