The room was quite simple displaying a mini sized bed on the floor, the floors had a faint milk color and gothic looking painting. Although the building was old and worn out, it seemed the room had been well maintained by the occupant.

“Mother, you should be resting, why are you still up?” I asked, rubbing my already sweaty palms on my jeans. She didn’t seem to be happy at all.

“Elsa, where have you been and you had better not lie to me.”

“Mom, I just stepped out to get some fresh air.” She stood up, walking towards me.

“Elsa, I don’t need to tell you how unsafe this country is. You’ve lived here all your life and you know this already.”

“Mom you’ve to trust me, I’ll be fine, I’m old enough to take care of myself.” When I said this, the facade she had been holding up dropped as I saw her squeeze her face in sadness.

“You don’t understand Elsa, this is not just about you being old enough to take care of yourself. The society we live in is too dangerous, anyone could be gone at any moment… I can't lose you my love.” Mom seemed to be breaking down, I guess my reply did hurt her a lot.

I think I just reminded her that I’m a grownup not her little baby anymore. “I’m really sorry mother, I know you only care about my well being.”

I rushed towards her, circling my arms around her to a warm embrace. “I’ll be more careful going forward.” Reassuring her I gently let her go. Mom had the most beautiful golden eyes I’ve ever seen, each strand of hair a testimony of perfection, she always walked with elegance and demeanor. She reeked of beauty, and yes, that's where my beauty stems from.

Most people get the impression that she is from an elite home, but no, my mom is just a retailer across the road struggling like most people in the country. We hardly eat three times a day. Being werewolves, we are required to consume enough meat daily.

She and dad always struggled to ensure I was looked after. “That’s enough just do well to inform me whenever you’re stepping out, the world is really a terrible place.”

“I will do that, I promise mom, and I'm sorry for keeping you worried.” My smile was so contagious she had to join me.

“Now now my child, go to bed. It’s a good thing your dad is asleep, you know the nature of his work, he came back quite exhausted today. I'm sure he would have reprimanded you.” Mom said in a teasing manner.

“Of course not momma, dad knows I'm a strong, young and independent werewolf.”

“Sure, whatever makes you sleep at night.” She said, shaking my cheeks gently.

“Ohh and yes you will be stepping in for me tomorrow at the shop, you know we are almost out of goods, I have to restock.” I buried my face into the pillow in anguish. I didn’t like staying at the shop all day but I had to, there was no other choice or else I wanted to starve.

“Okay mom, goodnight” she pecked me on the cheek before saying goodnight and left, closing the door. Letting out a deep sigh, I faced the ceiling as my own thoughts buried me.

With this advantage of mine I could be someone extraordinarily powerful, why would the gods grant someone like me such power. “Zelda god of talents, do you grant me such power?” I asked myself hypothetically. The energy… I could feel it in me. I had the potential to be the greatest werewolf that will ever walk the planet.

This was why I became the night angel in the first place, to protect the weak as much as I can. Because, with great power comes great responsibility. I understood this quite well. Bulgaria was the most dangerous country on earth and I lived in its capital Nevada.

I remember vividly the night I found out I had such power. I was abducted by two werewolves, while going to see my dad at his duty post.

“Mmmhh let me be.” I screamed as they cornered me in the streets and covered my mouth with a muddy rag. It happened beside a clothing store, nobody cared to interfere, for fear of being targeted.

I was too weak to fight back and they knew it, it was just a year ago but I can still picture it like it’s happening right now. What hurt more was the fact that they targeted a youngling like myself.

They wore cloaks and covered their faces. The first one looked taller and he held my hands while the short one covered my mouth to stop me from shouting.

“She will definitely make a good slave huh brother, don't you think so.”

“Yes baldur, our clients will definitely love a young female wolf as a slave, who will fulfill all of their desires.” Their smiles portrayed evil intentions and I knew I was in so much trouble.

“Please let me live, I beg of you.” I could already taste the salt in my tears as it streamed down my face and to my mouth.

“Haha take a look at that Osborne, she she she is pleading for her life, perhaps we should spare her.” The sarcasm betraying the statement. Osborne’s eyes were sizing me up as baldur, the shorter one tied my hands together and carried me on his back.

