FLAVIA'S POV
FEW DAYS LATER... For the past few days, the house has been peaceful because I decided to stay out of his way because he was nice when I pleaded with him because of Alison. Truthfully, I have been evading him because I can't seem to get the picture of him in towel off my mind, I don't know why I can't stop picturing him in towel, so I decided to avoid him until now. I usually wait till he has gone to work before I come for breakfast but I was really hungry today and I couldn't wait. "Fancy seeing you here." He pointed out as he sat in front of me for breakfast. "Good morning." I greeted without sparing him a glance. "You have been so scarce lately, what have you been up to?" He asked curiously. "Staying out of your way." I pointed out. "You said I should give you space, right?" I mean that's not the reason I have been avoiding him but I can't tell him the real reason. "Hahahah, when did you start listening to me?" I finally looked at him. "The last time I checked, you enjoy defying me. Anyways, take this." He slid a black card across the table to me. "What's this for?" I asked curiously as I held the black card in my hand. "I have an event this evening and you are coming with me. So shop with that, look classy and elegant, it has no limits, so spare no expense." He said as he continued eating. "I'm not going." I said point blank. I mean, he can't just order me around with no notice just because he feels like it, besides I really don't feel like going out. "Hahahah, that's very funny. Look, I am not asking. I am telling you that you are coming with me to an event. Plus, it's in the contract, so you can't say no." He got up, picked up his things and left before I could even think of something to say. I admit that I didn't really read the contract vividly but I never expected that he included things like following him to an event or things related in the contract and now I am forced to go out with him even though going out is the last thing I want to do today. "Oh God, help me." I finished my breakfast and then I went back upstairs to get ready since I still need to shop first. I decided to give Jaz a call first because there is no way I can go shopping without her, she loves shopping and I have an unlimited black card to use. "Hey girl, I have a surprise for you." I said as soon as she picked the call. "Really?" "Yes, right here is a black card with an unlimited budget to shop. Are you down?" I asked curiously even though I already know the answer. "Hell yes, of course I am down. I will be there so soon." She said eagerly and I started laughing. I made my way to the bathroom as soon as I ended the call to shower and get ready before she gets here... I showered quickly, did a light makeup and I moved on to styling my hair just as there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I called and Alison stepped in. "Miss, your friend is here." She informed. "Oh, that was fast. Show her to my room." I honestly thought that I was going to finish up and possibly wait for her before she shows up but I guess she's more eager for the shopping spree than I initially thought. I just finished putting my hair in a neat ponytail when she stepped in. "Hey girl." Jaz said as soon as she entered my room. "Wow, this is really beautiful." She looked around, admiring the place before plopping on my bed. "Thanks, I wasn't expecting you to be here this early. I see you are very eager for the shopping." I pointed out before heading to my walk in closet to look for something to wear. "Well, you mentioned a black card and I can only imagine all the beautiful things I can buy with it but why do you have his card though?" She asked curiously as soon as I returned to the room in a simple black dress. There is no point getting over dressed when I will end up changing multiple times till I find the right dress for the event. I didn't even get to ask what type of event, so that I can know what to buy. He just mentioned classy and elegant. "He said that he has an event this evening and I am coming with him, so he gave me the card to shop for what I am wearing tonight, something classy and elegant. You know, I even told him that I am not going but he said I don't have a say and that it's in the contract." I explained. "Well, he has a point. You are his wife and you have to follow him out for every event and occasion even if it's not in the contract, it's the right thing to do. I mean if you guys were in love, wouldn't you want him to take you everywhere?" She asked curiously. "I mean, you have a point but that's not the case, he is very annoying and I really don't want to be spending time with him right now." It will be a shame if I end up falling in love with him knowing that this is a one year contract besides I am still very angry with what he did to me years ago and I just don't want to hang out with him. "What do you mean by right now?" She asked curiously but I don't want to tell her about the incident that happened in his room. "Nothing really, I just don't feel like hanging out with him. Anyways, can we go now?" I asked because knowing Jaz, she won't stop until she finds out what's really happening. "Of course, let's go." I grabbed my bag, phone and the black card before we left the room together. "Where are we shopping at because we can't get the level of class he is looking for at the shopping mall?" She pointed out and I think she's right , although I have no idea where to go. "I really don't know." "Oh, I know one really expensive store. They have quality, classy and elegant things there, let's check it out." That's the exact reason I called her, she loves shopping and I knew she will know the best places to shop and the right things to buy. "Cool, I knew I could count on you. I want something really elegant, something that will make me fit into his crowd." I pointed out. I didn't want to go initially but since I don't have a choice or a day, then I need to look the part of the famous billionaire's wife. I want to dress to impress, flawless and very beautiful. "And also impress him." She pointed out. "Something that will make him notice you, I want you to stand out and be the most beautiful lady at the event, I don't want him to be able to get his eyes off you tonight." She pointed out but I don't see the need for that. "No Jaz, I am not trying to look good for him. This has nothing to do with him, I just want to look good and fit into his crowd but not to keep his eyes glued to me all night." I clarified, I am trying to avoid him and not the other way around. "Whatever you say girl." She said while laughing but I don't find it funny. Within twenty minutes or so, she pulled over in front of a very massive store and judging by the building and the few clothes in display, I have a feeling that they will have the