When I opened my eyes again, I saw a white ceiling and was surrounded by a strong smell of disinfectant.

I didn't care why I was here; all I knew was that I was going to be late for work, on the first day.

I put on my shoes as quietly as possible, afraid of waking Mark, who was still asleep.

"Where are you going?"

I had just reached the doorway when I heard Mark's groggy voice.

"I found a job; I'm going to be late," I replied honestly.

"Do you know you have a fever?"

Mark appeared quite displeased.

Was it because I got sick, and he had to cover the medical expenses?

"Mr. Anderson, don't worry. I'll repay you the medical expenses once I receive my salary," I said, then respectfully bowed to him, and made a hasty exit.

Luckily, I managed to be on time for my first day at work.

Today happened to be Valentine’s Day, and the flower shop was bustling.

I was responsible for handling payments since I didn't know much else at the moment.