I knew there wasn’t even any point in transforming to my full werewolf self because they could still subdue me. I could only ask that the gods spare my life.

We had reached an old model Toyota in which I was placed at the back seat with baldur. After what seemed like hours, we arrived at a warehouse in the middle of a farm that stretched wild. We were obviously not in the city anymore.

In great haste they dragged me out of the car, I tried to struggle but I felt a powerful backhand across my face from baldur. I could taste the iron in my mouth. “You bitch. You had better behave well or you’ll be beaten to a pulp.”

He spitted on me in distaste and ununderstandable hatred. “Come on be quick, bring her inside first. You know we are still outside. We’ll teach her a lesson then.” Osborne said, displaying his horrid set of teeth.

I was dragged inside my legs scratching and bumping into stones. The iron doors were opened, hanging loose. The inside wasn’t any better as I could see the peels in the wall, faded paint and the air had a heavy scent of blood and death.

“Welcome to the black market, child.” Of course I had already figured they were part of the black market, I was no fool. Looking around carefully I could see body parts of werewolves, elixirs, and rare monster parts.

“Tell me your name child.” Osborne asked.

“I’m Elsa.” The fear in my voice betraying my supposed poise.

“Well Elsa, it’s too bad you’re the unlucky werewolf that was caught today. You can’t imagine what we plan to do with you.

“No one will hear about this. I promise you that, please just let me go.”

“I trust you. You’re right, I believe you won’t tell anyone about this if I decide to let you go. But it doesn’t matter now does it? Who will you report us to even if we let you? It’s all about survival of the fittest. Be the victor of the victim.” His eyes, trying to pierce my soul with his words.

“Tell me who would you report to? Oh the gods maybe, The soldiers or maybe the guild? The guild only cares about hunting monsters and nothing else.” He declared with conviction.

“Hey Osborne, our clients are taking so much of our time. So what do we do in the meantime? I'm getting quite bored already.”

“Tell me baldur, don't you think Elsa will make a good consort.”

“Of course she’ll take a look at those yummy bosoms.”

“I’m sure you would like to know what she tastes like baldur, wouldn’t you? How about we have a taste of our goods before giving it to our client.”

“You know, just to be certain that you’ll be an asset to our customers like we presume.” I could feel a lump in my throat at the realization of what they planned to do to me. Baldur had already begun to laugh in a maniacal manner.

Osborne walked up to me, he knelt down loosening what bounded my hands. I targeted his throat and punched him with all my might. He coughed in pain as his brother Baldur came down on me, pinning my legs to the cold earth beneath me.

“Please don’t do this, I'm a virgin.” I pleaded. They didn’t listen. Osborne had gotten himself now. He laughed and tore the cloth that protected my bosom. My breasts danced in the twilight as fear invaded every part of me.

Osborne turned me face down to the earth. He pressed my bosoms with greed and lustful eyes. “Oh my they are so wonderful. Haha.”

“Don’t fight it dear, there’s always a first time for everything.” He said, his tone unwavering.

I felt the down parts of cloth leave my body as the night’s breeze kissed my skin.

ELSA’S POVRodriguez looked flustered. The expression on his face revealed his embarrassment. His lips parted while making a statement but the words stuck on his tongue.“Anyways, be more careful with your lucid thoughts next time.”His hand met his hair as he scratched while looking elsewhere.“But what is this? You can hear my thoughts now?”“Yes, whenever I choose to. I can communicate telepathically also. The pack rules bind you and you will suffer if you violate them.”I turned to leave, and I had already taken a few steps when I noticed a looming shadow that stood above me. I turned back already knowing who followed me.“Elsa.”“Alex, you always pull up at the most unexpected time.”His lips curled in an elated smile as he got closer, taking me in for a warm embrace. It was the same feeling I felt every time I was with him, each time I wrapped my arms around him, there was this feeling in my heart, like it shouldn't end. But it always did. Incidentally, after thinking about thi

