EIRA’S POV

Morning light filtered gently through the curtains, slowly pulling me out of sleep. I blinked a few times, trying to make sense of the unfamiliar room. The sharp scent of disinfectant, the quiet noise coming from the air vent, and the heaviness in my body quickly reminded me that I wasn’t in my own bed.

I tried shifting into a sitting position, but a hand gently pressed against my shoulder.

“Easy. You shouldn’t be moving around just yet.”

I turned towards the voice and found Soren si

ELARA’S POVThe cold wind hit my face as I rushed away from the abandoned garage. I wanted nothing more than to get as far away from that place as possible, but no matter how quickly I walked, I couldn’t shake off the masked man’s words.Find someone Thorne trusts. It sounded like a simple request, but it was anything but. How was I supposed to find someone Thorne trusted when he barely let anyone get close to him? I kept going over his instructions in my head, trying to figure out who could possibly fit the description. My hand tightened around the small piece of paper he’d given me. I had no idea why I was still holding on to it. Maybe I needed something tangible to remind myself that the encounter hadn’t been a dream. A masked stranger had really approached me, offered me a way to get back at Eira, and somehow drawn me into a plan that could bring Thorne down.I shoved my hands into my pockets and continued down the road, my footsteps echoing in the quiet night. The cold air filled

ELARA’S POVEverything around me seemed to be spinning. I hurried away from the gathering, but my legs felt so weak that I could barely walk properly. The whispers and shocked reactions of the pack members kept ringing in my ears. Every word Thorne had said replayed in my head, each one making my fear worse.A witness. He had mentioned a witness. Someone who had seen what happened and could expose everything. My breathing became uneven as I pushed through the remaining crowd, desperate to get away from everyone. My chest felt tight, and my heart was beating so fast I could barely catch my breath. This couldn’t be happening.I couldn’t stop thinking about the look on Thorne’s face when he’d addressed the pack. His expression had been cold, his words firm. He hadn’t sounded like someone making empty threats. If he really had someone willing to testify against me, it was only a matter of time before he discovered the truth. And I knew Thorne well enough to understand that he wouldn’t let

EIRA’S POVSoren kept a firm hold on my elbow as he led me down the hallway. He wasn’t hurting me, but his touch felt strangely cold, and the way he kept guiding me as though I couldn’t manage a few steps on my own was beginning to irritate me.I hated feeling helpless. More than that, I hated being treated like I was made of glass.“You really don’t have to follow me everywhere,” I complained, trying to sound more confident than I felt.Soren glanced down at me, his forehead creasing.“Eira, you’re still recovering. Just let me help you.”“I can walk perfectly fine on my own,” I muttered, trying to pull my arm away. “I don’t need—”“Don’t need what?” he interrupted, his voice calm, although I could hear the warning beneath it. “Someone to look after you? Or someone to stop you from doing something foolish and ripping your stitches open just because you’re too stubborn to admit you need help?”I pressed my lips together. The annoying part was that he wasn’t wrong. I knew I wasn’t full

His brown eyes were fixed on me, and the worry written across his face was impossible to miss.“Soren?” I managed to whisper. My throat felt terribly dry, and my voice came out rough, almost as though I hadn’t spoken in days.He gave me a small smile, looking relieved that I was finally awake.“It’s me. You’re alright now. You’re safe.”Safe.I repeated the word silently, but it didn’t quite feel real. I didn’t feel sa

KAEL’S POVA couple of hours later, I was still trying to make sense of everything when Tom and Adams walked into the pack house. They were two of my father’s most trusted men, and judging by the way they carried themselves, they hadn’t come for a casual visit. They asked for Thorne.I had a dozen questions, but I kept them to myself and directed them to his room. I wanted to know what was going on, and I had a feeling their sudden arrival had something to do with whatever my brother was planning. When Thorne finally came downstairs, I stepped into his path before he could get any further.“What the hell are you up to, Thorne?” I asked, unable to hide the irritation in my voice. “I need you to stop playing games. We’re grown men, not children.”He paused on the stairs and looked back at me over his shoulder. That familiar smirk spread across his face.“Take it easy, Kael. I know what I’m doing.”“Really?” I scoffed. “Then what the hell did you tell the old man?”He ignored my question

SORENI came out of sleep with a sudden jolt, my heart thudding painfully against my chest. For a moment, I struggled to catch my breath, my fingers gripping the armrests of the chair as I tried to steady myself. My gaze immediately shifted to Eira. She was still asleep on the hospital bed, looking surprisingly peaceful despite everything that had happened. I watched her for a while, almost wishing I could trade places with her and enjoy that kind of rest. Then again, her body had been through so much that she probably needed every bit of sleep she could get.Unlike her, I felt completely drained. My muscles were stiff, and the tension running through my body made it seem as though I’d spent the entire night fighting.I rubbed my face, hoping to shake off the disturbing images still lingering in my head. But they wouldn’t go away. That endless darkness. The unbearable cold. The strange feeling that something was watching me from somewhere within the shadows. It was unlike any nightmar
