It was clear he had no intention of giving up anytime soon and I was starting to get worn out. “Tell me is this any way to treat a lady?” I taunted. “You’re a worthless piece of shit like everyone in this damn country”.
“I might be a piece of shit but I tell you at the end of this fight, I’ll have your head on my paws”
I sprinted forward with a little fear in my mind. I knew this wasn’t just any rogue werewolf, it was ranvir the feared. He was like the boogeyman for kids my age. Ranvir always targeted younger werewolves to kill in the most ruthless manner possible.
He tightened his jaws in anger as I drew nearer. I transformed my right and left hands only into my werewolf self and delivered punch after punch. “How brave of you to face me directly, you must feel you’re blessed by the gods” he laughed hysterically as each punch landed on him. It was clear the hits had impacts but rogue werewolves were crazy, so I wasn’t even surprised seeing this.
I extended my claws and stabbed him in his heed at the bottom of his belly, his eyes widened as blood trickled down his mouth. “Never underestimate or doubt your enemy, nor overestimate her weakness. Your death will bring justice for the many lives you’ve taken in Bulgaria”.
“I think you’ve said enough for your age, lad. Do you really think it’s over!” His eyes exuded darkness as he pounced on me. I removed my claws from him and crossed them to protect myself from his onslaught.
I could hear my muscles scream in pain as blood oozed from my shoulder, at this point I was already reaching my limit and Ranvir though wounded wasn’t showing any sign of stopping.
I knew if I wanted to end this fast, I had to do so with my head. “Oh rogue wolf, how could you maximize such an amount of energy on a little child like myself isn't that unfair?!”. “No, I have to since it turns out you’re a pain in the neck.”
“Now I know why you’re a rogue dog, your cowardice precedes you.” I said with a hoarse voice.
“You don’t know anything lad, I didn’t choose to be an exiled, rogue wolf I was betrayed by my country, my very own people. After everything I did for the alpha he slept with my wife and named me a traitor, as if that wasn’t enough he killed my beautiful kids”
“You might be right, but the deaths you’ve inflicted on others won’t bring back your kids.”
“Kid, the world we live in today doesn’t give shit about right or wrong, only interest and gain.”
Ranvir was already on top of me pinning me to the hard concrete ground. As we spoke my right hand went to my leg, I took out an elixir which I never intended on utilizing today. But I was running out of options.
“Ranvir, there is such a thing as right in the world. I fight for that everyday, not just me but some others who also believe in good. It’s people like you who taint the world in their delusion of what they perceive to be justice.”
I quickly shattered the elixir to the ground, leaving the air in a smoky grey hue which left only my vision. “Brat! I had a feeling it was weird you could stand up against me for so long. It’s you! You’re the night angel.”
“Well, that's the last secret you’ll ever know.” I said releasing my cold intent.
“Night angel, you sure do know how to talk about justice, in a country where evil is the order of the day.”
The elixir had begun its job as Ranvir wailed in pain in the hue. He slashed at the emptiness. The elixir inflicted pain on his body, Ranvir rubbed his eyes uncontrollably in agony.
This was my chance, I charged in, fully transformed as muscles teared and my eyes shorn a fiery red, dashing forward round the rogue wolf, my claws landed on his shoulder tearing a big chunk of flesh, then another at the back of his legs, then slashed a curve at his belly.
Everything depended on this moment because I knew he was my biggest opponent so far, and one mistake could land me in jeopardy.
“Tell me Ranvir what do you think of yourself now that this youngling is overpowering and beating you to a pulp” I asked him.
“Ahhhh, you’re the Night Angel, the justice of the fallen. How can you compare yourself to a normal teenage werewolf” Ranvir groaned.
“But at the end of the day, I am still just a child mind you. You know what they say, desperate times call for desperate measures, I am your end.”
“Hahaha, you see damn child, I was once part of the army of Andovia, a country known for its powerful military strength, a minor vigilante cannot take me down.”
“And yet you bend a knee before me.” I retorted. The pouncing hadn’t ended yet as I continued to deliver slice after slice to every part of Ranvir's body. He had no energy left to stand but I still wondered why he spoke so confidently like he had the upper hand.
This sent shivers down my spine. After twenty minutes of gashing and slicing I slowed down once I noticed he was on the floor in his own pool of blood.
“You are such a coward for targeting younglings, it shows how weak you’re. If truly you're a man you would have gone for the adults or even the Alpha himself who did this to you.”
“Unfortunately for you, you fell for my trap and targeted me with your fate already sealed by my hands.”
The smoke had already faded exposing the dead wolf on the ground. As I turned to leave, I felt a sudden slash.
What was that… I reached up to my neck fresh. Thick blood. It was mine. It can’t be.
I thought he was dead. No. I was sure he was dead.