type of dress I am hoping to find. Something that will exude class and elegance. We stepped out of the car and made our way inside the store and like I suspected from the exterior of the building, the interior looks even more sophisticated and expensive. How did Jazmine even find this place because it doesn't look like we can afford anything in here without the help of his black card. "Good day ladies, welcome to glamour house. My name is Sara and I am here to help you with anything you need, please come this way." A lady approached us as soon as we stepped in and led us to the waiting area. This is crazy, it feels like I am here for a consultation and not for shopping. "So do you have anything in particular in mind that you are looking for or do you want to look around?" Sara asked. "Not exactly, we will look around." Jazmine pointed out before I could respond.LOUIS'S POV I hate when the house is quiet like this. There is something unsettling about silence after a fight, like the tension is still clinging to the walls, replaying every word with sharper edges. I could still hear her voice, thick with anger. Her eyes... God, those eyes had looked at me like I am a monster in a tailored suit.I shouldn’t have snapped at her like I did.I ran a hand down my face, bracing myself on the kitchen island, glaring at the orchids like it was their fault. It wasn’t about the damn flowers, not really. It was about everything else. About how she started leaving her scent in the rooms, her softness in the air, her damn laugh in places where silence used to live and I didn’t know how to deal with that.Flavia wasn’t supposed to… matter. I told myself that the contract was business, that she was just a solution. A temporary fixture to cover up the mess left behind by Emily and the looming eyes of people, media and my workers. And yet, here I am, angry over
FLAVIA'S POV I never knew flowers could feel like landmines. The orchids on the marble kitchen island were a soft shade of lilac, delicate and perfectly arranged. I reached out instinctively to adjust one of the petals, only slightly because it looked like it was leaning the wrong way."Don’t touch that." Came a voice from behind me and without turning around, I knew it was Louis.I froze. "It’s just a flower, Louis."His footsteps were clipped against the marble floors as he entered the kitchen. "That’s not the point."I turned around slowly, watching him stand there in a blue jeans and a black polo shirt buttoned by the neck and he looks so cute as usual, I love seeing him in casual outfits as well as cooperates, he looks good either ways. It's Sunday and he is not going to work."What is the point, then?" I asked curiously. He narrowed his eyes at the vase. "I had it arranged a certain way."I blinked. "So? I just nudged a petal.""You moved it. The alignment is off." God. Is he
LOUIS'S POV The corner office buzzed with the low hum of city life, even from the twentieth floor. I sat behind my desk, scrolling through figures on my screen, but not really seeing any of them as something lingered in my mind."She hugged me." It was brief, warm. Sudden and then she pulled back like she touched fire.I should have forgotten it by now but I can't get it off my mind. The soft knock on the door didn’t startle me, it was sudden and unexpected but only one person knocked like he owned the place."Come in." I said, without looking up.Tommy strolled in with a cup of coffee in each hand, he placed one on my desk before slumping into the chair opposite me. His suit jacket was unbuttoned, tie loosened like always. "I heard from Lidia that Flavia came in this morning," He said casually, before sipping his coffee. "You showed her the vacant floors?"I didn’t reply reply because I can already tell where this is going."You did, didn’t you?" He grinned. "You gave her a space,
FLAVIA'S POV It honestly still feels like a dream, I can't believe that I now have an office to myself. Even now, after leaving Louis's office with my documents in hand, on my way back to the building to meet Jaz, it still feels like a wild dream. As soon as the car stopped in front of the Prime corner suite, I stepped out. "Wow, fancy." Jazmine teased as she saw me stepping out of the car. "Who's car is that?""Louis, he asked his driver to drop me." It was a little weird going to his office today because I can still remember what happened the last time I was there.I was practically eating in his office, created a scene and then he offered me contract marriage and with recent development, I am not entirely sure if I am still mad at him or not."Oh, I see. This is getting really interesting, an office space, a black card to furnish the space and then a car to bring you here." I already know what she's driving at but I don't want to give it a thought because I am honestly confused."
FLAVIA'S POV The silence in the car wasn’t the comfortable kind, it was thick, drawn-out, and padded with all the things neither of us wanted to say. His hands rested lightly on the steering wheel, his knuckles relaxed albeit the tension simmering just beneath the surface.I watched the city blur by through the tinted window, resisting the urge to fidget with my seatbelt. "Where are we going Louis?" I asked impatiently."This is the third time you are asking in the last five minutes and my reply hasn't changed, you have to wait and see." I really don't understand what the suspense is about, we are already on our way and he can as well just tell me."Fine, I don't know why it's so difficult to say, but it's fine." After last night’s debacle and this morning icy breakfast, I thought we were back to ignoring each other, but I guess not. Wherever it is we are going should better be worth ordering me around for.I stayed quiet and watched as he drove into an unfamiliar part of the city
FLAVIA'S POV I woke up feeling annoyed and very frustrated, after having little or no sleep last night thanks to Louis and all the awful things he said to me last night... First, I didn't want to go to the so called event with him but he practically forced me.Then he embarrassed me at the event because I was talking to someone. To be fair, I actually went too far while flirting with Carter but it was only because Louis had his eyes on me. I mean, I am only his wife on paper, so he shouldn't be bothered by my actions but I guess I was wrong.Although I think it will be best to stay away from him for a while, but unfortunately for me, as soon as I got to the dining area, there he was, already sitting, scrolling through his phone as he sips his black coffee.I sat at the far end of the long dining table, totally ignoring him as I served my breakfast. The fact that he refused to say anything to me or even apologize for how he treated and spoke to me last night is very annoying, which is
