Xander’s POV

We waited.

Three days we stood on that ridge and watched the rivers we had poisoned carry our decision downstream, and with every hour that passed the silence in my chest grew heavier.

On the fourth morning we moved. We did not ride. We walked. The first village was empty of sound.

No children in the square. No smoke from the hearths.

The second village had wolves lying in the dirt, and when I say wolves I do not mean beasts, I mean people who could not find their way back

  • Omega of Two Packs   Still Mine

Xander’s POVNoctaryn should have felt like home the moment we passed through the gates, but I couldn't find anything familiar in the place anymore. The courtyard was too quiet, and the usual movement of soldiers, servants, merchants, and palace workers had almost disappeared. The guards who remained stood at their posts, but most of them looked exhausted, with bandages wrapped around their arms and dried blood still visible on their armor.Nobody celebrated when they saw us. Nobody even smiled. They simply watched us enter as though they were still trying to understand how many of us had actually made it back.I couldn't blame them.Too many wolves had gone into that mountain. Too many had died there.I looked ahead and saw the palace rising beyond the courtyard, its tall walls untouched by the destruction that had taken place.Zeth rode beside me with Akim in his arms. The baby had been unusually quiet, sleeping against Zeth's chest while one tiny hand remained curled into the fabri

  • Omega of Two Packs   Stay With Me

Xander’s POV"Ashton!"I caught him before his body hit the ground. His weight dropped against me, and for one terrifying second, I thought I had lost him."Someone get a healer!"My voice carried across the clearing. Two guards immediately ran toward us.Zeth was already coming from the other side with Akim in his arms, and the baby was still crying. I lowered Ashton carefully onto the ground."Stay with me," I whispered. His eyes were closed. His breathing was so faint that I had to put my hand against his chest to feel it."Come on, Ashton."The healer arrived and dropped to his knees beside me. "Move back, Your Majesty."I didn't move."Xander," Zeth called. "Move back."I forced myself to shift away. The healer placed both hands against Ashton's chest and closed his eyes. A faint glow spread beneath his palms.Nothing happened. He tried again, this time pushing more power into the healing spell. Ashton's body jerked once.My heart stopped. "What is happening?"The healer pulled h

  • Omega of Two Packs   Ashton’s Wolf

Ashton's POVThe mountain was finally behind us, but I couldn't bring myself to look back at it.I had spent the last few hours expecting something else to happen. Another attack. Another explosion. Another shadow crawling out from beneath the rocks. After everything that had happened inside that mountain, peace felt almost as frightening as the fighting had been. The surviving soldiers were scattered across the forest, helping the wounded and carrying the bodies of those who hadn't made it out alive. Some of the soldiers had blood covering their clothes, while others limped as they moved between the trees. Nobody spoke loudly. Nobody celebrated. There was nothing to celebrate.I had watched too many people die in that mountain, even my dearest Aunt Hessa, and now I was standing among the survivors wondering why I was still here.Except I wasn't really standing. I looked down at my paws.White fur covered my legs, clean in some places and stained with dirt and blood in others. I stare

  • Omega of Two Packs   The final battle (part 2)

Zeth's povOur soldiers were fighting desperately to reach them, but there were too many bodies between us.I heard Xander shout. I heard one of our men scream. Then the boy and Akim began to glow.I stopped breathing. This wasn't the light Akim had released before. There was no sudden flash. The gold began between their bodies, where the boy held Akim against his chest. It spread across both of them. Then it exploded. The force hit me so hard that my feet left the ground. I flew backward and slammed into the altar. Pain tore through my ribs, and for a moment I couldn't hear anything except the ringing in my ears.Across the chamber, Xander was thrown into the wall. Void flew backward and lost his grip on the book. The Crescent Wolves were thrown through the air like they weighed nothing. Some crashed against the walls while others landed hard on the stone floor, groaning and struggling to move. Our soldiers weren't spared either. Men were thrown across the chamber, weapons flying fro

  • Omega of Two Packs   The Final Battle

Zeth's POVI was on the floor. My back had hit the stone hard, and my ribs felt like they had cracked against each other. For a few seconds, I couldn't get any air into my lungs. I tried to breathe, but all that came out was a cough that tasted like copper.Hessa's boy was beside me, his small body pressed against my side. He had both hands over his mouth, his eyes wide as he watched me struggle. He looked terrified, but he didn't run.I reached for him and pulled him closer, even though my arm was shaking badly.Across the chamber, the Book of Wolves hit the floor. The sound was heavier than it should have been. The cover slapped open, and the pages began turning by themselves. At first they moved slowly, but within seconds they were flying so fast I could barely follow them. Then the book started to glow.It wasn't the black light that always followed Void. This light was different.White-gold.The same gold that had surrounded Akim.A deep rumble moved through the mountain beneath

  • Omega of Two Packs   The Moon King

Xander’s POV Zeth moved beside me, ready.Void smiled. Then the shadows exploded. I barely got my sword up before a black tendril slammed into it. The force drove me backward, my boots scraping across stone, my shoulders hitting the wall hard. My teeth rattled.“Xander!” Zeth shouted.Another one came from my left. I ducked without thinking. It ripped through the air where my head had just been and smashed into the wall behind me. The stone cracked and bled darkness.Zeth didn’t wait. He charged. His sword cut through two shadows before they could touch him. He moved like I’d never seen him move before, not like a king, like a father who was about to lose his child again.Void lifted his hand like it was nothing. The floor beneath Zeth cracked open.A wall of darkness shot up between them, thick and alive. Zeth jumped back at the last second, landing hard on his back. He rolled and got up immediately, blood on his lip.“Get the baby!” he shouted at me, his voice raw, breaking. I didn
