|| ELINDA's POV ||
" Don't worry the paparazzi is here. This place is secured."
I cracked a weak smile on my blind date, Edward Jones. He was next in the line to become the Alpha of the second-largest pack in this town. My birthday party was a disaster for me. All the while I had to tolerate the heated eyes of my ex-mate. Coming to this blind date would hopefully help me out.
Edward looked nervous as he replied, grabbing the wine awkwardly,
" No. I am just nervous..in front of the Royal Princess."
Fuck! Can someone please stop me from reminding me of that?
Nobody dared to approach me before because of my Royal status. Even my blind dates were terrified whenever they found my identity. I didn't want to date someone introduced by my family. They always preferred social status over everything. After breaking my heart, I had only one wish in my life. To find someone who truly loved me!
I avoided Leonid throughout the party. He seemed okay with my behavior. My brother was the only best thing that ever happened on my birthday. I cleared my throat to start the conversation, looking up at Edward who couldn't look into my eyes,
" So...tell me more about yourself, Edward."
He finally smiled, getting comfortable with me,
" Honestly, I hate pack life. I thought of running away many times."
I let out a chuckle, sipping from my wine,
" Me too, but sadly, I have nowhere to go."
Wrong I had!
My adoptive parents told me before sending me away that I would always have a home there. I just didn't want to push them into trouble anymore. The Vasiliev Dynasty had two shades. The green one was for the Public but the dark one was for the people that disobeyed them. I learned how to be a mute over the years.
We chatted longer than expected. To my surprise, Edward turned out to be the person who wanted to be free from this caged life. But we both knew that our responsibilities came first. I would have continued my chat until a phone call flashed on my screen. I narrowed my eyes to see my brother calling. He knew that I was on a date and he would never disturb me in my private time.
I answered with a tight smile, scared to hear his anxious voice,
" Hello, brother. What.. what happened?"
Alberto sounded fuming as he replied to me, the sound of his pacing across the room echoing through the speaker,
" ELINDA! Don't ask anything! Just get out of the restaurant once my car goes there."
I looked around suspiciously. It was a closed property and I didn't think that anyone would be following me here. For this reason, I didn't bring too many guards with me. I opened my mouth to ask something but the call ended, leaving me with countless questions.

|| ALEXIS KOZLOV's POV ||
That smile...
That damn smile...
I watched her through the glass walls. I haven't gotten out of the car since she hated me and probably wouldn't ride with me. Her blind date with a man shouldn't have bothered me. It was just a bet with her. Although we became mates, nothing changed my mind.
She was too naive, and easily fooled back then. Instead of getting expensive gifts, she was content with Roses or pearls. Now that I lost her forever, why did it hurt like hell? Why did it kill me to see her smiling for another man? Shouldn't I be happy too?
She came out of the restaurant, holding the man's hand. Some violent fury snapped inside me quickly. Before I could stop myself, I got out of the car and waited in front of it. Her eyes locked with mine and her smile vanished. She pretended to concentrate on the guy but I knew that she had all her attention on me.
That punk leaned onto her and left a peck on her lips, taking me by surprise. My lycan growled inside me violently, itching for some fresh blood. I crossed them in a while and was reminded coldly, that guy looked scared to see me,
" The Princess shouldn't be intimate in an open place. There are eyes everywhere for her. Don't you know this, Young Man?"
The guy looked terrified before Elinda mediated, flashing him a big smile,
" He doesn't know. You may go ahead, Edward. We will meet next time."
The fuck she will!
She turned to me grimly, staring at her brother's car,
" Where are the Royal Guards? Why is it you?"
I replied with a low grin, raking my eyes on her hot body,
" To babysit. I can't deny my best friend's request. Otherwise driving isn't my favorite job."
Elinda replied, pressing her lips together,
" Killing maybe..your favorite job?"
I shot her with a dark look. She had learned about me already. It gave me some mental peace before I offered, to open the door,
" Hop in, Princess. You aren't supposed to be outside now."
Elinda replied with a scoff, crossing her arms together,
" I would rather die than ride with you. Call my guards. I will wait for them."
Her stubbornness took me by surprise. She was always a calm and understanding girl. I was supposed to play with her longer but I couldn't take her for granted for her innocence. I clenched my jaw hard, pulling my phone out,
" Right! I should tell your brother that you prefer to ride my face than my car."
Her jaw dropped speechlessly. Without a word, she stormed into the car, clicking the door lock with a bang. I held back a grin before following her into the car. Her personality has changed a lot over the years. But she was still the same girl who gave me a hard-on and made the Mafia leader her chauffeur.
At this point, I wanted to question myself. Did I regret breaking her heart?
