"Why?" I asked Naomi, once my baby sister, and standing in front of me like a sworn enemy, my eyes were still dry as I refused to cry in front of her. After everything that I did for her, this is what I got in return.

Torture????

"Why? Are you really asking me, Xyla?" She asked me angrily, mocking me in the process.

I was already on the verge of death. So, I just stayed silent, breathing shallowly, fire around me burning my skin at a very slow pace, but I refused to give her the satisfaction of hearing my screams.

I should have seen this coming to me. Now, I realized that there were hints of her hatred towards me all the time.

It was me who was ignorant, and now, I was paying the price with my life.

If she had killed me directly, I wouldn't have resented her so much, but no, she decided to torture me in every inhumane manner that she could think of.

She put my drugged and naked body on a thick slab of ice and then lit candles all around my body, covering every inch of my body except my back. My hair had already burned completely, destroying the scalp in the end.

My skin was now dripping drop by drop everywhere, but she wanted to see me scream.

My whole body trembled hard, but she had given me a high concentration of wolfsbane mixed with some other sedatives and aphrodisiacs.

Yes, she used all the illegal drugs known to the world on me so that I couldn't fight her.

She feared me, but her fear gave birth to her jealousy and hatred towards me.

"I was just your shadow, inferior to you in every aspect," she continued screaming and slashing my upper body like a maniac with a set of sharp knives instead of her fingers.

I felt pain, immense pain, but I couldn't even flinch a little.

My heartbeat was now fading fast, but I felt something crawling on my body from everywhere.

I wanted to laugh at my luck, but tears dropped from the corners of my eyes.

Leeches were now crawling over my body, trying to suck as much blood as they could.

"That husband of yours was supposed to kill you on your first night after marriage, but he decided to mark you and made you the most powerful Luna. Why? Why?" She continued screaming while recalling every big and small incident of my life.

She forgot that it was she who refused to marry him.

She forgot that I never wanted to be the most powerful Luna because this title was not a blessing but a curse.

"Why, you have everything that I desired. I snatched your mate, but that b*stard cheated on me too. I threw you in front of that monster, but he became your puppet. I wanted you to rot and beg for mercy, but you ruled the world. Why? Why?" Her screams burst my eardrums, but I closed my eyes.

I slowly opened my eyes when the shrill sound of my alarm started hurting my eardrums.

I sighed and closed my eyes again after shutting off the alarm.

Another nightmare, but it still feels so real.

Because this wasn't the nightmare but the brutal reality that I suffered in my past life.

I didn't hear her crying but felt her bond with me breaking bit by bit, intensifying the pain with every passing second.

I could forgive Naomi for what she did to me, but not what she did to my pup.

For two long years, I lived every single day just like in my past life, without making any major changes, but I did change a few things.

Yes, I was given a chance to avenge myself and my pup two years ago on my eighteenth birthday.

I slowly opened my eyes and took a deep breath.

I took the silk robe from the foot of the bed and put it on while walking towards the window.

I opened the window after fastening the belt loosely around my waist.

I leaned forward and closed my eyes while taking a long and deep breath, filling my lungs with the fresh morning air.

"Finally the day has come. She loves snatching my things, right? Let's see what she will do now," I mumbled to myself with a faint smile dancing on my lips.

I put my hands on the sill of the window and leaned forward more, putting my whole weight on my hands, breathing deeply so that I could have enough fresh air in my lungs for later.

"Ready for the day, honey?" I asked my wolf, who also grinned wickedly.
