CASSIE'S POV

A week later, I am still living in this house, waiting for this old man to leave this world so I'll become the next heiress.

I've been tolerating all his bad behaviors just to win his heart and I think I am getting a hang of it.

He doesn't do certain things now without calling Cassie to help him.

And he doesn't make some decisions without informing me first.

I think I will be the person he chose, no doubt.

Grandpa has been involving me in things concerning the company, and for the first time in my life, he let me go to the company with him yesterday.

My dream has finally come true.

Raymond will come running to me when he learns I became the heiress in a few days.

Who doesn't need a successful wife?

Absolutely no one.

It's afternoon and everyone in the house seems so busy.

The house is always busy, but today is different.

Maybe we'll be having some guests today, but Grandpa didn't tell me anything like that.

“Where's Grandpa?"

I asked one of the maids but she igno

It's already been two weeks, yet Raymond hasn't said anything about what Cassie saw. Maybe she didn't tell him because she had no evidence. Or she told him, but Raymond didn't believe her. Either of the two, because I know my sister. She would have told him already. A day after the incident, I wanted to go see Cassie, but I couldn't because I was in the process of moving out of Jeff's house. Jeff didn't like that. He said I should stay for another month or two, so everything will be back to normal. However, I couldn't go with what he said.So many things have started happening between us. Besides, Mr. Smith was already in custody, so there was no need to be scared of anything.Well. My new house has been so peaceful since I moved in. It isn't so big, it is just the perfect one for not more than four people to stay. This time, I hired only two maids, a gardener, and the security man.I would have hired more, but I am afraid of what would happen again. “Ms. Blair, we are so

  • Messed With The Wrong Heiress    91. Time to Move out.

BLAIR'S POVI am doomed!Of all people, it was Cassie who caught me with Jeff. How did we even get there?Oh My God!“Cassie!"Jeff ran after her, but Cassie didn't answer him. She was hurrying down the stairs as fast as she could so Jeff wouldn't catch up with her. “Cassie, please, wait, it isn't what you think it is."She paused when I spoke. Cassie turned back, looking at me with a scoff. I know nothing I say will make her believe it wasn't intentional. Cassie has already said that Jeff and I are lovers, Raymond won't think twice if she informs him of this. Not like I care about Raymond's reaction, but everything is just a misunderstanding. Jeff only came to deliver the ice cream he got me, and we ended up in a passionate kiss. We didn't plan that, we don't even know how it started. “What do you want to say? That you and Jeff aren't lovers?"She burst into laughter. Jeff seems so hopeless, and so do I. But I have to do something so that Cassie won't go around telling an

CASSIE'S POVMaking sure Raymond doesn't think about any other person but me is the only thing I am after in his life. The way Blair wanted to have him all for herself, I will make sure I succeed in doing that. Raymond is now mine, but I am still scared of something. His grandfather keeps bringing Blair's name to him, and I don't like it. If it continues that way, the spell I put on him will break. I will be the only person he hates in this world if the spell breaks. And I won't let that happen. I'd rather make his family lose him than me lose him. It's high time I come up with a new plan that will make Raymond stop listening to his grandpa. Make anyone against our love speechless.I picked up my phone from the dressing table to call one of my guys, but a notification popped up.If it were any other news, I would have just ignored it.But this is about Blair, again.I wonder what she is up to now.She seems to be getting the spotlight ever since the mansion burned down.uhn?

Matilda kept on saying stuff angrily, but I don't blame her. It's all Grandpa's fault. If he had not instilled the rule that no woman in the Reece household would work or do any business, this wouldn't have been happening. Matilda has never once stopped me from insulting me, but now, she is doing that. “You are so daft, Raymond. And you have no control over your wife!"She may be older than me, but she has no right to insult me. “Watch your tongue, Matilda…”" Or what?” She stepped forward. " Or you will make Grandpa George send my husband and me packing, right?”She burst into laughter. " Go ahead and do that. After all, you are his favorite grandchild. Grandpa George does everything you want, he doesn't even care about the rest.” Sighs. I will be forced to hit Matilda if I stay there, listening to her words. And I don't want that, I won't want to be tagged as the guy who beat his cousin's wife. " Can you just leave? I have no time for all this.”I turned to leave, but sh

