CHAPTER 6

FROM LOVE TO HATE

Rebekah turned to look at the person who spoke up for her. That was new to her, normally they would pity her and go by their way or laugh and enjoy her getting shouted at but this was new. She remembered the girl's name to be Irene, she was one of the maids here too. Rebekah had always been friendly with everyone and even though she needed something to be done, she knew how she spoke and commanded such but those days were gone now as she was treated as trash.

"And how is it your fault Irene?", Lucien's mother asked the maid, her attention still on Rebekah who stood there quietly.

"You needed something to be done, so I made Luna stop whatever she was doing and attend to you quickly, and maybe because of it, she forgot and I forgot to help her do it because I told her I would help do it while she attends to you", Irene explained.

Rebekah was surprised because none of that happened but she kept her face neutral and looked down.

"Well, what are you still doing here?? Go handle it", Charlotte ordered.

Rebekah quickly dropped the cleaning cloth and quickly left the place to go do the laundry.

But before she left, she heard when Lucien's mum said, "Luna my foot, the girl doesn't deserve to be called one".

Rebekah ignored her and just went to work. She was already very tired and drained and she had not eaten. Even yesterday night, she had very little to eat. Maybe if she just finished her work, she will be able to have some food without her mother-in-law cutting it short.

Everything went smoothly, Rebekah did the laundry and by the time she was done it was already noon and she had not even cleaned her and Lucien's room. She cleaned the sweat from her face and quickly went to complete her work in the dining but found out that it was already cleaned.

Rebekah took a deep breath, she almost cried at the spot, she was so tired and pained and just everything. She could not even have a little break. She promised to remember to thank Irene for her help and she also thought she was the one that helped her finish her work at the dining.

Rebekah looked at the time and then rushed to the room to clean it up. Lucien will be back soon. A few minutes later she was done, she cleaned and also washed the bathroom and toilet, leaving everywhere sparkling.

After that, she did more things and then she was finally done and it was now 2 pm. She looked for Irene everywhere and finally saw her. She thanked her for her help and was taken aback by the girl's response.

"You don't have to thank me, Luna, I should be the one apologizing to you for everything that's happening".

Rebekah smiled and told her it was okay. Then she spotted Lucien walking in through the door, so as a wife and mate, she cleaned her hand on her dirty clothes and went to welcome him back home.

She smiled warmly as she welcomed him and offered to carry the bag and documents he came back home with. Lucien glanced at Rebekah, disgust written all over his face. He turned and walked to the room, to take a shower not sparing her another glance. Rebekah looked sad at her dirty appearance and then at her disappointing belly. Despite all that she still followed him quietly at his back till they entered the room.

"Do you need anything?", She asked quietly.

"Go get something to eat, I wanna take a shower", He said calmly.

Rebekah nodded and left the room, wondering how he knew she had not eaten. Well, it's not like anything new anymore. As she walked to the kitchen to find something to eat, her phone ranged.

She reached into her pocket to fetch it and saw that it was Mia, her best friend. A smile crept up on her face and she picked the call. After the call, Rebekah was a bit agitated. Mia had called and said that she was returning and wanted to stay at their house for a few days. Rebekah prayed that Lucien will let her friend Mia stay for a few days.

After eating, Rebekah went upstairs to speak to him, and luckily enough for her he was listening and so she told him about Mia and her request. He thought about it for some time and then looked at Rebekah. He looked at Rebekah, who was ashen and not as beautiful as before. He was becoming more and more tired of the day-to-day married/mated life. And she also could not give birth to the child he had been longing for. So, when Rebekah begged him to let Mia live in, he felt a little heartbeat and remembered the night he and Mia spent together, how sweet it was and hot. And, on the other hand, the sex life with Rebekah had become so boring. Rebekah was very rigid during sex. So he agreed to her request and allowed Mia to come.

The next day when Lucien came back from work, he met and heard his mother Charlotte, and Mia chatting happily in the living and figured that Rebekah was cooking in the kitchen. When Charlotte spotted her son, she quickly stood up and pulled him towards them and made him sit and get to know Mia more.

"Mum, we have met before", Mia said sweetly as she told Charlotte while smiling at Lucien, Lucien just nodded shortly, confirming that they had indeed met before.

After hearing this, Charlotte was very happy, she welcomed her even more and praised Mia, even praising her beauty too.

Rebekah was already outside the living room and heard everything that was said and she became curious because Mia never told her anything, neither did Lucien.

Rebekah asked herself confused, "How did they meet?? And since when was Mia allowed to call Lucien's mum, Mum?".
