TIA'S POV

I took a step back and swallowed.” Do you have any other thing you want to ask, the pack, or maybe me?” He asked softly, meeting my eyes.

Him?

What was there to ask about him? Not like I could ask him something like that directly.” Is there?”

I immediately shook my head and averted my gaze.

Something about Joe looked at me felt weird and right at the same time.

“ No, there is nothing.” He stepped back with a curt nod.

" You can go and get ready for your first day tomorrow," he said.

I stepped out of his office and a wide smile showing on my face.

Was I going back to school this soon? I mean I knew I would definitely go back to school but I didn't think it would be this soon.

We just arrived here, and Mom told me to sit for a while as they sort things out. I didn't know what they were sorting out because I knew they weren't poor but agreed anyway.

And the school here was expensive. I have heard little about it.

Central High. It's one of the elite schools in the world and it has both humans and werewolves.

I have always wondered how humans and werewolves could blend and attend the same school but here I was seeing it for myself.

I pulled my phone from my pocket and dialed my mother's number.” Tia, is everything okay?” She picked up almost immediately.

Her voice sounded a bit dull

“ Mom, are you okay?” I asked. It took a few seconds for her to reply and say she was fine and then she was missing me around the house.

I knew how she felt because we had never been apart before. This was the first time we were apart.

“ You have to tell me why you called, Tia.” She said and I smiled.

“ I'm just coming from Alpha Orion's office and he said I can start school tomorrow.” I said excitedly.” Did he?” Mom was even shocked.

“ Are you sure he said that?”

“ He did and my room in the pack house is huge, Mom. It's actually more comfortable than I imagined.” I added and she suggested I switch to a video call.

I agreed and switched.

The first thing I noticed in her surroundings was the kitchen cabinet.

“ I'm making food for your father, he will be here in a few minutes.” I nodded as I walked towards the pack house without looking ahead.

I was excited.

The idea of going back to school made me excited because that meant an actual start over.

I can study and become like my mom.” Aren't you there yet?” My mom asked and I looked ahead.

“ Almost, mom.” I turned the phone into my left hand.

“ I'm there,” I said as I began climbing the stairs. I switched the camera so she could take a look around.

A few pups walked past me but not without staring at me.

“ Are you ready to see my room?” I asked and she smiled.” One, Two, Three!” I pushed the door open and let the camera move around.

“ This is your room?” Mom asked with a blank expression and I showed her the study table.

“ Your room is perfect. Tia.” She finally said and I smiled brightly.

“ This is more than I have hoped for.” She added with a warm smile.

" I should personally thank Alpha Orion." Mom said.

“ Hello, Tia.” My dad waved with a smile.” Hi, Dad.” I waved back as I sat on the edge of my bed.

It was actually softer than any bed I have slept on. “ We miss you. Tia.” My mom says, leaning into my dad.

“ I miss you too,” I replied, and my dad wrapped his hands around her lovingly.

My parents were fated mates and I have always wanted a mate like my dad. Loving, caring, and understanding but unfortunately that would never come true.

It was a shattered dream. Cade Adams destroyed that dream and I would never forgive him.

“ Mom, I have to go,” I said, waving at them before hugging up and lying on the bed.

I missed my parents. I stared blankly at the ceiling.

I didn't know how long I was supposed to stay here but I was already missing them and I hoped I would see them soon.

I scroll through my phone, and for some reason, I ended up on F******k, not like I planned to. I accidentally stumbled on a post of Leona and Cade Adams.

Strangely I didn't feel anything. I used to feel hurt and betrayed but not anymore.

And for the first time, I thought he wasn't as handsome as I thought.

My mind foolishly drifted to Alpha Orion and how handsome he was and how perfect he was.

His mysterious three colored eyes. I love the red one better.

' God Tia!' I tell atysekf internally.

Was I fantasizing about the alpha?

I shook my head and continued scrolling through Leona's account and checking out her post to distract myself.

I saw old pictures of her and Cade.

I wasn't surprised they had pictures together because they have been friends since I could remember and are now mates.

I shoved my phone on the bed and stared up at the ceiling once again.

It seems I would never be mated or have a mate of my own.

I turned on my side and soon fell asleep.

I felt a presence in the room but I was too lazy to open my eyes.

It was strange how I fell asleep faster. I find it hard to fall asleep in unfamiliar places.

I heard the door close or was it my imagination?

Well, I woke up at the sound of a knock on the door and when I went to get it I saw a beta Vincent standing behind my door with a bag.

I wasn't sure what he wanted but I wasn't in a hurry to close the door.” You didn't come down to eat dinner so I had the omegas pack something for you.” I stared at the bag not sure what this was about because he had been too nice to me.

Uncomfortable nice.

“ I don't think I'm hungry, I will pass.” The moment the words left my mouth my stomach decided to embarrass me.

It growled and Beta Vincent let out a small smile that shifted the coldness sitting in his eyes.

“ Are you sure?” He asked, still smiling.

I wished the ground could open and swallow me but I guess I would have to take it.

“ Okay, Orion asked me to bring it to you.” He explained and I felt more uncomfortable.

Everyone knew who Alpha Orion was.

Why do I feel like he was being too kind to me?

Or was he this kind to everyone here?

" If you don't take it he will be here himself," he warned, handing it over.

Was that a threat?

“ I don't think you want him here.” I swallowed before taking the bag.

“ Great choice,” he said before turning to leave.

I shut my door and before I could make myself comfortable another knock came on the door.

I growl before getting up to go get it.” Are you bringing...." I stopped when I realized it wasn't him.

"Oh, hi," I said softly.

" Good evening miss," She greeted politely.” I'm here to deliver an extra blanket.”

" Oh." I noticed the blanket she was holding and immediately took it.

I thanked her before shutting the door.

I set it on the study table and went for the bag of food.

I actually needed it.

The next day was Wednesday and my first day in school.

I woke up early, no alarm or my mom yelling from downstairs and reminding me that I was going to be late.

The first thing I did was to choose what I was going to wear and I figured it out faster than I thought.

I headed to the huge bathroom and pulled off everything I was wearing before stepping under the shower.

Most first days occur on Mondays but mine happened on Wednesday. I didn't think much about it as I was excited to get back to school.

I put on a pair of blue jeans and a white club top which I paired with a pink jacket.

I wore pink sneakers and a pink backpack. I loved girly stuff.

To my surprise, my father was waiting for me outside the pack house.

" Dad?" I wasn't expecting nor did I think about how I was going to get to the school.

" Get in darling." he hugged me with a smile." You look great." he complimented.

I got into the front seat and after a few minutes, the car pulled over in front of a huge massive building.

" Take care." Dad kissed my cheek before driving away.

The school was massive. I could even see students walking into the building.

I didn't know how long I stood there but I felt a hand on my shoulder.

" You are new?" I turned and it was a girl my age. Fair skin, blonde hair, and a love-shaped face." I'm Lucy." she said dolefully and she was a werewolf. I could smell her.

" Your dressing." she pointed out and I finally realized everyone was wearing a uniform.

" Don't worry, you will get yours by the close of the day," Lucia assured with a smile.

" So for now let's get you settled in." she smiled, leading the way.

I followed her into the school building.

She showed me to the principal's office before going to her own class.

I was surprised when the principal said my name before I could introduce myself.

Well, I wasn't new to power. My parents used to be powerful.

It turned out Lucy and I were in the same class.

The minute I walked into my class I found her sitting in the corner with some red-haired girl.
