I was sitting close to the most gorgeous man I had ever set my eyes on. His blue eyes stared intently at me. He had folded his black shirt up to his elbows and I couldn't stop admiring his hands which were covered in thick muscles.

"If you're done admiring me can we proceed with the matter at hand?" He smirked, making a quotation symbol with his hands.

I blushed. I do not think I have ever blushed in my life.

We were seated in Antonio's library/study. I had managed to convince Aiden to discuss our little"talk". Antonio's study was sound proof which would prevent our conversation from going out. Antonio was quite comprehensive to leave me alone with Aiden. He'd never hurt me I knew that. Mates never hurt each other.

"I wasn't looking at you." I glared at him.

His lips twitched and he leaned closer and said softly. "I can smell your arousal. Don't deny it.

I blushed deeper and cleared my throat.

"Let's stick to the agenda shall we?" I replied, and a chuckle escaped from him.

I continued.

"Look. About the whole mate thingy, I don't believe in mate bonds."

He raised an eyebrow.

"I have my own life, and a wonderful job that I love." I was going to let him know I had a fiancee, but giving the circumstances, I had to hold back to avoid any war. I would have to remember to remind him later.

"I have worked my ass off to get this job, four years of college, internship. I can't let it all slide." I continued.

He had propped his chin on his palm, elbow on the table, and he was staring at me with an amused expression which infiltrated me the more.

"Well, your wolf has chosen me, and you will be my Luna. Thats our fate." He huffed.

The look on his face said he was not open for arguments. He was the one issuing out orders, and I fucking hated that!

"No, I've worked su hard to get this job. You can't keep me locked up as your sex slave just wanting for you to return and well..... like I said earlier, I have a job, and I can't just walk away when I feel like."

"Your home is here now. Your job and entire life is here. Now please stop arguing with me." He eyes burned into mine.

I glared back at him.

"I refuse to be a housewife, sitting at home all day and being your sex toy. All that would drive me crazy. Do you want a crazy mate?"

"Honestly, you're already driving me crazy." He sighed, brushing his hand through his hair.

"Look, I know you're what ever you are. There are many job opportunities here. I own an architectural firm myself. You can work there, or you can start any business of your choice. You can do whatever the fuck you want as long as you're Luna. I don't understand why you want to stay with the humans in London. Wolves are meant to stay in a pack."

I bit my lip solemnly. He was right. My wolf also loves it when I return to the pack.

Anyway, I was in no mood to continue my living arrangements with Aiden.

"I'm not ready to be a Luna yet. We barely know each other. I know nothing about running a pack. I would be the most useless Luna ever." I muttered.

"That's something we can work on. We have our whole lives to....... you know, get to know each other. We can even start now." He grinned.

I shot him a look.

"What if we're not meant for each other?"

"We're mates for crying out loud! Our souls have been knit together. We're meant together far more than you think." He said impatiently.

He stood up from his chair and prowled towards me. He leaned against the table and looked down at me from his towering height.

"Ever since I became an adult, I've been looking for you. Now that we've finally found each other, you want to let this go? Every wolf craves for their mate. Can't you feel it? Our bond? "

I swallowed a lump. My brain had stopped functioning. I suddenly had these weird butterflies in my stomach. His musky scent was so near to me, and it was intoxicating.

"No! I feel nothing." I said stubbornly.

He sighed and looked down.

"You are very stubborn, I wonder how your brother the Alpha tolerates you." He looked into my eyes.

"My brother doesn't make unreasonable demands. He's very understanding."

So I am, I am quite a merciful Alpha actually." He said with a smirk.

"Can't we......we can just reject each other you know?" I suggested.

His eyes turned dark, and he emanated anger . I could feel the heat radiating from his body. His eyes narrowed into slits.

"No!" He yelled, "you are mine! Only mine! You hear that? So whatever doubts you have i suggest you get over it."

I shifted back, trying to melt into my chair. I felt genuine fear. His face relaxed a little, probably he smelled my fear.

Tracing my jawline with his fingers he said, "Your wolf already loves me. It would not be protecting me and ready to slit her brother's throat otherwise."

I investigated the dark expanse of his blue eyes. "I don't love you." I whispered.

"You'll learn to love me my dear. Just give yourself some time." He said in a husky voice. I could feel myself getting wet. I held the neck of my purple robe tighter.

His smirk said he could smell my arousal as well.

"Are you sure you want to be with me? I am not a naive high school dropout, I may not be able to mold myself according to what you want. What I mean is, they're many beautiful women out there more suitable for your needs." I rambled on, not sure if I was making sense or not.

"What do you know about my needs?" His words were dismissive of my claims.

"The point is, I know nothing about you. So how can I take care of you? Plus, I do not like the idea of belonging to someone. I am my own person. I am my own boss."

"You don't understand the mate bond, do you?" There was a hint of frustration in his voice.

"When I say you belong to me, I expect it to be mutual. You own me as much as I own you. I would belong to you......only you, in a true sense. We would complete each other not as a master and a slave but as equal partners ."

My resolve was evaporating like vapours from boiling water. This beautiful specimen of a man would belong to me! The idea was quite appealing.

"It took me long enough to find you, how can I reject you now? The best part of me? I am not here to imprison you. You have the freedom to do whatever you want." His voice had gone low and seductive. He said those words with so much sincerity, that my heart skipped a beat. My wolf was also drooling over him.

"I have just one condition." I eventually gathered the courage to speak.

"Finally! And what is it?" He leaned back sitting straight and looking down at me. His arms folded.

"You won't mark me until I am ready. I know it's impossible, but I need more time please." I said almost pleading.

The mate bond is incomplete unless the wolves mark each other. I would not be his official mate or Luna until the marking. I was not sure if he'd agree, I was taking a huge risk.

He frowned. "That's impossible. May I ask why you suggest so?"

"I.....I .... just want to be sure that I'll be able to love you. " I mumble incoherently.

He scanned me for some time, then finally said. " Fine. I won't mark you unless you allow it. I can't speak for my wolf though. He has a mind of his own that I wouldn't be able to control."

I nodded in approval. It means we won't shift while alone with each other, just to avoid mating.

"Having said that, you didn't say I couldn't entice you though." His lips twitched into that sexy smile, and my heart fluttered. I finally let go of the breath I was holding until now. Now I have to plan my escape.