“You finally figured it out. It must have been a hard puzzle to solve.” Ha answered, his sarcasm obvious in his reply.“I told you to watch your back, no one humiliates me that way.” He got up from where he was, forming another fight stance.“So what is this, revenge?” I asked, stepping closer. Rodriguez was no match for me, but I liked his resilience; he wasn’t one to give up easily.“How about a deal Rodriguez?”He raised the corner of his eye. He stared at me for a while. After what felt like decades he responded“What kind of deal?”“It’s simple, if I lose this fight I’ll do whatever you say.”“No. That won’t be necessary, I intend on killing you here.” He replied, waving my words away.“Yes, you could end my life if you want.”“And what’s in it for you?” he shifted his leg, adjusting his stance to look stern.“You’ll work for me.” “Girl, you have some serious guts. You'll meet the gods today.”“Are you afraid to accept?”“Hahaha, you know what? I accept your request. This just

“Isn’t that the level four student who was angry when you turned him down?” It was Oliver who spoke and he just revealed some interesting information while looking at Isabella.“I feel sorry for him, imagine getting turned down by Isabella,” Brad said, laughing. Richard bumped his shoulders saying“Oh come on, stop messing around, you know how much of a jerk Athelstan was to Isabella.” “What did he do Isabella?” I asked. I didn't want to look too interested in the topic, so I wandered carefreely.Isabella’s face contorted in an unsettling way as she recalled the story. “Athelstan approached me in the first week of school, he professed love to me stating it was love at first sight, he said he could feel our connection… that I was his mate.”Everyone fell silent as Isabella narrated her ordeal with Athelstan.“I didn’t want to sound rude, so I just told him that I wasn’t ready for that, I also emphasized that I was a fresher. Athelstan didn't take this lightly, he felt his ego was b

“What the hell, that was so gruesome.”“She would have just targeted the eyes.”“I hate to be that beast.”“I think it was Oliver that killed the beast.”The students had a lot of opinions about the fight, especially the ghastly death of the monster. Many were surprised by the unorthodox method I chose, to kill the monster. But I didn’t really care about that, I was just glad it was over.“That was a good one… wouldn’t you agree with me, class?”It seemed mica had a few things to say as she got up to her feet.“Agree with you? We almost died Ser, this was definitely beyond a Ravage tier monster.”“Yes. It most certainly was. For those of you looking to work for the guilds and become adventurers, do you think you’ll decide the tier of the monster you’ll encounter while in there? Werewolves have only covered fifteen percent of the Elshire forest, with so many mysterious and unknown creatures yet to be discovered.”He paused, his gaze turned to me suddenly, it was as though he was tryin

“Oliver, it's right behind you!” I screamed out, to Oliver. He jumped up avoiding the strike to the leg delivered by the giant spider.Just minutes ago we had discussed our strengths to devise ways to end it quickly. Oliver and Benjamin were placed as our offensives considering they were stronger.“I want to be on the offensive too.” I said out loud, deciding not to be quiet.“What? You wanna get yourself killed?” Benjamin replied, his eyes seemed to be weighing me. “Besides, we will really need you guys to back us up on the defensive.” He added.“Thelma, be on the look out for the weak spot, you might notice while we are attacking.” Oliver said, releasing what looked like a trident. It wasn’t a lycan weapon but I could tell it was lethal. The spider had already revealed itself fully now. It was tall, reaching half the height of the colosseum. “Woahh!” Mica exclaimed, dodging a web that came from its mouth. It roared in anger, going straight for her again. Oliver rushed in with his

“What did you just say?” Daniel replied with a raised brow.“I mean… I don’t know if I’m strong enough to take him out.”“That is your problem. Do not disappoint the alpha.”“What if I get killed or caught doing this task?”“Then you should be proud of dying for your Alpha. But if you get caught, you know better than to mention his involvement in it. I wish you the best of luck child, try not to die yet. You interest me.” He replied heading to the stairway.Great, now I’m tasked to kill an innocent person. I can’t do that. It just makes me part of the system I fight against. I didn’t want to follow the stairway so I used the balcony again, bringing myself all the way down. Jumping and sliding down different platforms till I was back in the hallway I took off from earlier.I just had a few minutes more before my lecture, I sprinted as fast as I could, I left the castle grounds in seconds, the lecture wasn’t held in one of the many spaces in the school, rather it was held in the school
