Chapter 3

Author: Ricordi
I was basically thrown into the cell and was starved for two days.

My energy drained, my reopened wounds began to fester.

The door opened, and while I thought it was Yohan, I heard Eva's gleeful laughter instead.

"Did you think it was Yohan? Oh, you're so funny, Yvie."

"What are you doing here?!" I snapped, not at all surprised to see that look on her face.

"What, you ask?!"

Eva snapped her fingers, and two male lycans leaped up at me.

"Let go of me!" I snarled and struggled, but I didn't have the strength to fight, completely helpless as they injected something inside me.

Eva then grabbed my jaw, growling coolly, "I used to envy how you always had the Alpha to yourself, so I'm really grateful that you saved him… so that I can steal your place! As a reward, I'll give you a night you'll never forget!"

She snapped her fingers again, and in came the rogue lycan who stabbed me during the second marking ceremony.

"W-What are you doing?!" I backed away despite my limp form.

That only made Eva laugh harder, and she told the rogue lycan, "Don't kill her—keep her alive, so that Yohan can see her true face…"

Just as she finished, a female lycan ran inside. "My lady. The Bloodmoon Kingdom's inquisitor has arrived, and they are asking to see our Luna. Our Alpha is asking for you."

Eva smirked at me and left with her cronies, leaving just me and that rogue lycan in the cell.

He was licking his lips, chuckling, "Oh, you're so beautiful… That's why the Alpha loved you so much."

As he lunged on top of me and clawed my clothes, he said, "Don't worry, I'll make you feel good."

I tried to struggle, but I had even less strength after I was drugged, and despair unfurled inside me.

Was I going to die now, butchered by this filthy lycan?

No… No!!!

I refused to die! I had yet to see Yohan and Eva being punished!

Mustering strength out of nowhere, I kicked the rogue lycan in the groin and rushed outside while he reeled in pain.

Eva had left the door open so that she could come straight inside when she brought Yohan, and I escaped smoothly thanks to that!

-

Meanwhile, Yohan had taken Eva to meet River Moon, the Inquisitor of the Bloodmoon Kingdom.

She was surprised that it wasn't me. "Alpha Yohan, is that woman your Luna?"

Yohan nodded, determined. "Yes, she mentally regressed to five years old to save me. I was just hoping that your shaman could help cure her."

River frowned, but remembering my father's orders, she decided to negotiate. "We can cure her, but on one condition—there's someone here I must see."

"Who?"

"Yvie Stark."

Yohan immediately presumed that I had committed a crime, but he agreed to it regardless. "Of course, but your shaman must cure Eva first."

Eva cringed in panic in his arms. "I don't wanna... I'm scared…"

Yohan didn't see that she was panicking, merely patting her head and assured her, "Be good, Eva. You will be better after the shaman helps you."

-

River almost didn't recognize me when Yohan's men threw me unceremoniously in front of the Bloodmoon Kingdom's envoy.

I was covered in injuries, and my festered wounds stank, while my cheeks were flushed unnaturally—there wasn't even a hint of dignity left in me as the heir to the Bloodmoon Kingdom.

Yohan glanced at me in disdain before turning to bow his head at River. "Apologies. While I'm not sure why this peasant lycan did to offend you, I will make sure to punish her—"

Even before Yohan finished, River slapped him furiously across the face. "How dare you hurt her!"

