I couldn't wait to see my family. At the week mark we were allowed to visit our homes for the weekend. I went to see Grey after finishing packing a small bag.

"I'm going to miss you" he confessed

"it's the weekend. you will be fine. a week ago you didn't even know me" I laughed.

He rolled his eyes dramatically, sighing "yes but you know that doesn't matter"

"it's 2 days... I will be back before you know it..."

I was dropped off by my house, the dusty road leaving a haze in the air. I knew noone would be home, on a Saturday we would usually go and visit my Aunt Clara so I had a bit of time to be alone in my home. I found the spare key which was hid in the old broken plant pot before opening the door. The familiar scent hit my nose, nothing had changed. I don't know what I expected, it had been a week!

My mothers knitting sat draped across the arm of her armchair, my fathers slippers placed neatly by the fireplace. Toys were scattered around, Emmet was never one for clearing up
