Chapter Thirty-two

“For the millionth time Sebastian Keates, what is wrong with you?!”

“Sophia-”

“Do not even try to tell me it’s nothing again,” Sophia almost yelled at Seb. “You’ve been oddly glum the whole day. You were barely yourself, you seemed lost in thoughts more than half the day and now you’re lyng.”

“Actually-”

“Did you have a fight with your freshman boy? Alex?” Sophia asked, Seb immediately turning to face her. “Ah, I’m guessing that’s it.”

“What? No! We didn’t fight, I promise,” he quickly said. “What made you even guess this is about him?”

“Cause I’m suddenly remembering how you were staring at him pretty much throughout lunch,” she replied. “Is there something you want to tell me, Sebastian? I’m your best friend, remember.”

He was silent for a while then let out a deep exhale. “Yeah, you’re my best friend.”

“Are you confirming that right now?”

“No, I’m reminding you,” he said, Sophia rolling her eyes. “Which means you have to be on my side no matter what, right?”
