Alpha’s First Love & Last Mate

"You don't want to get start over." He says, as if only now understanding what I've been saying for over thirty minutes. "Neither do I," he says, his lips twitching with a smile he won't let settle.

"You’re in the process of doing so," I nod, trying to see where he is going with this. "But carry on." I urge.

The realisation hits me like a slap to the face. "Ezra," I warn.

"Hear me out," he says, scooting his chair closer, so close his chest is pressed against the table.

"Respectfully, I think you've had too much to drink now," I say, staring at the wine bottle on the table. He had been drinking more than he ate.

"Not exactly," he counters, "I've barely had a bottle. Listen, I know it doesn't make sense, but what if we got married? Stella doesn't fully comprehend why I need a wife, and she will try to force something, but you're done. You don't expect love or a child of your own. You have those. You seem to understand my situation."