Mr. Smith?I only know one Mr. Smith, the ex-shareholder in my company. Could it be him?So it isn't Cassie or Raymond? This is serious!“Wait, isn't that the man you said you terminated his contract a few days ago?" Jeff asked, and I nodded my head. "Yes.” The officer added. " That was what he said when he was questioned. He said he got angry because you embarrassed him in front of everyone, that was why he wanted you killed and the company in his possession.”What! My grandpa's company? How dare he!Wasn't he the one who started it?He looked down on me yet, he returned to plead, and I forgave him. We were even in the process of renewing his contract when the house was set ablaze. That fool!If I can see him now, I will slap him across the face for putting me in this situation. Doesn't he have a human consciousness? How could he do this to a fellow woman because of jealousy?“Can I see him?"I asked the officer, standing on my feet. “Sure."We left the officer's office to t

  • Messed With The Wrong Heiress    87. The Confession

The next morning, after breakfast, Ben showed up. Since I am not even sure if he is the real Ben or another person again, I refused to stay in the same place with him alone.I took him out of the apartment so I wouldn't be hurt before help came my way, if he tried doing anything. Ben sensed how uncomfortable I was, so he didn't take it to heart. “I am so sorry, Ms. Blair."What is he apologizing for?Unless he isn't the real Ben. “I know you are having trust issues right now, but I swear, I am the real Ben."He looked so worried as he said that. “Okay."As he put his hand in his pocket, my eyes traveled around the house, searching for the cops and the bodyguards. And yes, they are everywhere, looking at us too. I didn't panic, I had to see what he was bringing out before I could scream for help. But he brought out a piece of paper and handed it over to me. After unfolding it, there is a little ash colored powder in it. Curiously, I looked at him. “That will help with the ha

“It's him!"I pointed at Ben, holding Jeff tightly. Jeff looked at Ben, the police were holding him, and then looked at me. “Who?"He asked, looking so confused. Who, he asked? Can't he see what I am seeing? Two Bens yet, I don't even know the real one. Am I seeing things?I can't be the only one seeing two Ben. “Blair, get a hold of yourself, look," He pointed at the bad guys. “The cops have already handcuffed them, don't be scared."Jeff doesn't know, right?I am seeing double faces, and none of them are seeing that. My brain isn't messed up, is it?“That is Ben!"I pointed at the bad guy.“No, this is Ben."“I am Ben, your personal assistant."Ben chipped in. “Oh, wait a second…”One of the cops came closer and lowered himself to my level. He stared into my eyes for a few seconds and looked at Jeff, shaking his head. "She is hallucinating.” He said. Me?That is impossible, isn't it?How can I be hallucinating?"How?”Jeff was as confused as I was. "That guy can explai

  • Messed With The Wrong Heiress    85. Another Tragedy

The moment two guys came out from the car, dressed in black overalls, with black masks covering their faces, my life flashed before my eyes. They were each carrying a gun, pointing to our car as they approached it. Ben looked at me, his eyes filled with fear. "Get down!” One yelled, holding the door of the back seat where I was sitting."I can't open it, Ms. Blair, if I do, he is going to shoot you.” Oh, Jeff, I should have listened to you. Seeing that Ben wasn't going to open the car, they aimed the gun at us and started shooting. Unfortunately for them, none of the bullets broke the window. Surprised, I tapped Ben's shoulder. “Don't worry, it is bulletproof."Wow!What a miracle. I would have been battling with my life now had it been that bullet had hit me. While rubbing my tummy, an idea suddenly crept into my head. “Ben, drive us out of here, fast!"He looked at me and raised a brow. “We can't leave here, they'll still trail us, and the worst could happen." Is that

While the investigation was ongoing, I decided to stay at home for quite some time before everything would be back to normal. Although I wanted to resume work, Jeff told me not to be in a hurry. He said the bad guys might still be lurking around to harm me. That was true, But I still needed to go out for some fresh air, even if I wouldn't go far from the house. Jeff has been so helpful to me,Maybe I should have divorced Raymond when he asked for it, and then given Jeff a chance. He is so loving, caring, and always wants to see me happy. He has taken over the responsibility of the things Raymond should be doing. Well, my selfishness put me into this. I should have left him while I still could, but no, I wanted to stay back because of my heart. “Blair, just give us a week, and the person who set your house ablaze will be brought to the court.” That has been Jeff's words for the past two days since his friend started the investigation. I have full confidence that Jeff and hi
