55. Taking Care Of Her

Gwaine’s POV:

The drive home was quiet and pleasant as Catherine was already asleep in the car. I watched her as she slept, occasionally helping her maintain a good position as she kept dozing in all directions.

I secured the wheel with one hand and used the other to fix her seatbelt. Before we got into the car, I had asked her to buckle it but being the defiant that she was, she had refused.

From the moment I laid eyes on her earlier this evening, I couldn’t believe my eyes. She had a faint glow and the dim moonlight seemed to highlight it. Catherine was the kind of woman who stood out in a crowd. She was beautiful, in every sense of the word.

Her scent was particularly different tonight, a lot more feminine. I couldn’t tell if it was a new cologne or one of the numerous scented bath oils Nicole had purchased but it was heavenly. I took one last look at her and then smiled.
