LOGINIt was clear as day, Ranvir was still alive. Is that even possible? It was crazy but real at the same time. I could’ve sworn he was very much dead.
“What are you?” I asked in dismay.
Ranvir didn’t seem quite alive, he looked more like an undead monster with his eyes shining white as snow. The red kept decorating me in a crimson blood color. My eyes were darting around looking for an escape route.
The pearl of death is not so common in the black market, but for some reason Ranvir has it in his possession. “I now understand why you were so confident”
I knelt down still feeling extremely weak as my blood gushed out. Ranvir walked on fours in his full transformation towards me, each step bringing my hopes of survival down. “I have to survive this, I still have a lot to achieve. I can’t die here. No! Not now!”
With the last of my strength I stood to my feet. I felt like a gorilla was placed at my behind. Ranvir began running forward, his dried blood soaked teeth on display.
I shut my eyes harnessing every energy in my body. As soon as he was up close, he stomped on my injured shoulder but at the same time i delivered three clean hits across his face.
He shook his snout and dived in again, swiping mindlessly at me. It was clear Ranvir had already gone. this was not him anymore. I moved my body in sync with the attacks dodging every death threatening strike that came my way.
I jumped on top of him landing on his back. He tried to shake me off. But with my transformed human legs I crossed his neck holding firmly to it. I bent downwards with a powerful strike to his tail, cutting it off in the process.
Ranvir seemed not to notice this as he was solely focused on getting me off of him. I had one last move to make and it had to count. At this point I was bleeding from almost every hole in my body.
I stood on Ranvir’s back and leaped in the air with skillful precision, Ranvir looked up at me as I came down again. As I got nearer to his jaws, my claws grew longer and shot out of my hands.
“Goodbye, Ranvir the feared” I muttered as the strikes all came back and each struck his neck at once. His jaws were still opened while my hands stretched out and grabbed the head leaving the body to fall soulless on the ground.
It was ironic because at the end of the day his head did end up in my hands. My body was suddenly thrown into immeasurable pain as I gasped and fell to the floor. I knew what I had to do. “I have to do it again, it is the only way I can get through this alive.”
My life was one I still couldn’t understand, werewolves don’t eat their fellow kind. They ate monsters that increased their physical capabilities depending on the grade. Werewolves were built to eat meat which they did. But for some reason I am able to eat other werewolves and my strength increases each time I do so. “Is this some kind of curse?”
I dragged my feet against the cold earth towards my enemy’s corpse. I wasn’t sure, it also could be a blessing. It’s been twenty years of my life now and I discovered this last year when I faced my first enemy. I dug in, starting from the stomach, it tasted really nice in my mouth. No, it wasn’t just nice, it was delicious, each drip of blood like the honey of the earth, I savored in delight but also in disdain as I ate through my own kind.
Something was happening again like the other times. My heart pounded louder, my injuries had already healed. “I can’t stay here, my identity could be discovered.”
I rolled myself across the ground to a hidden alleyway. My body was evolving again, getting stronger but this process wasn’t one I could do in the middle of the street as it would leave me vulnerable.
“Ahhhh” my voice echoed through the quiet night from the cracking, joining and rejoining of bones happening in my body. Those fifteen minutes felt like an eternity of suffering, sometimes I forget I'm just a child but I guess in such a cruel world one can't expect any less.
Being a citizen of Bulgaria brings one to the harsh part of reality… the state of nature. It’s all about survival of the fittest here. No one gives shit about you. If you aren’t strong enough, you'll be prey to those willing to go to lengths to survive.
My eyelids were heavy at this point as the begged to be shut. I decided to obey the will of my body and closed my eyes.
After three hours, I woke up to the heavy downpour of the rain. The alley seemed to have hidden me quite well or maybe the gods protected me. As I stood to my feet feeling rejuvenated beyond bounds.
I yearned to let out some of this energy that filled my brim. I could tell now that I was stronger than before.
I sprinted covering more distances quicker than before. I looked at my own reflection when I reached a lake near the cities rear. I watched as my hair floated through the wind like musical notes moving in harmony, the shone a smarter black.
My jawlines got so refined and connected deeply with my skin as white as snow. “Well, this is an interesting upgrade.”
“Zamora!! Our divine father, you’ve shown me today that you’re on my side, you align with my own goals, principles and ambitions. I’ll forever adore you!.” I assured, my heart filled with gratitude towards the gods.
“Im sure they’ll notice I’m not home, mother will definitely be worried” i sighed as I turned to the path that lead to my house. Blending through the shadows, I navigated the streets of Nevada the capital of Bulgaria.
My toes landed without a whisper in relative ease as I swept past buildings. I had reached home in minutes, sliding the door open, I stepped in slowly, closing it behind me.
Not seeing anyone, I made my way to my room proceeding with caution. I quickly entered and closed my door, happy no one saw me.
“You’re a standing corpse girl!.” The voice said, exposing its fury.
