Chapter Two

I knew that I had to go shopping for the interview but there wasn't enough money for it so I just decided to look into my wardrobe to pick one or two pieces of clothing and make it look cooperate but it was hard finding any clothes at all.

I found a blue button-up shirt that I had since high school, thankfully I didn't add any weight so it was still my size.

Now I had to look for any pants or skirts to go with the shirt, I turned my wardrobe inside out searching for what I could wear with the shirt.

Luckily for me, I found a black Palazzo pants, I brought out the pressing iron that I haven't used in a long time to press my clothes. The interview was scheduled for the next day.

It was D-day finally and I didn't sleep a wink at all because of the nervousness, I got out of bed earlier than usual.

Going into the bathroom to perform my morning ritual, brushing my teeth, taking a shower with my laundry soap because I couldn't afford bathing soap, I brushed back my black hair and held it with a claw.

Had time to make myself a sandwich and tea before leaving the house, I walked to the train station.

It was currently 8:00 and I was standing at the foot of the building, it was so big and tall, I have never been in a building that had elevators.

The butterflies in my tummy returned as I walked into the building.

"Good morning" I greeted the secretary in the lobby, she stopped typing to look at me and then smiled

"Good morning, what can I do for you?"

"I believe there's an interview going on today and I was invited" She checked my outfit out then proceeded to check her computer to see if my name was on the list.

"Take the elevator going to the fifth floor that's where the interview will be taking place, good luck" I thanked her.

The elevator doors opened and I could see like hundred people sitting in the corridor, there was a secretary on this floor so I went to her and I was told to just sit down and my name will be called.

I sat down and watched how people went into a room smiling and will come out crying it made my nerves go crazy.

"Why are they all coming out crying?" the guy next to me asked

"It's both of us out here, how am I supposed to know" I retorted and he shrugged

"I just feel like the interview wouldn't be that bad and they're exaggerating"

"Until we get there we will never know"

He was called up next and I wished him good luck, three minutes later he was out, he looked at me and said "It's really hot in there, I wish you the best".

Now I was physically shaking because nobody came out with a smile on their face, it couldn't be that, could it?

"Elizabeth Smith" I saw the woman calling names searching for me and I stood up, dusted my pants, and went in with my fingers crossed.

I entered a room that looked like where meetings were usually held, four persons were sitting around the wooden table, three men and a woman.

"Good afternoon" I greeted

"Please have your seat," one of the men said, I took my seat and folded my hands on my knees.

Everyone in the room was elderly except one, he had his face down but from his facial structure, I could see he was young and would probably be handsome.

"How did you hear about this position?" I was shocked to see the iciest and most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen on someone.

Somebody else cleared their throat and I remembered that I was asked a question

"Oh uhm my friend heard about it and told me to apply for the position".

"Why didn't your friend apply for it?"

"How am I supposed to know" I countered "I'm sorry I mean I don't know why" I apologized immediately realizing my mistake.

Everyone in the room stared at me in shock while he just stared at me with no emotion on his face.

"Tell us about yourself" the woman spoke

What do I know about myself, I thought.

"Well I'm a very hardworking lady, I mean at this point in my life I work four jobs and I do them diligently because I'm happy" That's a huge lie I thought

"I'm also a quick learner and open to corrections".

They nodded their heads and scribbled something on their papers but I could feel someone staring at me and I knew who it was but I didn't dare to look at him.

"Why do you want to work here?" One of the men asked

"I want to help take this company to a higher place with my diligence" I mentally high-fived myself.

"Is that all?" The man with blue eyes asked.

"Yes," I answered.

"What do you know about the company?" He asked

I was annoyed with myself for not doing a little research on the company

"I know that the company is one of the biggest in the industry" I smiled

"Just that?" He looked at me

"What do you mean just that" I mimicked him "What else were you expecting me to say"

"I was expecting you to say that you know the company is the number one biggest company in the industry, not one of the biggest" He stared deep into my eyes challenging me.

"Well I wasn't wrong, we both just said the same thing" I retorted.

"That's okay for today, we'll get back to you Miss Smith," someone said

I didn't want to leave the room immediately but I had no choice but to, so I picked up my bag and left for the door.

"Or not," the blue eyes man said.

I left the room and walked down to the elevator, I was angry but didn't know why I was angry someone got into the elevator with me but I didn't bother looking at them until I heard his voice.

I turned to see the blue-eyed man looking at me and smirking.

"You know you're beautiful right?" he asked me, I was confused as to why he got into the elevator with me.

"And feisty, I love feisty" He licked his lips running his eyes up and down my body. He started coming closer to me locking me in with his eyes.

I couldn't move or say anything, my body was doing the talking for me. I closed my eyes anticipating his touch and kiss.
