Chapter 29

Raven woke with the weight of last night still pressing at the base of her skull.

She remembered Malrik’s impossible woundlessness, Reed’s confession and the fear that had come to live in her veins.

She sought Malrik.

She found him where ash met stone, he had taken to rising before the rest of the compound, she’d noticed his silhouette when she climbed the last step and stood before him, the air felt different, as if an unseen current ran between them.

“You didn’t sleep,” she said.

Malrik looked older in the gray light, the lines at his eyes sharper as he folded his hands atop his cloak. “Some nights the world does not allow rest,” he answered. His voice held no triumph, only the steadiness of one who had watched centuries pass. “You have questions.”

Raven swallowed. “You speak in riddles. You heal, you speak of gods, and you leave me with more questions than answers. You’re a Draikos, what does that mean? Why do you know me better than I know myself?”

  • Chrome and Claws    The HollowFang Hunt

Chapter 51 The air was thick with tension as Axel and the Moonburn Riders mounted their bikes, engines growling like predators ready to hunt. The recent assassination attempt had shaken them all, leaving a trail of questions in its wake. Raven remained behind in the fortress, her green eyes sharp with worry, pacing the stone corridors as Axel organized the scouting party. She had been restrained for her safety, not to be risked against the HollowFang Pack’s remnants. Yet, sitting idly while Axel and the others rode into danger was a torment she could barely endure.Axel’s jaw was tight, as he headed toward the forest beyond the stronghold. “We move fast, and we move hard,” he barked, his voice carrying across the assembled pack. “The HollowFang are out there, and we will find whoever or whatever was behind this.” Axel led the pack like a predator at the edge of a kill, senses sharp, scanning for any sign of movement, any trace of the HollowFang Pack but the forest felt wrong, it w

  • Chrome and Claws    The Coronation

Chapter 50 The great hall of the Moonburn Riders had never looked so Breathtaking. Wolf-banners lined the stone walls, their black-and-silver insignias fluttering in the warm currents of torchlight. Every table overflowed with food, wine, and the murmured voices of gathered packs. For the first time in decades, the Riders had opened their gates to the other clans. Some had come in good faith, curious to see the Luna chosen by Axel Voss while others came hungry for weakness, scandal, trouble and for blood.Raven’s chest tightened as she stepped into the hall beside Axel, every eye turning toward them. The ceremonial dress was a flowing silver gown embroidered with moon sigils which made her feel both armored and exposed. The halo-like headpiece pressed against her temples, heavy as expectation itself.Axel’s steady hand tightened around hers, “Breathe, love." he murmured, his eyes flashing with Alpha dominance as he surveyed the hall. She nodded, though her lungs felt starved.“Prese

Chapter 49 The crack in the sky had sealed itself by morning, leaving only a bruised moon above the MoonRider pack stronghold. Raven stood before her mirror, with trembling hands and dark circles shadowing her eyes as she pinned her black hair into a loose braid. She couldn’t shake off the nightmare about the rift splitting, her own face bathed in silver fire, and her guardians kneeling in blood.“Stop looking at yourself like you’re already broken,” Axel’s voice rumbled softly from behind her.She met his gaze in the mirror, Axel's eyes were dark with worry, his shirt half-unbuttoned, and hair still damp from the bath. The Alpha carried battle scars on his body, but the concern in his expression was for her.Raven forced a smirk. “What’s wrong, Alpha? Scared your Luna’s going to outshine you tomorrow?”He moved closer, his hands brushing her shoulders. “Scared? No, but terrified you’ll forget you’re mine.”Her chest tightened, as she leaned back against him, feeling the warmth of

Chapter 48 Raven stood amidst it all, trembling, her body still pulsing with the remnants of lunar fire as the battlefield littered with broken armours, weapons and dead rogues. Her veins glowed faintly beneath her skin, the Hollow Blade whispering against her consciousness.Axel’s grip on her waist was steady, his eyes scanning her face with something between awe and fear. “What just happened to you, Raven?”Her lips trembled as she whispered, “I… I think I faced the Lunar or maybe I faced myself, I don’t know.”Malrik stepped forward, his dragon aura heavy as thunder. “No. You faced the bloodline within you and you did not conquer it, you barely bent it.The fury sleeps in you now, Raven Blackthorne, but when it wakes again…” He trailed off, his gaze grim. “It will demand blood.”Before she could speak, a mocking laugh echoed across the battlefield. The leader of the rogues, battered but still standing, leaned against his assistant. “Did you fools not see? She’s not your savior.

Chapter 47 Raven's wolf was restless, snarling at the edges of her mind as she laid on the bed. And worse, the Hollow Blade pulsed again within her vision, ghostly and hungering.“Raven.” Axel’s voice broke through the haze, his hand gripping her shoulder firmly. “Breathe Darling, you’re shaking.”She tried to steady herself, but the jagged whisper of the Hollow Blade mocked her. “You’re not strong enough and it looks like you will never be.” Malrik’s golden eyes glowed in the dark as he murmured. “This is only the beginning, the guardians are waking, but the enemy grows bolder with each spark of power you claim.”Before Raven could ask what he meant, the air outside cracked open with a sound like a splintering glass and the rain poured down in torrents. Malrik whispered. “Go to Sleep, princess. You will need all the strength you can get.”Raven wanted to respond but sleep and exhaustion overpowered her.Two days later, Raven and Axel were in the Alpha's cottage off the pack’s terr

  • Chrome and Claws    The Dragon's Fire

Chapter 46 The pack's courtyard reeked of blood and smoke, wolves limping back with silver-steeped wounds as broken blades littered the ground. The flames of the southern wall still burned, refusing to die.Raven stood amidst it all, chest heaving. Her hands shook as the Hollow Blade still pulsed in them, whispering for more blood. She’d tried to drown its call, but it clung to her like a second heartbeat.Axel came to her side, soot-streaked but unbowed, his arm bleeding freely. He was Alpha even in exhaustion as his shoulders squared, voice steady enough to hold the ten packs together.“Bury the dead and guard the walls.” His orders rolled like thunder. “This isn’t over.”Raven pressed a hand to his forearm, her voice soft. “You’re hurt.”He looked at her then, gray eyes shadowed as he held her. “Not as much as you are.”She flinched, not from his touch, but from the truth in his words. Before she could answer, Malrik Draikos stepped forward. The mysterious newcomer had been quiet
