Another few weeks passed, and it was finally time for the cast to come off much to your relief since it's been irritating you for the past six weeks. This morning, you're greeted by Nate. He seems eager to take you to get your cast removed. He walks into your living room beaming at you.
"You ready to get that cast off?" he smiles.
"Yes, I've been ready for weeks," you remark.
"great lets go." You follow Nate down to his truck. You climb into the passenger seat and notice some flowers on the dashboard.
"Flowers? For a special someone?" You ask sceptical.
"There for your mom, wierdo, I wanted to swing by and check on her after your appointment." Nate laughs
"That's sweet, I'm sure she will appreciate it." You smile at him. He gives you a look of appreciation. "
Finally you arrive at the hospital. You're excited to be rid of the cast.
"I can finally go back to cheer when it's gone." You beam.
"You're captain now, right?" Nate asked.
"Erm- I'm not sure. How far along is Madison now?" You reply.
"I'm not sure. We can check in with her later. Come on." You head into the hospital, a familiar face is seated in the waiting room.
"W-what are you doing here?" Sam stares at you in shock.
"I have an appointment, not that you care." You snapped at him.
"I'm sorry," Sam replied sadly.
"I really don't want to hear it right now." You snap again.
The doctor finally calls your name, finally freedom from your cast. You have to wear a brace for the next couple of weeks, but you're still allowed to do sports. You come out of the room bursting with joy.
"Finally, it's gone." You beam.
"Great, should we go and see your mom?" Nate asks.
"Yeah, I'll grab a doctor." You grab a doctor that's walking by and ask to see your mom. The doctor leads you to your mom's room, and the corridor smells medicinal. You enter your mom's room, and the doctor turns to you.
"She's gotten worse since the last time you visited, I'll give you both a moment." The doctor walks out of the room.
"Mom?" You speak softly.
"Hello, sweetie," your mom smiles at you.
You kiss her head, and she looks over your shoulder to see Nate. You feel her grow a smile.
"You brought Nate, how lovely." She smiles.
"Nate brought you a gift, mom." You look to Nate, hoping he steps forward.
"You shouldn't have what a sweet boy." Nate places the flowers in front of your mom, sitting it in a vase on her hospital desk.
"They're beautiful, Nate, thankyou." She gets a little teary.
"You're welcome, I'm gonna grab a drink Olivia, do you want anything?" Nate smiles at your mom.
"Sure. I'll take a soda, please." You smile at Nate.
"Mrs Y?" Nate, looks at your mom a moment.
"A water would be nice," She remarks.
"Coming right up," Nate disappears out of the room. Your mom turns to you.
"I'm glad you're getting on with Nate." She beams.
"He's been good to me." You smile.
"I can tell, how's Sam?" She asks.
"Sam's in the waiting room." You begin.
"Why didn't you bring him in?" Your mom gives you a confused expression.
"We had a fight, and I don't think we can fix it this time, mom." You reply gently.
"Oh, that's a shame." Your mom looks sad.
Nate enters the room again, drinks in hand.
"Everything okay?" He asks, looking between you and your mom.
"Yeah, fine, thanks for the soda." You grab the soda from Nate.
"Cherry your favourite, just like when we were kids." Nate gives you a warm smile.
"Yeah, thank you. I was just telling mom about football." You fill Nate in on the conversation you and your mom had.
"Yeah?" Nates shocked because you never talk football.
"Yeah, you should talk to her, I've gotta run to the bathroom." You smile. Hastily leaving the room.
You leave Nate with your mom and head to the waiting room to grab Sam.
"Mom wants to see you." You inform Sam.
"Sure, does she know?" Sam glances at your leg.
"What that you almost killed me? No, she doesn't." You hiss.
"Yeah, that." Sam looks at the ground. He's clearly feeling guilty for what he did.
"Get moving. If mom asks, we are fine." You pull Sam towards your mom's room.
You enter the room again this time with Sam.
"Sam's here." You smile at your mom.
Nate glares at him, his eyes glowing with rage. You place your arm on his to try and get him to calm down.
"I'm glad you three made up." Your mom looks at the three of you.
"Yeah, me too." The three of you reply in unison.
"Sam, how is Madison doing?" You try to change the subject.
"Yeah, she's good. Have you guys not spoken?" Sam looks confused since you and Madison used to talk all the time.
"No, i haven't been to practice in weeks thanks to my busted ankle." You smile.
"Oh, yeah, she's doing good." Sam replies.
"How far along is she now?" Your mom asks.
"Six weeks, i think." Sam replies.
" I hope I get to meet the baby." Your mom's words tear at your heart. You look at Nate. He gives you a reassuring look, like part of him, hopes she will be here with us for Sam's baby being born.
