Chapter 10 - Promise

I couldn't believe what happened until I realized, I let myself be fooled by a distraction while they took my chosen one. How could I not have noticed before she was taken?

I crouched down and sighed, I tried to smell Vanessa, but unfortunately I couldn't and I was in despair when I realized that I only smelled magic, I knew that besides having fallen exactly the way they planned, I also knew who that smell belonged to, it was a wizard I knew because besides being a wizard-wolf hybrid, he was also an alpha and my childhood friend.

"I didn't imagine he would be by their side" Guará spoke in my mind while I was just very confused that my friend was helping the council "Even more so since he promised to help us when we found our chosen one," Guará said with a tone of voice that showed annoyance and he sighed at the end of his speech.

"There must be a reason for this" I said with a sad tone of voice and expression "But it doesn't change the fact that if necessary, I will fight him"I said with a serious expression as I clenched my fists tightly.

"How long are you going to stay there?" asked a hoarse voice from someone behind me, and I immediately recognized it as Lima.

I looked back and was surprised to see that he was holding a device that I immediately realized was a locator, I stood up while looking at that device that Lima was holding in one of his hands.

"Why are you with...." I was interrupted by Lima.

"With a locator!?" Lima spoke and I nodded, Lima calmly explained "It turns out I put a tracking spell on the gift I gave Van just in case, and this locator shows her location" After he finished speaking, I hugged him and apparently Lima was surprised because he didn't react.

"Even though it was hidden from her, thank you" I said while smiling.

"You're welcome, but now you can let go of me" Lima said as he tried to get away from me.

"Now, all that's left is for you to teleport us there" I said after taking my arms off him and he looked at me in disbelief because of what I said.

"Do you think you just have to say it and I'll go in the blink of an eye!?" - Lima spoke in a stern tone of voice as he looked at me in disbelief "I need to know what the place looks like to go there, but I've never been to that area!"

""What is the location?" I asked Lima who showed me the locator which only showed nothing more than a map. "I know this place, it's called the Howling Garden" I said after seeing the place that didn't have any name and of course that had left the wizard surprised,but confused too and noticed that he had never heard a place with that name and continued "But you humans call it Ibirapuera Park."

"Let me see if I understand, they took the Van to a park where everyone can witness it!?" Lima said in surprise and that confused me.

"Lima, aren't you feeling the magic of another wizard?" I asked Lima confusedly, who immediately denied it. I understood why he hadn't noticed "You haven't studied magic properly and at the moment he is a simple beginner" I said with concern in my voice, then I took the device from Lima's hand as I said "I'll go alone."

"I'll go with you," Lima said as he snatched the location from my hand.

"You will not go at all, and give it back to me" I said in a firm tone of voice and extended my hand at the end as I expected the wizard to return the device to me, but it didn't happen because of his stubbornness.

"I'll go along and that's it" Lima said as he began to cast a spell circle.

I was going to tell Lima that he wouldn't even get there because he was just a beginner in magic and that was obvious, but someone was faster than him.

"You won't, because you're inexperienced!" Lydia said, taking the tracker from his hand.

Lima just looked at her with a sad expression, he understood that Lydia was right, he just didn't want to admit it, but apparently he swallowed his pride for being worried and knew that if he continued that conversation would only take longer while VanVan could be at that moment being tortured or even about to be killed.

"Bring her back, please," Lima asked and in her voice I noticed the sadness and concern mixed in it.

"You might not even go with us , but it's thanks to you that we know where she is" I said seriously and he just stayed silent as he nodded.

Lydia and I transformed into wolves while Lima was casting a magic circle, and because I have a wizard friend, I noticed that Lima was casting a teleportation circle.

"Go quickly, before they torture or kill her" Lima said after finishing casting the spell.

"We will bring her back safe and sound" I said in my wolf form.

After I said those words, Lydia and I disappeared in front of Lima.

In the blink of an eye, Lydia and I were already inside Ibirapuera Park and now all that was left was to find my chosen one.

I started to smell the air and after just 2 seconds, I could smell Vanvan, I started to run quickly followed by Lydia behind me. I knew I shouldn't have let Lydia come along because her stitches hadn't healed yet, so I kept looking around to make sure she was okay, and apparently there was no problem at all as she did not show any pain at any time.

I took the focus off my concern for my friend and started focusing my concern only on my chosen one, who could be getting hurt, but I just hoped it would arrive as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, with Vanessa somewhere in the park, she looked in fear of what could happen to her due to a wolf that, besides being in front of her, was also growling at her and showing its canines.

The woman knew she had been kidnapped when she woke up and realized she was in an unfamiliar room, even more so since, in addition to remembering her last memory, she also knew that at no point had she drunk anything alcoholic. She remembers that she had left the room when she checked if the door was locked and it was open, She had been happy until she saw that behind her there was a wolf that looked at her angrily for seeing her try to leave the room, the woman was scared and surprised at the time, taking a step back.

Vanessa glanced around the room, looking for something to defend herself with, but unfortunately she didn't find it and when the gray-furred wolf jumped towards her to attack, she dodged and quickly ran out of the room while closing the door.

The wolf kept growling while scratching at the door, obviously trying to get out and Vanessa hurriedly left that door and started looking for a way out of the place, but, no matter how much she walked, she always ended up back in the room where the wolf was trapped, she thought it might be a maze because of how much she walked and He found several paths as he turned to each side, but then he thought about the possibility that there was something more there and that it had to do with magic.

When she got tired of walking around looking for a way out, she sat on the floor in front of the bedroom door while listening to the wolf that was still growling inside the room, she thought it was okay to rest there for a while since the canine wouldn't be able to get out, but, she was wrong and only realized it when the growls had stopped, which had been strange at first, the door to the room opened and she saw that it was a man holding the doorknob.

"Now I'll finish you, you fugitive!" exclaimed the man.

Vanessa got up to run away from that being and was terrified that she wouldn't be able to escape it, not only because she was tired, also because she noticed that the man was the gray-furred wolf and that he had transformed into his animal form.

The wolf jumped towards Vanessa, and before he could even touch the woman, he was pushed by a strong wind, causing him to be pushed away, and, he was stopped when he hit the wall.

"H-How dare you do this to me?" the wolf spoke in a pained voice.

"It's nothing personal, just a promise I'll keep," Teodoro said a few steps away from Vanessa.
