Garvin's POV

He sat down opposite me, and we were silent for a very long time.

"What you said you want to just see me, what did you want?" I asked.

He was silent, making me sit there in suspense. As a matter of fact, he was the only one who could do this to me, the only one allowed to not answer my question when it was direct.

"Something is wrong with you," he said.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"I said that something is wrong with you," he said in a deep voice.

"What are you talking about?" I asked him.

"Calm down," he said. "Do you have anything that you would like to tell me about?"

"No," I said. "Why do you ask?"

"Because something is obviously bothering you," he said, drumming on the table impatiently.

"Didn't you come here to tell me something?" I asked.

"Well, of course, I did. I came here so that I would find out how Tracy is doing," he said with a smile. "How is she doing?"

"Is that honestly what you all came here for?" I asked.

"I also came here to see you personally. After all the
