"Do you know what I, Gabriel Robinson, despise the most?" his eyes were bloodshot, and his breath came in heavy gasps.

"Cough... cough...” Fiona's throat hurt from being choked, and she could do nothing but cough.

"If you're looking for death, I'll grant your wish."

With that, Gabriel grabbed her arm and, like lifting a small chicken, dragged her to the bedroom and threw her onto the bed.

"Hey, what... what are you doing?" she was startled, genuinely afraid of him.

He ripped his tie off with one hand while clicking a remote with the other. Instantly, the bedroom curtains closed, leaving them in pitch-black darkness.

In the dark, there was a ripping sound, and Fiona's clothes were torn apart by him.

"You bastard, let me go! I'm just here... for my money."

Fiona struggled, but she suddenly noticed something was off about him. It was only then that she realized what was happening, but by the time she tried to get up and run, it was too late.

The next day.

Fiona woke up naturally, and it was already noon.

She shifted in bed, and a dull ache spread through her body. It felt bruised, battered. The worst part, though, was the sticky film clinging to her skin. It was almost unbearable.

She sat up, scanning the bedroom. Gabriel was long gone, but a set of clean clothes was neatly placed by the bedside.

She got up and quickly washed up in the bathroom, not bothering to remove her makeup, before heading out to find Gabriel and demand an explanation.

As she stepped into the living room, she noticed an unfamiliar man sitting on the couch.

"My name is Sutton. I'm Mr. Robinson’s personal assistant," he introduced himself before she could say a word.

“Where's that scumbag, Gabriel? He sleeps with me and then just leaves? Is he trying to ghost me?" she fumed, her anger bubbling over.

Scumbag?

Sutton was taken aback. Ignorance is bliss, he thought. He decided not to argue with her and instead pointed to a box of medicine on the table. "The boss left instructions: either take the medicine and leave the City, or face the consequences. Miss Hayes, the choice is yours."

He already knew her name, indicating they had done their homework.

Fiona's heart skipped a beat, feeling the cold, ruthless nature of Gabriel. Fear crept in, extinguishing her fiery demeanor.

She bit her lip, "Um... I... I need to see Gabriel. I saved his life, he can't just repay kindness with cruelty."

Upon hearing this, Sutton sneered, "I've heard such lousy lies too many times. Do you really think the boss will believe you?"

"I'm telling the truth, that day..."

"Miss Hayes!"

Sutton's patience had worn thin. "If you won't take the easy way, don't blame me for being harsh."

At that moment, the elevator doors opened.

Fiona had expected Gabriel, but to her surprise, an elegantly dressed elderly woman with a head full of white hair stepped out, followed by two attendants.

Sutton bowed respectfully, "Mrs. Robinson."

Mrs. Robinson walked in, casting a stern glance at Sutton. "What are you doing?"

"Madam, I was just handling some personal matters for the boss," Sutton replied honestly.

Mrs. Robinson pointed to a box of contraceptive pills on the table. "Your so-called personal matters involve getting rid of my Family's great- grandchild?"

Fiona was stunned. Great-grandchild?

She followed the elderly woman's gaze to the box of pills, feeling a wave of confusion. Could it be that the great-grandchild Mrs. Robinson mentioned was the one in her belly?

"This is the boss's decision," Sutton stated.

“Hmph, if there's anything, let that brat come find me himself." Mrs. Robinson turned and walked towards Fiona. Her stern face instantly softened into a kind and gentle smile. "You must be Fiona Hayes?"

Fiona didn't have much fondness for Gabriel, nor did she feel any particular way about Mrs. Robinson. However, out of politeness, she asked, "Grandma, what can I do for you?"

"Though you look quite ordinary, you have a sweet tongue," Mrs. Robinson’s face lit up with joy at being called 'Grandma.'

Fiona had naturally fair skin, but she had deliberately darkened her complexion, drawn her eyebrows thick, and added freckles to her face. At first glance, she did look quite plain.

Mrs. Robinson affectionately took her hand. "My dear, all this old woman wants is to hold a great-grandbaby before she kicks the bucket. I've looked into your background. I know your parents are in the hospital, and you work multiple jobs to support your family. You're a good kid. If you're willing to have a child for the Robinson Family, I'll agree to any condition you set."

Fiona's eyes widened in shock as she jerked her hand away as if she had been electrocuted. "No, no, no, Grandma. I understand you want a great-grandchild for your Family, but that's your family's business. It has nothing to do with me."

What kind of crazy joke is this? Just because she had a fling with Gabriel didn't mean she was obligated to have a child for the Robinson Family.

What did they take her for?

This was beyond ridiculous.

