"Scott never comes to any family function or stuffs like these" Danielle shook her head while still looking at Scott through the window. I stared at him too and now he was just looking around. David was still talking but with someone else that joined them. Scott looked terribly bored.
"Why? Why doesn't he come?" I ask.
"Scott has a complicated and terrifying past. One which he's trying hard to overcome " Danielle smiled sadly. She seemed to me, closer to Scott than even his parents. I've only met Scott's mom and Val but the love this woman felt for him was more han their love. I'm sure.
"How complicated?"
She shook her head as if shaking some bad thoughts away. "He's been in battle with himself since he was five"

I arranged a pile of pancakes on a plate. Taking the pan off of the cooker, I cleaned the countertop.