Chapter 179 || ALEXIS'S POV ||I stood hidden alongside the gates of the academy, partially covered by the tall metal fence, my fists clenched within my coat pockets. The morning air was nippy, but the tightness in my chest had nothing to do with the chill. I had stood there for some time now, my eyes never leaving the pathway that led to the entrance. My gut told me I needed to be here, that something was going to take place—and I was right.Noah's black car pulled up beside the gate, and a moment later Elias climbed out. His lean form bounced effortlessly on the pavement, his bag slung loosely over his shoulder. But then Noah's hand clamped over his shoulder, turning him to face him, and I saw the boy's smile leave his face. "Elias," Noah said tightly, his tone allowing no argument, "you don't see Alexis anymore. Not now, not ever. Do you understand me?"My body tightened at that. So, Noah was trying to cut me off from Elias. Why? What was he hiding?Elias pouted, his eyebrows scow
|| CLARA'S POV ||I barely had a moment to breathe when the door to my chamber was flung open with a deafening bang.“Mikhail,” I whispered, startled. He looked like a storm wrapped in flesh — eyes blazing with betrayal, fists clenched as if holding himself back from shattering the walls. My heart began to pound.“Why are my wolves listening to you?” he growled, voice so low it was almost a snarl. “They report to me, Clara. Me. Not some girl who showed up out of nowhere.”I stepped back instinctively, my hands rising, not in defense but pleading. “You were sick,” I said, forcing calm into my voice though my legs trembled. “I took over because they needed leadership. You were bedridden for days. You don’t even remember—”“Liar!” A new voice spat the word like venom.I froze. Mikhail’s godmother, Alina, stepped into the room like a shadow from the past — regal in her age, eyes sharper than any blade I had faced. And in her hand, a talisman glowed faintly — the same one I’d hidden months
Chapter 177|| CLARA's POV ||I returned to Mikhail's mansion that evening with my heart pounding faster than necessary. The door guards straightened when they spotted me. They bowed, as they always did, their heads ducked in that cowering respect I had bullied into them all these years. But now, looking at them, there was no pleasure in me. There was only terror—because I already knew the truth inside. The spell that had protected me, the spell that had held them under my control, was gone.I swept them all aside with urgency, not even noticing their twisted salutations. The mansion still smelled the same.I walked straight to my room and closed the door, shaking fingers resting on the handle. I leaned against the door, staring blankly at the richly carved mirror on the opposite side of the room. I sat on the edge of the bed, my hands grasping the silken sheets. My mind spun around me, hardly held in check. The healer was right.I could feel the words he had spoken to me that morni
Chapter 176|| ALEXIS'S POV ||I was paralyzed, staring at Elias, my entire universe centered on these tiny golden dots that glittered like gold in his eyes. It was for a moment, but I caught it. I knew what I saw. That color—dazzling, fierce yellow, the same color that had burned in my own eyes when I first transformed as an Alpha—flashed in his eyes like a secret trying to break free. My own chest pulled tight, all of my muscles taut with shock and something far deeper, far heavier.I couldn't catch my breath for a moment. My hands trembled as I held him close to me, my fingers resting softly on his thin arms as if I were scared that if I let go of him, he would be gone from me. My mind chanted one thing over and over again. He's mine. He has to be mine. That yellow wasn't a trick of light. That was Alpha blood coursing through him, despite how young he was.Elias blinked up at me in wide confusion, unaware of the storm that had possessed my chest. His lips opened as if he were go
Chapter 175|| ALEXIS'S POV ||My palms resting on the edge of the table, I stared out the window, watching the empty street. I had planned to visit ELINDA's place later in the day to see Elias, but in the meantime, I was content to rest here, beyond everyone's prying eyes. The sound of hurrying feet outside broke the silence, and even before I could get up, I knew that the door creaked open. I did not need to guess who it was.Lysa.She strode in like a storm, her heels striking the wooden floor sharply, her entire face twisted in anger. She didn’t knock, didn’t ask for permission—she never did when she was furious.“So this is where you’ve been hiding,” she snapped, her tone dripping with accusations. Her chest rose and fell quickly.I did not move. I simply gazed at her, firm in my stance. "Lysa, this is not your place. You cannot just barge in like you have." Her eyes blazed at me, ignoring all that I said as she advanced a step. "What have you done to me?" she hissed, her anger
Chapter 174 || ALBERTO's POV ||I stood in the middle of my personal mansion, the silence so dense it was suffocating. Clara lay asleep on the enormous bed in the room's center, her face white, her lips parted as if she was panting even in sleep.I had brought her here because this was the one place where no one would be looking for her—not Blake, no one. My own mansion was buried deep in Lycan lands, protected by powerful runes and guarded by warriors who took orders from me alone. No one would be brave enough to disobey my orders here.None of that mattered now, though. The Lycans' best healer had already checked her out. He was standing right beside me a moment ago, his hands glowing softly as he read her energy stream. I could still sense his words resonating in my head, heavy and immovable."She's been doing spells for years," he had said, his voice commanding but with a hint of anxiety underlying it. "Her body can no longer absorb power the way that it needs to. Her channels a
