SOMEWHERE UP TOWN The dominant footsteps that echoed against the concrete walls of an old building awakened Lucas. When he tried to move, he was restrained by chains. The dangling of the chain around his neck couldn’t let him move his head freely. Both hands were chained to a wooden chair. When he tried to move his feet, he was restrained by the shackles on his feet. He tried to get a clear look at the situation at hand but his eyes were still bleary. “Am I a dog that you chained me like one?” A steady and repeated laugh in a silly way followed suit immediately after the dominant footsteps seized. “Of course, you’re a dog… a bad doggy!” It was the voice of Lydo, the lady that Lucas opposed in the alley. He could recognize her voice. Even though he could feel his powers locked up, he can still recognize the voice of the people he heard. Lydo rolled her eyes at Lucas as she stood before him. She signed l
SOMEWHERE DOWNTOWNPAST 10 IN THE MORNING Lucas rubs his bleary eyes. He yawns loudly like his hunger level reaching hipo-hipo. He can feel his full strength and powers back. He touched his neck to feel the witch’s ladder. He was relieved when he realizes it was gone. A shadow hovered over him from the corner followed by a soothing voice. “Only a powerful witch like Kora can break the witch’s ladder she didn’t place on a victim.” Lucas turned following the sound of the voice he just heard. He recognized the voice but needed to be sure it was really the person he thought it would be. On seeing his mother standing beside the bed, he quickly rose to his feet in his defense. He gnawed as his eyes glowed blue. “Who are you?” he asked. Susan smirked to herself. She has been overprotective since the birth of Lucas. “I know you have a lot of questions and so do your father but I don’t have much time. I’m happy to see you’re okay.”
Lucas squealed. He could barely move. It was as if darkness has rolled its veil on him. There’s nothing he could see. He’s just trapped inside the collapsed building. No sirens. The only thing he could hear was Bonnie’s fading heartbeat. “Bonnie!” he called out desperately. There was no response from Bonnie. It would have been better if he could get to her but there was a huge collapsed wall that separates them. Lucas gasped. He has not been in a situation like this in his entire life. Never has a building collapsed on him. Everything happened so fast. He gasped once more and emits a sudden forceful hacking sound to release air and clear irritation in his throat. “Bonnie!” he cried out even more loudly than before. Unable to withstand the trauma of losing Bonnie, Lucas’ countenance changes. His body became enveloped with flashes of lightning. His eyes glowed. He growled releasing an energy surge in form of wind an
“Mira!” Lucas called out in a weird voice like someone who has seen a ghost. “Who the hell is she?” Detective White blurted out. “She’s my daughter,” Susan cuts in. Detective White cast a stone face gaze at Susan. “Your what?” “Let’s kill her before she kills us,” Bonnie whispered to Lucas. “No one is killing anyone,” Susan lashed out in anger. She did hear Bonnie. She switched her gaze to her and continued, “Lay a finger on her and I will strip you of your powers.” Detective White threw his hands up and yelled once more, “What the hell is going on here?” He’s lost and had no idea of what’s happening. First, his wife mysteriously came back claiming she wasn’t dead, and not long after that, his son mysteriously appeared from a light with a mysterious lady he has not seen. Now her stepdaughter he never knew he had has emerged from a blue portal. As Detective White was still trying to figu
MYSTIC CAVE “What is this place?” Detective White stared in great astonishment. He marveled at the beauty of the precious stones that filled the mystic cave. What terrified him was the mist that changes color, from white to red, from red to black, and then white again. All thanks to Ann that saved them from the furious vampires led by Zuka and Lydo. The two vampires walked the dark alley in search of innocent victims on the night they kidnapped Lucas. It wouldn’t have been any better if Ann didn’t appear from a bright light and saved the night. Zuka was already going for Detective White and was aiming to sink his pointy fangs into his neck. With a powerful thrust of her staff, Ann released a powerful wind blast. The blast was powerful enough to push Zuka back. Ann released another wind blast knocking him off his feet. ‘Get her!” Lydo ordered. As half a dozen of the vampires were about to pounce on Ann at once, Lucas stroke them at once with beams of crackling energy streaks. Thi
The entire witches began to draw back. If they can’t be safe in their hallowed ground, where then can they be safe? Out there are the enraged ancient vampires whom they never knew existed seeking to take their life on account of Kora. Bonnie’s body was lifted above the ground. Her body was still enveloped with thick dark smoke and flashes of lightning. Lucas sprang back to his feet. In a quick move to take a step toward Bonnie’s body, his father intercepted him from behind. He had his arms tightly around his son’s lower abdomen. “I do not want to lose you.” A sob escaped Lucas’ lips. “She can’t just die.” Another sob escaped his lips once more with tears rolling down his cheek. The witches began to mumble and question their faith in the hallowed ground. The majority of them want to leave why a quite number opposed that it’s not a good idea. “We rather die in this sacred ground than in the hands of filthy vampires,” they said.
“We all need to talk and not fight amongst ourselves,” Bonnie said. She turned and fixes her gaze on the old dark witch. “I communed with our ancestors and they told me not to make any plot against Kora. A storm is coming and she just saved us from it.” “Impossible…” the old dark witch shook her head in disapproval. She made her way to Bonnie. Staring Bonnie dead in the eyes, she said in a mean tone, “Who gave a little child like you the passage into the ancestors’ world? You are not qualified!” “You showed hesitant to touch Eva’s body and find out what happened. I was brave to do that and my ancestors led me into their world. If you have a problem with that, you should take it up with them.” Bonnie spoke in her defense. Lucas flashed a winning smile on hearing Bonnie’s response to the old dark witch. He must confess she’s acting a bit bitchy and dissevered the kind of answer she got from Bonnie. When Bonnie’s body was enveloped w
HILLTOP Alpha Jones picked up the creaking footsteps that continuously creaked under broken tree branches. He was trying to get a good night's sleep but the creaking footsteps won’t let him. He dragged himself up from his mattress pad and made his way out of his tent. He wasn’t the only one to hear the creaking footsteps. The rest of his pack did and they are all out of their tents sniffing in the air trying to catch up with the scent of those they believed were intruding in their camp. Alpha Jones released a pitched howl. His pack followed suit as they all howled together. He sniffed in the air and then focuses his gaze on the path ahead. “Make my night,” he grinned with fakeness. He hops across a tent before him and started running at an accelerated speed following the scent he just picked. A dozen of Betas followed his cue since they are responsible for hunting. They are second in command after the alpha and are dominant over t
