Temporary Attraction or Mate bond

Alpha - Xavier - POV

Leia strolled into her room alongside Daisy, and Ana's hand remained on my arm, but I gently untangled her grip. Ana looked at me, perplexed.

"Xav, something seems to bother you. Is everything okay?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, Ana. I need to attend to some work urgently. Can we reschedule our date night for another time?" I murmured.

"Ana and Caroline, we apologize for canceling our date night due to a heavy workload," Kai responded.

"Honey, we haven't seen each other for months, and you want to cancel our date night? That's not right!" Caroline grumbled.

"I agree with Caroline. I've been away from the Pack for months on business, and I understand that pack affairs come first, but keep in mind that we will be engaged soon." Ana added.

"Ladies, let's cut the Alphas some slack this time." Ana and Caroline stopped whining after Mother spoke authoritatively. "I know my sons have agreed to marry you in exchange for your fathers' help in finding a cure for my illness and discovering the truth about what killed my mate, Alpha Reo."

"Mother, calm down." Kai grabbed Mom's shoulder to soothe her, as she was on the verge of using profanity on Ana and Caroline, who were spoiled rich brats. However, their fathers had a lot of power to help us, partly by engaging their daughters and pushing us to make them the Luna of our Pack. They knew very well that the Alphas of Blackmoon had difficulty finding mates.

Kai escorted Mom inside her room, and Ana and Caroline walked away from the Mansion with barely concealed anger. I settled behind my desk, and Vincent entered with a concerned expression.

"Did Leia forgive those foolish she-wolves?" Kai inquired as he walked in.

"Yes," Vincent replied with a sigh.

"Alpha, I need some clarity here." Vincent paused, looking at Kai and me.

"I know you both wanted to bring Leia back to the Pack because you consider her your step-sister. But it seems there's more to the story. I know I'm overstepping my boundaries, but I care for Leia, and I don't want to hurt her or cause a rift in my relationship with Daisy because of this secret."

Kai sighed, halting Vincent's description. "Vincent, I understand your concern for Leia and Daisy. But we're both uncertain about something and can't determine if what we're feeling is the right assumption." Vincent looked puzzled at Kai.

"What feeling? I'm lost," Vincent asked after a beat of silence.

"Kai's and my wolf are drawn to Leia. We discovered these feelings the day we saw Leia at the conference," I added. Vincent gaped at us in astonishment.

"The attraction drew both Alphas to Leia. That's why you cringed when she called you both brothers," Vincent noted.

"Believe me, it's challenging to resist the pull when Leia is around," Kai continued. "It's difficult to keep jealousy at bay when I see my big brother eyeing Leia with desire." I scowled at Kai, who rolled his eyes at me.

"Didn't the wolf confirm the attraction was a mate bond?" Vincent asked.

"Leia doesn't have her own wolf, and until our wolf can't sense Leia's wolf, we can't confirm if it's a mate bond or just temporary attraction, because of the curse linked to us," I explained.

"Wait, you two are linked to a curse. I've never heard of this. Alphas, are you both cursed?" Vincent asked in amazement.

"Wow, we've appointed you as Beta of our Pack for five years, and yet you don't know this," Kai said with a shrug. Vincent looked embarrassed.

"What about Leia's curse? Is it connected to you both, Alphas?" Vincent asked.

"We are working with witches to find the answer and tell us the cause of Leia's curse. It seems to be as dark as ours, but it felt like it was cast on her, and she has not inherited the curse like us. The shamans have informed us. We also need to find out whether Leia is our fated mate," Kai explained.

"This is a real problem. So, Alpha Xavier, you weren't aware of Leia's curse, until she fainted at my apartment that night and learned the truth." I nodded my head.

"Xavier wanted to tell Leia everything and tell her we both feel attracted to her and that she should never call us her brothers. It angers our wolves," Kai added.

"Enough of your curse talks; I am getting a headache. Speak with Dylan and Gordon to ask if they have found a cure for our mother's illness," I commanded Vincent, and he nodded. Dylan is Ana's father, who owns a mystical pharmaceutical company. He is also a psychic. Gordon's business deals with rare sources of medicinal herbs that are hard to find anywhere.

Both men also have the power to be psychic and see the past of individuals, and we need their power to help us discover what happened in the past to our fathers and Beta Nas Agnor's exile from our packs.

Vincent left our office to follow the command. "Brother, was it a good idea to sign an engagement contract?"

"I know your reason for asking this question, Kai," I replied. Kai looked at me with a glare. "You never had a problem sleeping with Caroline until you sensed the pull towards Leia; you wanted to get rid of all the women in your harem and your so-called fiancée."

"Don't forget you were a playboy, too," Kai hissed.

"It's a year-old story. I quit everything when Mom quit her Luna post and gave me Alpha Responsibility, and knowing Mom was not well, I couldn't be carefree," I hissed.

"You were hiding the fact about our mother's illness from me for a year was a pathetic move as an Alpha," Kai snapped. I paused, knowing hiding things from Kai was wrong. I knew Kai was close to Mom, and we worried about her well-being and could do anything to save her.

"The engagement was a deal we signed six months ago and can't be undone at the moment, but I will find a loophole," Kai said, smirking at me, satisfied with the answer.

"Kai, prepare the arrangements for Alpha Francis and his wife. Make sure Leia is not around at that time. I don't want her to recall terrible memories," I added.

"The welcome you mean subtly showing dominance," Kai smirked, and my lips curled up. I will make sure Alpha Francis pays for hurting our Leia.

Alpha Francis - POV

"What is it, Vaz?" I asked, looking at my Beta's troubled face as I stepped down, putting my child to sleep as my wife was off to meet her family.

"Alpha, you asked for a report on Leia Agnor. She is not in the human world but has gone to the Black Moon Pack," Vaz answered.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I hissed.

"I just retrieved a magical message from a dead spy caught by the Black Moon soldiers and killed," Vaz added.

"Did they figure out the spy belonged to our pack?" I asked, holding Vaz by the collar.

"No, Alpha," he answered. I let him go.

"Burn this report and make sure Leena doesn't know about this," I said as Vaz nodded and burned the report. However, I held onto a recent picture of Leia; she looked more beautiful than ever. I shouldn't have rejected her, and now I regret it, especially because my wife, Leena, doesn't love me and has been seeing her fated mate behind my back.

I learned a month ago that my child, Joe, is not even mine, but I am putting on an act to fool the elders of the Pack into thinking I have an heir. I need you back, Leia. I want to revive our broken mate bond. Whether Leia has a wolf or not, I will correct my errors.

I heard, Leia, that you have been a bad girl in the human world. Recently, I killed those human men you slept with. You will be mine again. I realize now that I am a possessive man for you, Leia. I have been trying to resist you, but I can't control my emotions anymore. Please wait for me, my Leia. I am going to bring you back to my pack. I promised myself.
