ログインAmy was the luna of her pack, growing a pup in her stomach when the alpha betrayed her and took her life, and that of her pup. When she woke up six years earlier she decided to change everything. Revenge would be something she focused on.
もっと見る“Hello?” I called out again, my voice already hoarse. “Please, I’m your Luna.” I heard a snicker from the guard at the door. I glanced over as I inched closer to the bars, leaving a few feet. I already learned my lesson on the first day that Brandon had me thrown in here. I shuddered as I remembered the sizzle of silver against my skin. I looked down at my still-scorched skin. “Please let me out. I have done nothing!” I called out weakly. My poor wolf, already weak, howled softly inside of me.
“Shut up already.” The guard called back. “If you haven’t figured out why you are in here, whore, then I’ll tell the Alpha you haven’t learned your lesson.”
The betrayal cut deep. Brandon did this. I closed my eyes as I laid on the concrete ground. “Nix.” I called softly to my wolf, but she ignored me. She turned her back on me, like everyone else. Her soft, mournful howl broke my heart. “I didn’t do anything.” I tried to explain to her, but she already knew we had done nothing wrong. She was the other half of my soul.
There was a clang from the door, and I pushed off the ground, still hopeful to see my mate. But it was Shannon who walked in — my step-sister, and best friend. Her soft clicking heels came down the barred corridor and stopped outside my cell. “Amy.”
“Shan.” I let a smile grace my lips. I pushed up and staggered to the bars, keeping a small distance. “Talk to Brandon for me.” I pleaded with my eyes. “I don’t know why I’m here. No one will tell me.”
“That’s why I’m here.” Hope surged in me again, and I stepped closer, leaving only half an inch between me and the bars.
“Really?” I felt a tear fall down my face. “Thank you.” I carefully slid my hand out between the bars to grab her hand.
She threaded her fingers into mine, and a smile broke across her face. “Of course. We are family.” She squeezed my fingers. I nodded once before she yanked me against the bars.
The sizzle and smoke registered before the pain did. The smell of charred meat reached my nose, and that was the cue for my brain to catch up, and the pain exploded inside of me. My eyes flickered to black as a scream burst from my lips.
The guard covered his nose and gagged as the smell hit him. But Shannon just smiled wider as she slammed me back to the ground. She stomped off, but I was still writhing in pain to full register what she was doing.
Until the cell door swung open, and a new pain sliced across my back. My eyes snapped open only to see another strike from the silver whip cut across the hand I raised up to ward off the blow. I curled over my stomach, trying to protect the pup in my womb. He kicked as I screamed again, like he was trying to fight off whoever was attacking us.
I’m sorry, my love. I called to my pup. Mommy doesn’t understand what’s going on.
“Shannon, stop, I’m your Luna.”
The main door to the hidden jail swung open, and I turned to see who was coming now, only for the silver whip to land across the bared half of my face. I bellowed my pain, and Shannon cackled, glee written on her face.
Brandon, my mate, stepped up to Shannon’s side, and he slid his arm around her shoulder. Betrayal shattered the remaining shard of heart I had left. His smile was slow and deliberate. “You aren’t the Luna of this pack anymore. Shannon is.”
I choked on blood as I stared up at my mate and my sister. “So, the pain last night?”
They nodded. “I shattered the bond and marked her under the full moon.”
Shannon grinned as she rubbed her slightly rounded belly. “And it wasn’t the first time. I’m going to give him his first pup.”
I struggled with this new information. “You’re lying. I would have felt his betrayal.” I laughed as I rolled, staggering to my feet. “This is his first pup.” I pointed to my giant stomach.
Brandon snarled. “We all know that pup is a bastard from another pack.” The words hit me like knives. “There is no bond between me and that fucking whelp.”
Shannon’s eyes tightened a little as he said the words, and I realized the truth. The chuckle that worked its way out of my chest was chased by blood. Speckles landed on their faces. “You think the pup I carry is someone else’s? Are you fucking stupid?” I screamed as I leaned closer. “When would I have time to cheat? You would have felt it. Why don’t you fucking believe me?”
Shannon smirked. “There are ways around the betrayal pain, Amy. Or else you would have known I had been sleeping with Brandon for the last year.” Her words were a punch to the gut. I stood on shaky legs.
“There is no way.” I took a step towards her. “I would have known.”
Brandon smiled. “No, you wouldn’t.” His words were sharp. “What I do outside of my bond is none of your concern. But you…you're not allowed to sleep with another male.” His taunting words had Nix growling. We charged at him, but Brandon smacked me, sending me flying to the ground. “I know you cheated when you went to your father’s pack. Shannon told me everything, showed me everything. What was his name again? Beck? I even spoke with him, and he confessed everything. But don’t worry. You will be reunited with the father soon enough.”
“What the fuck are you talking about? There is no other male.” Beck? My father’s Gamma. He had to be lying.
“I know. I eradicated your father’s pack yesterday.” He leaned over me as the truth shattered me. “You and that bastard are next.” He turned and left me alone in the cell with Shannon.