"We should really get going. See you later, mom." You hug your mom and leave for campus again. The car ride back is silent.
You arrive at Campus, you're in the parking lot, Nate turns to you as you climb out of his truck to head up to your dorm room.
"Are you going to talk to me? You've been quiet the whole ride back." Nate seems worried.
"I'm not okay. Mom's ill, Sams a jerk." You feel tears building, without hesitation, Nate pulls you into a cuddle.
"Thanks." You sob into his shoulder.
"Come on, let's grab some lunch, Ella's probably looking for you." Nate smiles.
You head to the cafeteria with Nate. As you enter and head to your usual table, you see Ella sitting with Kain and two other people. You approach the table.
"Madison, you look great." You gasp, pulling her into a hug.
"As do you captain" madison beams with pride.
"So soon?" You're nervous about taking on the role.
"Yep. I'll still be here for a little while as co captain." Madison reassures you.
"Great." You make eye contact with the second person at the table.
"Zack," you remark bluntly.
"Olivia," Zack replies just as bluntly.
"Where's Taylor?" You notice she's not clinging to him for once.
"We-erm, broke up." Zack explained, embarrassed.
"Ah, that's a shame." You ignore Zack and sit opposite Ella.
"How's your mom?" Ella asks.
"She's getting worse, I'd like you to meet her before she gets sicker." You give Ella a soft smile.
"I'd love to." Ella almost falls off her chair with happiness.
"Great, we can go after class tomorrow." You smile at Ella. She gives you a nod of agreement.
"Can I tag along. Sam won't take me. He thinks I'll get sick, and he panics too much." Madison asks sweetly.
"Sure." You smile at Madison.
"I'll drive us." Madison replies.
You notice Zack glancing at you. You ignore him and turn to Nate, who seems fixated on Zack. You place your half on his knee, and his expression softens a little.
"Did you guys hear, Beta is having a movie night?" Ella quickly changes the subject, hoping it won't be as awkward.
"I don't think you're meant to invite everyone, babe. I was allowed to invite you because you're my girlfriend." Kain laughs at Ella.
"So? Olivia can come, right?" Ella grins at Kain, hoping he agrees.
"I don't think so. She'd have to be dating a beta." Kain explains.
"Aren't you guys dating?" Ella gestures between you and Nate.
"No. I already told you, " You glare at Ella.
"She can be your date. Right, Nate?" Ella grins at Nate.
"Sure." Nate laughs.
Zack stands up from his chair and storms out of the cafeteria in a huff.
"What's his problem?" Nate asks.
"No idea." Ella laughs.
"I gotta go, I need to study before getting ready for movie night." You stand up to leave.
"I'll come with you." Ella stands up to follow you.
"I'll walk you up too." Nate also joins you.
You, Nate and Ella walk to your dorm. Ella slides into the dorm leaving you and Nate alone in the corridor.
"Well I guess i should go." Nate blushes a little.
You lock eyes with Nate and lean in, pressing a kiss on his lips, ut was brief but it was something.
"I-erm I" Nates face is bright red like a tomato.
"I never thought I'd see the day Nate Winters is speechless" You laugh.
"You took me by surprise." Nate laughs with you.
"That was the purpose." You smirk at him.
"Oh really." Nate smirks back.
Nate pulls you closer, he places a kiss on your lips he's more passionate, he lingerie a little.
"Now I really have to go." Nate laughs.
"Sure, see you later." You hug Nate and head inside your dorm room.
"OMG! You guys are so cute!" Ella practically squeals this.
"Nothing happened." You remark. Clearly knowing that's a lie.
"Yet. But you're going to movie night, it's the perfect first date." Ella replies enthusiastically.
You slump onto your bed to study for the next few hours after picking out what you're wearing for the movie night.
You've been back at campus two weeks; Blake's been avoiding you which is super odd since you were close before the holidays. “Is it just me or has Blake been acting strange?” Oscar asked. “I've noticed that too.” You replied, a little concerned. “Weren't you two close before the break?” Nate questioned. “I thought we were, he hasn't spoken to me since we came back.” You sighed, sadly. “So go talk to him, find out what's going on.” Tara encourages you to talk to him. Before you can reply, Zack interrupts. “Don't bother, I can assure you he won't talk, I've tried talking to him, I got nowhere.” “But this is Olivia that will be speaking to him, maybe she will get somewhere.” Tara explained. “I'll text him, see if he wants to go for a coffee, we can talk then.” You remarked. “Good idea.” Tara replied. He reads it but doesn't reply. “I think he's mad at me, he's read it but not replied.” You explained. “It's fine, let him sulk, try to catch him after our practice.” Nate smiled.
