CASSANDRA'S POV

I was left dumbfounded.

My brain was still processing the fact that Alaric had announced me as his wife I could not even process the fact that he was Sinclair's uncle

I stared blankly at the man who was supposed to be my ex-uncle and found it hard to believe. He looked just a few years older than Sinclair, I had no idea until today that Sinclair had such a young uncle.

Several questions started to race in my mind, if Alaric knew I was engaged to Sinclair. Di

Alaric’s POV The reception was grand. The entire resort was booked for the event. I spared no expense in making it perfect. The reception felt like stepping into a different world. The lights were warm, reflecting off the chandeliers above like tiny fragments of glass scattered in the air. The hall was filled with voices blended together with the clinking of glass. The air felt alive. The decorations were mind-blowing, but without her in the centre of it all, it looked bland. She was the brightest thing in the room. Not even the brightest chandeliers measured up to her smile. Cassandra and I had changed our outfits. Her wedding dress had too many layers to freely move in. I changed from the navy blue tux I wore at the wedding to a tailor-made suit that matched the dress. My cufflinks were made with emeralds matching her jewellery. She wore an emerald dress that caught the light every time she moved. It fit her like it was made for her alone, and for a moment I jus

Alaric’s POV Sunshine left me nervous last night. She cried for hours before finally falling back to sleep. By the next morning when I asked her what happened she claimed it was the pregnancy hormones Maybe I was just being paranoid but I felt it was something else. My eyes were locked on the doors. The chapel was filled. I was a bit nervous and still worried about last night but I knew this wasn't the time to worry.. On cue, the doors were pushed open. The music started, here comes the bride and the bridal procession started. Everyone stood up watching them match in. Lysander was even included as the ring bearer but my eyes were locked on the woman at the end. My Sunshine, I couldn’t look away even if I wanted to. She was breathtaking in that dress. The diamonds sewn on it sparkled under the lights. Our eyes met across the room, and I could see her smile under the veil. It was really happening. Even though we had been married for almost 4 years I st

  • Betrayed By My Ex: I Married His Uncle   257 - The Dream

Cassandra’s POV "Are you saying you are Reborn?" I asked a question that seemed completely ridiculous but he didn't seem to be joking. "As crazy as it seems." He replied. I sat up adjusting the blanket over me and met his gaze directly. His expression was calm but I could sense the turmoil in his gaze "What happened in that life?" I asked out of curiosity. He gave me a small smile and his gaze turned a bit distant. "I know I should keep this to myself but it feels like a weight I have been carrying..." he started his voice off. "In that lifetime, you got married to Sinclair. We met for the first time at the wedding. You were the happiest bride ever, completely oblivious that Sinclair was having an affair with Aurelia all along.." My heart clenched at his words. "You gave everything into the marriage. You even gave up photographing. You had a daughter, a cute girl named Sienna. "Suddenly, something flashed in my mind. The day I found that lake and the

  • Betrayed By My Ex: I Married His Uncle   255 - Wedding eve

Cassandra’s POVAlaric’s mouth stayed hot and greedy on my breast, sucking hard enough to make my back arch off the bed. His tongue swirled around the sensitive peak while his other hand moved to the neglected one, massaging and rolling the nipple between his fingers until both felt heavy and aching, still begging for more. He switched between them without mercy, licking and sucking until I was trembling beneath him. His bulge pressed hotter against my thigh with every passing second, the thick length throbbing like it had its own heartbeat. My folds grew slick and needy, clenching around nothing. I twisted my fingers into his hair and tugged, my voice coming out half-moan. “I want to feel your muscles,” I begged He playfully pinched my left nipple, the sharp pain sent a white-hot flash straight to my core. I gasped as my head spun from pleasure. Then he sat up, still kneeling over my waist, and gave me that wicked half-smile.“As you wish, sunshine.” he chimed. He reached bac

  • Betrayed By My Ex: I Married His Uncle   254 - Pregnant

Cassandra’s POV The arrangements for the wedding were flawless, Alaric was giving his best to give me the best wedding ever. It was already the best day ever and I honestly thought it couldn't get any better until the night of the wedding ceremony. There was a party hosted for the guests, but halfway through the party I felt out of it and left. My guts told me to try a pregnancy test I bought, I wasn't expecting to be pregnant but it struck me like lightning I was sitting on the toilet staring back at 2 pink lines, which felt like a dream. It took a good 5 minutes for me to process what I was staring at before I bolted. My bare foot struck the floor as I ran laughing at the test kit. For our wedding, we chose to host the entire thing at a private resort exclusively booked for the event. The bridal room was in a small Villa reserved for Alaric and me. The wedding was to be held by noon and it was still pretty early in the morning The bathroom doo

  • Betrayed By My Ex: I Married His Uncle   253 - Yes

Cassandra’s POV Alaric’s hand stayed wrapped around mine as we stepped onto the rooftop. He paused briefly, then bent down and set Lysander on his feet. One of the bodyguards approached quietly and led him toward a small table set a little distance away. Lysander didn’t resist at all. In fact, he looked far too pleased with himself, glancing back at me with a grin that made it obvious he knew something I didn’t.“Enjoy your front row seat,” Alaric told him lightly before turning back to me.I narrowed my eyes slightly. “You two are definitely plotting something,” I said suspiciously. He only smiled and laced his fingers through mine, guiding me forward. The moment I took a few steps ahead, I froze. The rooftop had been completely transformed. It didn’t feel like a building anymore. It felt like stepping into something out of a dream. Roses covered almost every visible space, deep red ones lining a long aisle that stretched ahead of us. Soft lights were woven around the
