"Aaron and I stared at him in shock.

"Dad I don't get what you are saying" Aaron replied, his expression which was of confusion and shock mirroring mine. "I just don't understand so help me understand."

"Son I've always considered to to be the brains of this family, but I really hope I didn't give you too much credit. What do you mean you don't understand? Did I speak in Mandarin?"

"No but...i... you said..."

"I know what I said bit since you seem to be having such a hard time comprehending, let me break it down for you. As you already know, I am retiring and following that development I intend to leave the company to one of you...depending on how you perform."

Obviously, I couldn't say anything on my part, I was too stunned to speak. I mean, the fact that he kept saying "the both of us" was what left me even more speechless. I knew that he loved me and I knew that he cared about me, but Aaron was his real son, his blood related son. i was just the appendage kid, the one he got as a result of marrying my mom.

Now don't get ne wrong, I wasn't expecting him to kick me to the curb the moment he got a chance but I didn't think he would even consider me for a role in the company either talk more about taking it over.

Besides, I had worked in the corporate sector for years and I had heard how old-fashioned the men in the corporate world could be, and considering the fact that I was a lady, a female, I thought that my chances were already limited. Clearly I was wrong.

The whole situation was coming as a bit of a surprise to me and I felt like my ears must have deceived me, so I decided to ask again just to clarify.

"Even me? You mean I stand a chance to inherit the company as well?"

He turned to me and stared. "Yes, even you, Jasmine. Please don't tell me there is a virus that is eating out the brains of my children." He cried in frustration

"But dad, you can't be serious." Aaron objected.

"It's not about a virus, it's just I never thought I'd have to share my inheritance with...with her." He looked at me with an expression I couldn't quite fathom and while I had been expecting disdainor anger, the expression on his face was neither and that made it even harder to read.

"And just what exactly do you mean 'her'?" His father demanded. "She is as much my daughter as you are."

"...only on paper," Aaron replied and he appeared even more desperate to prove that point.

"She is a registered member of this family and after living together for over a decade, I am dissappointed that this is even a topic for discussion. "

Silence fell over the study as Aaron seethed internally, his nostrils flaring up with rage.

I on the other hand kept biting the inside of my cheeks to refrain from saying anything.

On a regular day, o would have taken this as the perfect opportunity to gloat but this situation seemed serious so I decided to swallow my tongue.

When nobody else spoke, Aaron's dad...My dad continued. And yes I called him my dad. He had taken me as his daughter and there was no need to distrust him any more

"Anyway, my mind is already made up. The good thing is that you both have equal chances, and depending on how you use those chances, this company that you..." He paused for a second glancing at Aaron. "...that you feel so entitled to might end up going to her anyway. So, I suggest you put on your big boy pants and start working hard, because I know for a fact that she is just as much capable, maybe even more capable than you. So, you have got...you have got yourself some competition."

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 29

Aaron's POVit was a literal struggle to get us both to the house without incident because Jasmine would not stop trying to get undressed and hard as I tried, I failed to put my raging erection in check. We rounded the corner to my house and Jasmine turned again and the soft fabric of her blouse bowed a little giving me another peek at her bra and the tits filling them. God, the sight was heavenly. She was a bit on the small side but her tits were round and perfectly proportioned. I was sure they would feel like silk under my tongue and cradle my clock like...I shook my head vigorously to dissuade myself from that line if thought. It was one rabbit hole I wasn't sure I could crawl out of if I kept myself fall into. After what felt like forever, we finally got to the house and as soon as I turned off the ignition, I rushed over to her side and helped her out. Now this was an even more difficult position because all the friction she was seeking, she thought she could get from my body

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 28

Aaron's POVShe kept slipping in and out of consciousness and I worried that Roland might have used a high dose of whatever he had given her, but as we drove away and more time passed, she seemed to be remaining conscious more and more.I contemplated driving her to her apartment but I didn't think Rosie would be around to take care of her like she needed. The second option was the parents' but I discarded that idea almost as soon as it came because I knew they were just going to get worried for nothing. At last, I decided it was best to just take her over to mine. I knew that she was probably going to freak out when she woke up in the morning considering the strained relations we shared, but I didn't think there was much of a Choice now."You okay?" I asked, casting a sideways glance at where she sat in the passengers seat rounded like a foetus. She was awake now but she seemed rather uncomfortable. "I'm hot!" She replied, her voice sounding parched. "So fucking hot.""Its proba

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 27

I followed the sound and came face to face with a giant oak door, but someone was standing in front of it, a guard I assumed. He was all girded in black from head to toe and is hands were held firmly behind his back, his expression soeaking of stoic and stone , one that I assumed was supposed to intimidate, but I was way past the point of intimidation. I needed to know Jasmine was safe."Where is she?" I demanded at the exact same time the guard declared,"You can't be back here.""Oh really?" I replied snobbishly. "Well news flash, I am here and I'm not leaving without Jasmine so the sooner you start talking, or pointing me in the right direction, the happier we are all going to be. ""Who are you? And how did you get inside?" The guard asked ignoring everything I said about finding Jasmine. Clearly, he was either hard of hearing or in desperate need of a good beating. Either ways, I was losing my cool pretty cool. I had to give it to him though, his ability to maintain his cool e

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 26

Aaron's POV It was probably a bad idea, tailing the car that had come to pick her up but I had no choice. I had to know where she was being taken to, just in case. Roland was a predator, one that was very good at pretending and I simply didn't feel comfortable with Jasmine being alone with him. Too bad she was too stubborn. I tried to remain out of sight as I followed the car, and the more we drew nearer to the destination, the more shady the whole situation appeared to be. I mean, if it was such an innocent meeting, why not pick a location closer to town, why come all this way? Something was definitely fishy. I waited and watched as she was being led into the house and I tried my best not to picture being led to the slaughter, especially since she had ignored all my warnings not to go there in the first place. I felt so helpless just sitting there not doing anything and not knowing what was going on inside. So I did the only thing I could, I dialed her number and called.

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 25

Jasmine's POVWe exchanged pleasantries and the meeting began in earnest. The almost Mayor seemed sincerely interested in my proposal if the numerous questions he was asking were any indication. Thankfully, I had expected just that and had prepared adequate answers to all his questions. The man seemed impressed and in less than thirty minutes, we were already at the signing stage.Personally, I felt like things were progressing rather quickly but since it was to my benefit, i didn't hint at that. Besides, I was too busy trying to hide my excitement to pay attention to unnecessary things.See? Everything had gone well and Aaron was just worrying for nothing. "We should have a drink to celebrate the closing of this deal." Mr. Roland declared enthusiastically and although that sounded like a good idea, I still had to leave."Maybe some other time. " I offered. "Right now, I really need to get going.""Come on. It won't take you ten hours to have one drink. I'm sure you can spare en

  • Hate me later, love me now   Chapter 24

Jasmine's POVI was still lost in my thoughts when my phone vibrated suddenly in my hand, indicating that I had an incoming call. I had been so out of it that the sound startled me."Ma'am is everything okay?" The driver asked, eyeing me through the rear view mirror. "Yeah, Yeah, everything is fine. I just...sorry I need to take this."Ever since I woke up this morning up until when I left for work this morning, Aaron had been texting me non stop in an attempt to convince me against meeting up with Mayor Roland and had even gone as far as dropping by my office to further emphasize his point but thankfully, I had been out for a meeting. So I didn't even need to check my screen to know that he was the one calling. Still, I couldn't help but wonder why it bothered him so much whether or not I met up with him when we both knew that he couldn't give a damn whether I was fine or hurt."You have exactly 10 seconds to say what you have to say." I announced as soon as I answered the call."