ELSA’S POVRodriguez looked flustered. The expression on his face revealed his embarrassment. His lips parted while making a statement but the words stuck on his tongue.“Anyways, be more careful with your lucid thoughts next time.”His hand met his hair as he scratched while looking elsewhere.“But what is this? You can hear my thoughts now?”“Yes, whenever I choose to. I can communicate telepathically also. The pack rules bind you and you will suffer if you violate them.”I turned to leave, and I had already taken a few steps when I noticed a looming shadow that stood above me. I turned back already knowing who followed me.“Elsa.”“Alex, you always pull up at the most unexpected time.”His lips curled in an elated smile as he got closer, taking me in for a warm embrace. It was the same feeling I felt every time I was with him, each time I wrapped my arms around him, there was this feeling in my heart, like it shouldn't end. But it always did. Incidentally, after thinking about thi
“You finally figured it out. It must have been a hard puzzle to solve.” Ha answered, his sarcasm obvious in his reply.“I told you to watch your back, no one humiliates me that way.” He got up from where he was, forming another fight stance.“So what is this, revenge?” I asked, stepping closer. Rodriguez was no match for me, but I liked his resilience; he wasn’t one to give up easily.“How about a deal Rodriguez?”He raised the corner of his eye. He stared at me for a while. After what felt like decades he responded“What kind of deal?”“It’s simple, if I lose this fight I’ll do whatever you say.”“No. That won’t be necessary, I intend on killing you here.” He replied, waving my words away.“Yes, you could end my life if you want.”“And what’s in it for you?” he shifted his leg, adjusting his stance to look stern.“You’ll work for me.” “Girl, you have some serious guts. You'll meet the gods today.”“Are you afraid to accept?”“Hahaha, you know what? I accept your request. This just
“Isn’t that the level four student who was angry when you turned him down?” It was Oliver who spoke and he just revealed some interesting information while looking at Isabella.“I feel sorry for him, imagine getting turned down by Isabella,” Brad said, laughing. Richard bumped his shoulders saying“Oh come on, stop messing around, you know how much of a jerk Athelstan was to Isabella.” “What did he do Isabella?” I asked. I didn't want to look too interested in the topic, so I wandered carefreely.Isabella’s face contorted in an unsettling way as she recalled the story. “Athelstan approached me in the first week of school, he professed love to me stating it was love at first sight, he said he could feel our connection… that I was his mate.”Everyone fell silent as Isabella narrated her ordeal with Athelstan.“I didn’t want to sound rude, so I just told him that I wasn’t ready for that, I also emphasized that I was a fresher. Athelstan didn't take this lightly, he felt his ego was b
“What the hell, that was so gruesome.”“She would have just targeted the eyes.”“I hate to be that beast.”“I think it was Oliver that killed the beast.”The students had a lot of opinions about the fight, especially the ghastly death of the monster. Many were surprised by the unorthodox method I chose, to kill the monster. But I didn’t really care about that, I was just glad it was over.“That was a good one… wouldn’t you agree with me, class?”It seemed mica had a few things to say as she got up to her feet.“Agree with you? We almost died Ser, this was definitely beyond a Ravage tier monster.”“Yes. It most certainly was. For those of you looking to work for the guilds and become adventurers, do you think you’ll decide the tier of the monster you’ll encounter while in there? Werewolves have only covered fifteen percent of the Elshire forest, with so many mysterious and unknown creatures yet to be discovered.”He paused, his gaze turned to me suddenly, it was as though he was tryin
“Oliver, it's right behind you!” I screamed out, to Oliver. He jumped up avoiding the strike to the leg delivered by the giant spider.Just minutes ago we had discussed our strengths to devise ways to end it quickly. Oliver and Benjamin were placed as our offensives considering they were stronger.“I want to be on the offensive too.” I said out loud, deciding not to be quiet.“What? You wanna get yourself killed?” Benjamin replied, his eyes seemed to be weighing me. “Besides, we will really need you guys to back us up on the defensive.” He added.“Thelma, be on the look out for the weak spot, you might notice while we are attacking.” Oliver said, releasing what looked like a trident. It wasn’t a lycan weapon but I could tell it was lethal. The spider had already revealed itself fully now. It was tall, reaching half the height of the colosseum. “Woahh!” Mica exclaimed, dodging a web that came from its mouth. It roared in anger, going straight for her again. Oliver rushed in with his
“What did you just say?” Daniel replied with a raised brow.“I mean… I don’t know if I’m strong enough to take him out.”“That is your problem. Do not disappoint the alpha.”“What if I get killed or caught doing this task?”“Then you should be proud of dying for your Alpha. But if you get caught, you know better than to mention his involvement in it. I wish you the best of luck child, try not to die yet. You interest me.” He replied heading to the stairway.Great, now I’m tasked to kill an innocent person. I can’t do that. It just makes me part of the system I fight against. I didn’t want to follow the stairway so I used the balcony again, bringing myself all the way down. Jumping and sliding down different platforms till I was back in the hallway I took off from earlier.I just had a few minutes more before my lecture, I sprinted as fast as I could, I left the castle grounds in seconds, the lecture wasn’t held in one of the many spaces in the school, rather it was held in the school
