I blinked once, then twice. Actually, shock kept me motionless and speechless for a moment as I regarded Eric.

Eric smiled softly. "Oh, it turned out that he didn't tell you that. He fed you with lies, Kahlan."

" What!" I spoke eventually. " A shapeshifter?"
