Will you really dump my sister for me?"

Chris and Jane have been dating since high school. For Jane, Chris is her happy place. Living with her step-siblings hasn’t been easy for her, and Chris is her only comfort.

"Jane, I love you so much. What can I ever do to repay you? You’re a blessing in disguise, and I can’t wait to finally have you all to myself, babe," Chris said.

"I love you too, Chris," Jane replied, her eyes already red and her voice trembling as she professed her undying love for him.

"Chris, just take the money and use it to pay for your tuition. This is the money I have been saving for five years now," Jane added.

"Babe!" Chris said, almost crying. "I promise things are going to get better. All your sacrifices for me won’t be in vain. I promise to be a better man for you."

Just then, Chris’s phone rang.

"Jane, I have to take this call. Please, can you give me a moment?"

"Yes," Jane said almost immediately, though she wondered why Chris suddenly seemed panicked over a call.

"How can you be calling me now when you know I am with your sister? I am with your sister, for crying out loud," Chris said, already frustrated.

"How is that my business, Chris? You better finish what you started, or all hell will break loose."

"How can you do this to me, knowing how much your sister loves me?"

"Oh, please spare me the sermons. So, you want to play the saint all of a sudden, right? I want you here by 7PM at my house, and I don’t care how you do it, Chris. Bye."

Jane lost her mother when she was two years old in an accident. Not long after, her father, Mr. Jethro, brought another woman into their home as his wife.

At first, her stepmother treated her well, but after getting pregnant, her attitude changed drastically. She hated Jane for no reason, especially because Jethro was always fond of his first child. Eventually, Jane’s stepmother turned her father’s affection away from her and focused solely on Karen.

Karen got the best of everything from childhood clothes, education, and privileges while Jane was treated like a slave. Her only friend and comfort was Chris.

Chris paced around, deep in thought.

What have I gotten myself into? I love Karen, but Jane has done so much for me. What happens when she finds out about my escapades with her stepsister?

But wait… who cares? I never asked Jane to fall in love with me. She keeps stalking me, and honestly, she’s not that beautiful. Unlike my darling Karen hot, seductive, beautiful, and, most importantly, the heir to M&G Building and Construction Company.

Smiling briefly, Chris walked back to where Jane was.

"Babe, I’m sorry for the interruption. My friend just won’t let me be, always asking for one thing or another."

"Oh!" Jane replied, feeling proud of her man. "It’s okay. Who wouldn’t want a friend like you in their life?"

Chris kissed her forehead. "Babe, I have to go meet up with my friend. You know how he can be."

Almost on the verge of tears, Jane muttered, "You promised to spend time with me today. We haven’t really had enough time together. Now that we finally can, you’re leaving already?"

Tears streamed down her face as she let out her frustration.

Chris, trying to hide his irritation, consoled her. "I promise I’ll make it up to you, okay? We’ll hang out soon. Besides, your dad and stepmother will start looking for you soon. You need to go home, baby."

Jane wiped her tears, grudgingly walked Chris to get a cab, and bid him farewell.

"Chris! What the hell took you so long? I’ve been waiting for you alone at the hotel," Karen fired angrily.

"Karen, I’m sorry. You know how your sister can be. I had to come up with a proper excuse for her."

Chris wrapped his arms around Karen’s waist, caressing her shoulders softly.

"Chris, please leave me alone," Karen said, already blushing.

"Okay, fine," he said, taking his hands off her. "Tell me you don’t want this, and I’ll leave you alone. Do you want this, Karen?"

Sensing his anger, Karen walked up to him and started kissing him.

"Chris, I’m sorry, okay? I just don’t like seeing you with my sister. I want you all to myself, baby, and you know that." Karen was already unbuttoning Chris’s shirt.

"Why don’t we take this to another level, baby?" Chris smirked naughtily, grabbing Karen’s hands and pinning them to the wall. He kissed her passionately, leaving her breathless.

*** Phone rings (Jane).

"Babe, please hold on. Your sister is calling me I need to pick it up." Chris hurriedly dropped the already angry Karen onto the bed.

"Jane, why are you calling me? I told you I’m with my friend! Why are you disturbing me, for goodness’ sake?" Chris lashed out.

"I’m sorry, dear. I just called to check if you got to your friend’s place safely. I didn’t mean to offend you or make you angry. I’m truly sorry," Jane said, her voice breaking with tears.

"Well, I’m here now. Happy?"

"Okay, dear. Please take care of yourself for me, okay? My regards to your mother—please tell her I asked after her."

"I will. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now."

"Chris? Chris? Hello? Are you there?" Jane sighed. "I guess he’s really busy right now."

"Can we continue now?" Karen snapped bitterly.

"Of course, darling. Don’t mind that fat, good-for-nothing girl," Chris sneered.

"Once I’m done with everything I want, I’ll call off the relationship and finally make things right with you. That way, we won’t have to hide our love anymore."

"Will you really dump my sister for me?" Karen asked excitedly.

"Of course, baby. There’s no way I’m going to marry that ugly-looking girl. I’d be ashamed." Chris smirked. "It’s just you, my baby girl."