The two of them walked down the mountain for a while. At a particularly steep spot, the masked man slipped and fell to the ground with a yelp."Careful!" Fiona exclaimed as he lay dangerously close to the edge of the steep slope. Falling might not kill him, but it would definitely cause serious injuries. She lunged forward, grabbing his leg. "Don't be scared, I've got you," she reassured him.She pulled with all her might, dragging the masked man toward her. Despite his slender appearance, he was surprisingly heavy. In the heat of the moment, she didn't think much of it. She managed to drag him back a few steps before sitting beside him and supporting his neck. "Come on, get up."His legs were weak, making it hard for him to stand. Fiona had to support his upper body to help him get back on his feet."Thanks," the masked man said, taking the opportunity to wrap an arm around her neck. She struggled to lift him. "You look thin, but you're actually pretty heavy," she remarked, concentra

Clarissa stomped her foot in frustration. Just as her anger peaked, she saw Gabriel walking toward Fiona. Her eyes lit up, and her mood instantly changed.Gabriel wore a black casual outfit and a black sports headband on his forehead, giving him a youthful, sporty look, much like a basketball player. It was quite appealing. But Fiona knew he wore the headband to keep sweat from dripping into his eyes while working, since they had been busy carrying things up and down the hill and didn't have a free hand to wipe the sweat away. "Here, this is for you," he said as he approached Fiona, opening his hand to reveal what he had brought."What is it?" she asked, looking at his open palm. There, resting in his hand, were bright red raspberries, a sweet and tangy fruit that grew in the countryside. They were delicious. “Where did you get these? I love raspberries!" she exclaimed, delighted. She took them from his hand and popped a few into her mouth. "This is exactly the taste I remember—swe

Gabriel paid no attention to Fiona, finding her words full of voids. Especially considering the last time she was kidnapped, it had direct ties to the Darwin Family. He hadn't been interested in digging into it back then, but now... now he wanted to know. After a while, Fiona grew bored of sitting around and returned to the village chief's house, lying down to rest. Clarissa was already asleep, her face adorned with a smile, likely due to some pleasant dream.Fiona lay in bed for what felt like ages before she finally drifted off to sleep. The next morning, she was awakened by Clarissa's chatter."What were you doing with Gabriel last night? I waited for you at home for so long, and you never came back."Clarissa sat cross-legged on the bed, her hands propping up her chin, staring at Fiona with the curiosity of a child, eager for answers."Watching the moon," Fiona mumbled with her eyes still closed."What? You watched the moon with Gabriel?" Clarissa couldn't help but exclaim, feeli

Clarissa was bursting with excitement but didn't know how to express it."Oh my gosh, Gabriel, look! A shooting star! Quick, make a wish! They say wishes made on shooting stars are the most likely to come true."Seeing a shooting star streak across the dazzling night sky, Clarissa jumped with joy. She clasped her hands, bowed her head, and closed her eyes to make a wish.“Shooting star, shooting star, please make my wish come true. Let me become Gabriel's wife someday!”Standing nearby, Gabriel watched Clarissa. For a moment, he found her lively and innocent, like Fiona. She seemed so pure and carefree, not at all annoying."Where is she? Why hasn't she come out yet?"He waited a while, scanning for Fiona, then asked."Huh? Oh, um... wait here, I'll go get her." Clarissa felt incredibly lucky to have spent even a moment with Gabriel. She was happy but also so nervous she didn't know what to say.So she quickly turned and ran off.She jogged to the room, pushed the door open, and found

Fiona was only interested in the cash Clarissa offered; her 'superpower' could make her submit instantly. “Haha, Fiona, you are just too good."She tilted her head and made a heart gesture toward Fiona.Fiona found her behavior disgusting, goosebumps rising all over her skin.Putting on her shoes, she walked out of the bedroom, flashlight in hand, and headed next door. She pushed the door open and went straight to Gabriel's bedroom, knocking. “Gabriel?"Since Eastgrove Village had always had a harmonious, friendly relationship among its residents, and with many outsiders coming in, the doors were left unlocked for convenience. Fiona could come and go freely.A soft call, but no response. She waited a moment and was about to call out to him again when the bedroom door creaked open.In the darkness, Gabriel stood before her, his voice cold. "What is it?"His tone was icy, carrying a hint of distance. It seemed he was still upset about what had happened earlier.Fiona thought he must h

  • Her Billionaire Husband   CHAPTER 97

Given the circumstances, Fiona had nothing more to say. After all, this wasn't the city where one could be picky about everything. She took a towel and some body wash from her suitcase, grabbed a flashlight, and headed straight to the pond by the door. Sitting on a washing stone, she let her legs dangle in the cool water, splashing around playfully. The sound of frogs croaking mixed with the chirping of crickets filled the air, creating a peaceful atmosphere.Suddenly, tiny green lights began to float in the darkness. Fiona stared at the glowing fireflies, lost in thought. She used to see fireflies often as a child, but they had become rare as she grew older. She was pleasantly surprised to find so many here.Soon she jumped into the pond. With no one around in the dead of night, she could enjoy a relaxing swim and take a bath. The pond was deep, with a bed of smooth pebbles. The water was crystal clear, fed by a mountain spring. After swimming for a while, she bathed and then sat o
