Eight

TIA'S POV

The teacher asked me to introduce myself to the class.

Lucy was talking with a red-haired girl seated in the corner.

“ I'm Tia and my parents and I just moved into the pack.” I said and the whole class went silent.” So, Tia, welcome to Central High. Find a seat.” He pointed to the empty seat in the middle.” Thank you.” I walked over and sat down.

I pulled out my old notebook and a pen.

I started jotting down some notes for later. I was accustomed to doing that, and I did it most of the time.

I prefer making my own slides to using the teacher's own.

“ Okay, class today's assignment is….” He wrote the assignment on the board.” I'm taking them tomorrow, no excuses.” He warned before leaving the class.

I hemmed a sign and shoved my note in my backpack.

“ Hello, you didn't tell me your name.” Lucy walked up to me with a smile.” Tia.” I said and she waved me off playfully.” I heard it earlier.” she said and nodded.

“ Cafeteria?” She asked but I hesitated before nodding my head.” I'm sure you will like the food.” She assured me.

“ Central High has one of the best cafeterias in the whole country. In my next life, I want to be a part of this pack.” She whispered the last part and I understood because the school has human students.

We walked into the cafeteria. It was huge, clean with tables scattered.

Each table has two short benches that could accommodate two people so each table was designed to accommodate four students.

I picked up the beautiful aroma of food lingering in the air and the different kinds of perfume that stood weakly in the air like a buried corpse.

“ Salad or barbecue?” Lucy asked as we walked to the food table, joined the queue and patiently waited for our turn.

“ Is perfect but I will go for a barbecue because it has meat,” Lucy advised me and I glared at the student who had just taken her food and was leaving to find a seat.

“ Barbecue,” I said to the woman serving and she picked a plate and began serving me.

After grabbing our food we went to sit at the empty table in the corner.

Soon the red-haired girl joined with her own tray of food.

“ I'm Remy.” She said as she sat down beside Lucy.

“ Tia “ I replied.

After eating we headed back to class. Just like Lucy advised, the barbecue was great and I enjoyed it.

After class Lucy offered to walk me back to the pack building since my dad didn't come to pick me up and she happened to be going the same direction.

We had a few talks on the way and before I realized we were in front of the pack house. Lucy didn't ask why I was living in the main pack house instead of living with my parents and I was glad she didn't.

I waved her before heading inside to my room.

I growled as I sat on the bed. The room was cleaned and my bedspread was changed.

I noticed because I remember leaving my nightdress on the bed.

I pulled open the closet and my clothes were neatly arranged inside.

I raised a brow.

The omegas in this pack seemed to be attentive.

The arrangement of my clothes was done perfectly and it was based on colors. The full colors on one side, the white in the middle, and the bright colors on the other side.

I pulled off my dress and went into the shower to shower before resting my head.

The minute I stepped out of the bathroom my phone began ringing and it was my mom.

“ How was your first day, Tia?” My mom asked and sat on the bed with only a white towel around my chest.

“ Great “ I said with a smile recalling Lucy and Remy.

For now, they were the only friends I had in the world aside from my parents.

“ The food at the cafeteria is unexpectedly good “ I told her and she chuckled.

“ I just wanted to know how your day went but judging from your words I don't think I have anything to worry about “ I nodded.

“ Mom, I have an assignment to finish. I will call you later.” I said and hugged up afterwards.

I laid my phone on the bed and walked over to the closet to find something to wear.

I felt a bit hungry but I decided to do my assignment first. It might be too early but I wanted to finish it if possible.

I sat by the study table and opened my backpack where my book was.

I didn't realize the question falls under Pythagoras theory.

One of the most difficult mathematics topics, well it wasn't one of my favorites.

Five minutes passed and I had yet to write anything.

I couldn't understand the question so I didn't know what to answer.

That was so much for a new student. I let out a sigh and leaned back in my seat with my hand, not sure how to go about it.

I grabbed my notes and tried to read a little more than I had from my previous pack but then I realized I didn't understand anything about Pythagoras theory.

At the instant, I regretted not taking Lucy's or Remy's number.

Maybe one of them understands one or two.

How was I going to solve this math problem?

I remember the teacher saying he didn't want any excuse therefore everyone must submit their work tomorrow.

I did some research online and they gave me examples.

I even watched YouTube videos on the topic trying to understand it but it confused me more.

I finally gave up.

My head was already hurting from trying so hard.

I walked downstairs, hoping to find the eating area.

The last time, Beta Vincent talked about not coming down to eat.

In my flat slippers and a pink jumper. I slipped and before I could hit the hard floor a strong hand grabbed me from the side.

The familiar scent of the after rain rushed into my nostrils and something inside me stirred awake.

I didn't know what that was but I felt as if something inside me had come alive.

" Are you okay?" he asked in his deep, cold voice, his left hand still wrapped around my waist.

His red eyes are not leaving mine.

" Alpha Orion, two of the pups are ready to shift tonight." A man in a white coat walked in on us and I immediately stepped away from him.

" I will leave the rest to you," he says and walks away.

" Are you hungry?" he asked and I was about to shake my head when he grabbed my wrist and started towards the entrance.

" Where are you taking me?" I asked but he didn't stop or respond.

He just pulled me gently out of the building and when we were outside he opened his car door for me.

I hesitated before getting in.

After a few minutes, he stopped in front of a huge building. It was about three minutes drive from the main pack block.

" Where is this place?" I asked turning my gaze to him." I will take you back when you are done." he said, ignoring my question completely.

I followed him into the building and it was just like I expected.

" Is this your place?" I asked and he hemmed walking into the open kitchen space.

He washed his hands as soon as he stepped into the kitchen.

" What do you want to eat?" he asked, looking at me with those cold red eyes. His eyes were beautiful even though scary and his features were no exception.

" Have you thought about what you want to eat?" his deep voice crashed into my thoughts and I swallowed.

" Barbecue." I said the word before I could think." Have some juice while I make you some barbecue." he handed me a glass of orange juice.

If he was this nice then why was the world so afraid of him?

The barbecue was ready after a few minutes and he served me with mango juice.

I couldn't wait to dig in.

It looked appetizing. My mouth watered just by looking at it.

" Try it." he said and I picked the fork to dig in only for the door to push open." Orion." Beta Vincent walked in sweating.

" Words of you finding your mate have spread and now six rogues have been found trying to get into the pack," he said before he noticed me sitting on a stool at the kitchen island.

A low growl slid out of Orion's throat and I froze.

" Wait for me," he warned before following his beta out.

Has he found his mate?