Then, she ran over to catch me, holding me up to my feet while glaring viciously at Yohan. "You have no idea who she is?! She's—"

And with those words, I snapped my fingers, and a frenzied lycan dashed into the room, charging straight for Yohan! He was a member of the royal guard sent by my father, and his strength more than outclassed the average Alpha.Soon, the royal guard knocked Yohan to the floor, his sharp claws and teeth shredding his clothes and leaving a bloody mess.I stood and watched, my gaze cold and my heart feeling both a sense of thrill and a vague bitterness.Turning to River, I asked, "I'm no better than him now, am I?"River took my hand as she smiled, shaking her head. "No. This is the punishment he deserved and brought upon himself! You've done nothing wrong!"I turned to look at Yohan—passed out and bleeding all over—and sighed. "Come on, let's go home. I miss it."I made sure to leave a group who would continue to punish Yohan and Eva, while I returned with River to the Bloodmoon Kingdom.I had mostly healed, but my father still winced upon seeing my scars.Feeling his tender affe

However, Yohan kept coming to my room every day to dote on me, as if he never understood what I said.River told me two things about him then. The first was that he was trying to investigate who I was in secret—but it was delusional, considering that he was just an ordinary pack Alpha. The second was that he had prepared yet another marking ceremony for me, but this one was far grander than any before it.He was even emptying the pack's treasure, all so to earn my forgiveness. He really thought that I was that naive, huh? After all the things he had done, a trickle of affection wouldn't heal the scars in my heart.Once the shaman gave me the medicine to clear Yohan's suppressants from my body, I'd heal in just three days.In the meantime, I planned on how I should punish Yohan and Eva as they deserved.First, I sent River to inform Eva—whom Yohan had locked up—that Yohan was once again holding a marking ceremony for me.She was barely recognizable now after Yohan had torture

After leaving me, Yohan returned to our room.Ever since Eva convinced him she saved him, he rarely shared a bed with me, even though this room was something we had worked overnight to design together. We even planned a nursery right next to it for our pups.Instead, what did Yohan do?For Eva's sake, he fed me suppressants that stopped me from healing. Now, sitting on our bed, he stared at our old photos and remembered the good times.During spring, we would travel to the fields far away from the pack to see the blossom flowers. In the summer, we'd be relaxing at the nearby lakes, playing in the cool waters and catching fish, cooking them at the hut by the banks. He would let me take the first bite, and I would remove the bones for him.During autumn, we would stroll through the orchards, plucking the sweetest fruits from the branches. And we would make snowmen during winter…In the end, he treated his guilt toward Eva as love, disappointing me, betraying me, and ultimately

My wounds were terrible, and I passed out after I held out until we reached my room. After the shaman my doctor sent cleaned my wounds, he told River to take good care of me while he reported my condition to my father.Father contacted me when I woke up, bellowing furiously, "Why didn't you tell me that he was hurting you?! I'll make him regret ever being born!"I sighed, feeling both exasperated but also a warmth in my heart. "I just haven't tied up this loose end good enough, Dad. Just give me time—I want to deal with this myself. I'll be back when I'm done."We chatted a little too, after which I hung up and heard the knock on my door.I thought it was River, but instead, it was Yohan."What are you doing here?" I growled.Seeing the wariness in my eyes, Yohan's gaze flickered with guilt and frustration. "I heard you're really hurt, so I came to check on you…"I snorted. "What, you have no idea how I got hurt?"Yohan promptly hung his head, afraid to even look me in the eye

Thankfully, the Bloodmoon Kingdom shaman returned just then. "Alpha Yohan, I have a report on Lady Eva Brown."At the same time, I spoke through my parched lips, "Moon… Let Yohan see the report first."River nodded and promptly turned to the shaman. "What are you spacing out for? Just do it, and then help Yvie!"The panic was clear on Eva's face just then, and she kept trying to pull Yohan away from reading the report. "Yohan… I'm feeling faint. Can you carry me to bed?"Yohan coaxed her softly again. "Be good, Eva. I'll do that after the report, okay?"Seeing them flirt so inseparably, River had enough. She snatched the report from the shaman and read out loud to Yohan. "The report indicates that Eva Brown is mentally sound, and her brain shows no signs of damage!"Yohan froze. "What? Say what again?"River's eyes became even colder. "I said—Eva Brown is sane!""No, that's impossible!" Yohan bellowed as he snatched the report out of River's hand and studied it intently.Eva's