You've arrived at Nate's for the holidays; his mom greets you. “Are you two looking forward to the holidays?” she hugs you as you enter the house. “Sort of, it's my first one alone” You sigh a little, remembering Sam and your mom aren’t here for the holidays. “I'm sorry Hunnie, I'll make it as fun as possible.” She hugs you. “Thankyou.” You give her a soft smile. “Why don't you two head upstairs and unpack, I'll work on dinner.” She nodded in the direction of the stairs. You and Nate head upstairs. “So, our first Christmas together as a couple.” Nate beams at you. “You don't have to make small talk, to try and make me feel better.” You smile, softly. “I know but I also know it's hard for you right now.” Nate sighed sadly. “As long as we have each other I'll be okay.” You reassured him. “I wanted to give you a gift early, to lighten the mood a little.” He smiled at you. “Oh erm, I brought yours, do you want one now?” You blush a little, showing him the nicely wrapped gift
You're back in the frat; you find Nate for the long-awaited conversation. “Can we talk? "You asked Nate. “Sure.” He smiled; you grab Nate's hand and pull him out of earshot of the group. “I was wondering if you wanted to get back together, like end the break?” You blurted quickly. “I've been waiting weeks for that question, yes!” He beamed. “I’m glad that’s settled.” You smile sweetly. “Did you manage to figure everything out?” Nate asked, curious. “I'm pretty sure I did, I realised I'm happiest with you.” You smiled at him again. “And I’m happiest when I’m with you.” Nate wraps you in a hug. “Taylor told me about the pool party.” You remarked. “My mom organised it.” Nate replied, sadly. “And she didn’t invite me?” You stare at him in shock. “She doesn’t like you.” Nate replied, quickly. “Oh.” You feel a bit of sadness wash over you. “I'm sure you can find a way to make her love you almost as much as I love you.” Nate smiled, reassuring you. Nate pulls you close, it fee
You arrive back at campus; you rush to the football field to find Nate. He looks worried. Nate spots you and gives you a sweet smile, you wave to him, you head for a seat and watch the rest of practice. He jogs over to you after practice is over, he wraps you in a hug. “I was so worried, what happened, tell me everything.” He looked at you panicked. “Let’s go back to Beta and I’ll tell you.” You remarked. Nate follows you back, he quickly changes and places himself next to you on the bed. “Who's behind the messages?” Nate asked, eagerly. “Ella.” You remarked. “What?” Nate stares at you. “Taylor was blackmailing her.” You continued. “Oh, and has Ella apologised?” Nate asked. “Yeah, it's all good, I'm gonna kill Taylor though.” You added, just at the mention of Taylor's name your blood boils. “So, the messages should stop now?” Nate asked, concerned. “I hope so.” You remarked. “Maybe everything can finally go the way we want it to.” Nate moves closer to you, love fills his ey
You were hanging out with Nate in his room in the Beta house, you had the last two weeks to think about everything and heal a little from the death of your mom and Sam. “How's things been?” Nate asked, carefully, rubbing the bottom of your back. “Okay, if I’m being honest.” You smiled, reassuringly. “Did you figure things out about us yet?” Nate asked, sheepishly. “Not quite, I will soon, it's been a lot to process.” You smile softly at him. “I understand.” Nate replied, a little hint of sadness in his voice. You head into the Livingroom to be greeted by Blake and Oscar; Blake wraps you in a hug. “My favourite person, how’s things?” Blake beamed at you. “They’re good.” You laughed at Blake. Nate is staring daggers at Blake. Blake hasn't noticed, you pull away and sit on the sofa. “So, Oscar, where’s Tara?” You grin at him. “She’s just getting ready.” Oscar blushes a little. “Are you two dating?” You asked. “Yes.” He blushed harder. Tara comes skipping into the Livingroo
It's been two weeks since Sam's death and you and Nate going on a break, you're hanging out with Blake, Zack and Oscar. "So you want to throw a party?" Blake asked, grinning like a Cheshire cat. "Yup." You laughed. "And that's why you need us?" Blake questioned. "I need the best party throwers in the house." You smiled, buttering Blake up. "Always, well since you asked so nicely, how can i say no?" Blake smiled at you. "Okay, well, erm, can you get the beer, please?" You asked, sweetly. "Has princess not got ID?" Blake mocks you. "No, you have to be 21, douchebag." You laughed in response. "I'm not 21." Blake replied. "You could pass for it." You smirked. "Really? What are you saying?" Blake gave you a skeptical look. "Calm your ego, I'm saying you look old." You laughed, mocking him. Zack and Oscar laugh, you notice Nate is stood there. "You good man?" Blake turned to Nate and asked. "Yeah, i was hoping we could talk Olivia?" Nate smiled at you. "I'm a little busy bu