ELSA’S POVRodriguez looked flustered. The expression on his face revealed his embarrassment. His lips parted while making a statement but the words stuck on his tongue.“Anyways, be more careful with your lucid thoughts next time.”His hand met his hair as he scratched while looking elsewhere.“But what is this? You can hear my thoughts now?”“Yes, whenever I choose to. I can communicate telepathically also. The pack rules bind you and you will suffer if you violate them.”I turned to leave, and I had already taken a few steps when I noticed a looming shadow that stood above me. I turned back already knowing who followed me.“Elsa.”“Alex, you always pull up at the most unexpected time.”His lips curled in an elated smile as he got closer, taking me in for a warm embrace. It was the same feeling I felt every time I was with him, each time I wrapped my arms around him, there was this feeling in my heart, like it shouldn't end. But it always did. Incidentally, after thinking about thi
“You finally figured it out. It must have been a hard puzzle to solve.” Ha answered, his sarcasm obvious in his reply.“I told you to watch your back, no one humiliates me that way.” He got up from where he was, forming another fight stance.“So what is this, revenge?” I asked, stepping closer. Rodriguez was no match for me, but I liked his resilience; he wasn’t one to give up easily.“How about a deal Rodriguez?”He raised the corner of his eye. He stared at me for a while. After what felt like decades he responded“What kind of deal?”“It’s simple, if I lose this fight I’ll do whatever you say.”“No. That won’t be necessary, I intend on killing you here.” He replied, waving my words away.“Yes, you could end my life if you want.”“And what’s in it for you?” he shifted his leg, adjusting his stance to look stern.“You’ll work for me.” “Girl, you have some serious guts. You'll meet the gods today.”“Are you afraid to accept?”“Hahaha, you know what? I accept your request. This just
“Isn’t that the level four student who was angry when you turned him down?” It was Oliver who spoke and he just revealed some interesting information while looking at Isabella.“I feel sorry for him, imagine getting turned down by Isabella,” Brad said, laughing. Richard bumped his shoulders saying“Oh come on, stop messing around, you know how much of a jerk Athelstan was to Isabella.” “What did he do Isabella?” I asked. I didn't want to look too interested in the topic, so I wandered carefreely.Isabella’s face contorted in an unsettling way as she recalled the story. “Athelstan approached me in the first week of school, he professed love to me stating it was love at first sight, he said he could feel our connection… that I was his mate.”Everyone fell silent as Isabella narrated her ordeal with Athelstan.“I didn’t want to sound rude, so I just told him that I wasn’t ready for that, I also emphasized that I was a fresher. Athelstan didn't take this lightly, he felt his ego was b
“What the hell, that was so gruesome.”“She would have just targeted the eyes.”“I hate to be that beast.”“I think it was Oliver that killed the beast.”The students had a lot of opinions about the fight, especially the ghastly death of the monster. Many were surprised by the unorthodox method I chose, to kill the monster. But I didn’t really care about that, I was just glad it was over.“That was a good one… wouldn’t you agree with me, class?”It seemed mica had a few things to say as she got up to her feet.“Agree with you? We almost died Ser, this was definitely beyond a Ravage tier monster.”“Yes. It most certainly was. For those of you looking to work for the guilds and become adventurers, do you think you’ll decide the tier of the monster you’ll encounter while in there? Werewolves have only covered fifteen percent of the Elshire forest, with so many mysterious and unknown creatures yet to be discovered.”He paused, his gaze turned to me suddenly, it was as though he was tryin
“Oliver, it's right behind you!” I screamed out, to Oliver. He jumped up avoiding the strike to the leg delivered by the giant spider.Just minutes ago we had discussed our strengths to devise ways to end it quickly. Oliver and Benjamin were placed as our offensives considering they were stronger.“I want to be on the offensive too.” I said out loud, deciding not to be quiet.“What? You wanna get yourself killed?” Benjamin replied, his eyes seemed to be weighing me. “Besides, we will really need you guys to back us up on the defensive.” He added.“Thelma, be on the look out for the weak spot, you might notice while we are attacking.” Oliver said, releasing what looked like a trident. It wasn’t a lycan weapon but I could tell it was lethal. The spider had already revealed itself fully now. It was tall, reaching half the height of the colosseum. “Woahh!” Mica exclaimed, dodging a web that came from its mouth. It roared in anger, going straight for her again. Oliver rushed in with his
“What did you just say?” Daniel replied with a raised brow.“I mean… I don’t know if I’m strong enough to take him out.”“That is your problem. Do not disappoint the alpha.”“What if I get killed or caught doing this task?”“Then you should be proud of dying for your Alpha. But if you get caught, you know better than to mention his involvement in it. I wish you the best of luck child, try not to die yet. You interest me.” He replied heading to the stairway.Great, now I’m tasked to kill an innocent person. I can’t do that. It just makes me part of the system I fight against. I didn’t want to follow the stairway so I used the balcony again, bringing myself all the way down. Jumping and sliding down different platforms till I was back in the hallway I took off from earlier.I just had a few minutes more before my lecture, I sprinted as fast as I could, I left the castle grounds in seconds, the lecture wasn’t held in one of the many spaces in the school, rather it was held in the school