“Ugh.” A groan from behind the chair had me slapping my hand over my mouth. “Are you trying to kill me, pup?”“I’m sorry.” I looked at my dad, but he was currently bent over, dying of laughter. “Dad?”“Did you see how far he fell back?” Tears were trailing down his cheeks as he cackled. “Rude.” Ronnie stood and dusted off his shirt. “The both of you are rude.”“I really didn’t mean it to do it.” I turned to my dad. “What did I do wrong?”“Well, for one thing, you definitely weren’t thinking about the size of the wisp. All your power rushed to fulfil your wish, and it was as big as it could get.” My dad wiped his eyes and his laughter finally trailed off. “But Ronnie, you know it doesn’t cause harm.”“I know, but I have never seen one that big, and it scared the shit out of me. Sue me.” Ronnie settled back into the chair. “Try to picture it the size of a softball.” My dad motioned me to try again. I closed my eyes. “Iccas lumin torcanta.” I pictured the light a lot smaller than befo
“A Lycan?” I traced my finger over the picture. “I thought they were extinct.”“Most are. Only one left is the king.” My dad pulled the book away from me and switched back to the page he had originally settled on. “Lycans have two forms. A wolf, much bigger than a normal werewolf. And a half human half wolf form, like the ones you see in the movies. Weres can partially shift, but nothing that comes close to the wolfman form.” He pushed the book back in front of me. “Now I want you to focus on this spell and try to create a wisp without losing the change in your scent.”“A wisp?” I looked at the page and skimmed it. It was a step to step spell on how to create a wisp of light. A spell useful for seeing in the dark and one that doesn’t create heat so you can hold it for long periods of time without being burned. “Yeah, this was the first spell I learned from my grandmother. She said it is the safest option as a wisp has no way to ‘burn down the village’.” He smirked as his eyes took on
“Grandma.” My dad stood and went to grab for her but she held up her hand. “I’m not here, boy-o. Not really here. She pulled me to you with that.” She pointed to the book.“Your book of shadows. I thought it was lost.” He turned back to the book and hovered his hands over it. “It wasn’t lost, it was hidden.” She looked over at me and smiled. “It was found by who it was meant to be found by.” She walked over and hovered her hands around my father’s face, almost cupping it. “I’ve missed you. But I can’t stay. Watch out for the darkness.”“I love you.” His whisper was soft.“And I you.” She leaned down to kiss his forehead, and then she was gone.He looked over at me and I could see the devastation there. “You met her?”I nodded. “She helped me find myself, my inner self, anyway, so that I could find my power. Even then, the Moon Goddess had to give me a push.”“You met the moon goddess?” Ronnie lept up and rushed over.“I don’t actually know.” I lifted a shoulder and looked back at my
“Okay. Now let’s try removing your scent all together.” My father tossed out and I had to think. What removes a smell from the air, other than air fresheners or candles?“I know this will sound stupid…” Ronnie started, but I just scoffed.“I’m picturing a scented candle in my mind to protect me from my shitty mate. Something that shouldn’t work, and it’s just ridiculous. I don’t think we can get any worse.” He pointed at me and smiled. “True. I was just thinking, a vacuum. It sucks everything in.” I debated the idea.“It doesn’t have to be a perfect idea. Just something you can focus on while your power does the thing you need.” My dad stood and walked over to me. “It’s more about an outlet for your power to flow through. Your power will flow the way you intend it, but you need something to start it.”I closed my eyes again and pictured a vacuum in my clearing. I angled the hose up and plugged the vacuum into an outlet that appeared on the pot, and clicked it on. The noise was deafen
“Close you eyes.” I had barely wiped the sleep from my eyes when my dad sat me down in his office with Uncle Ronnie. I settled deeper into the chair and closed my eyes. “Now I want you to pull Nix closer to the surface until your eyes shift.“The wolfs bane?”“Won’t interfere. We waited the last two days to clear it from your system.” My father settled behind his desk. That made sense. I have been shut in my room for the last few days, doing my best not to shift. And staying clear of other wolves has been my saving grace. “Close your eyes Amy.” I nodded. “Once Nix is close to the surface, I am going to have Ronnie scent you. Once your scent has shifted, we can work on the next step.”“If Uncle Ronnie can scent me, won’t that screw me over?” I peeked out of one eye and my dad shook his head. “We won’t be shifting fully, just bringing Nix forward enough so we can tell when you manage cloaking yourself.” I closed my eye again and shook myself. “Nix, I need you to come closer.” I whispe
We made our way back to the house and into my father’s office before I saw anyone else. An omega brought in plates of rare steak. “Dad?” My stomach clenched looking at the meat. I couldn’t tell if I wanted it, or my body was rejecting the idea of eating it.“You need a lot of meat. You wolf is begging you to shift. It’s her time to shine now that the power portion has been handled. But you have things to worry about other than shifting, and this will help keep Nix under wraps.” He nudged the plate in front of me. “Try it. I know it probably doesn’t look appetizing, but I promise you, you will enjoy it.”I reached for a fork and knife, but my nails shifted to claws before I could wrap my fingers around the utensils. I snatched up the meat and tore into it, blood dripping from the meat. It was still so rare. Nix settled farther back into the forest in my mind’s eye, and Megan settled next to her. I’m sorry Amy. I seem to be losing control. Nix started to pace as I continued to tear int
