10: 00 am Grunewald Berlin.

Hailey opened her eyes slowly, and stood up from the bed, yawning lazily as she headed straight to the bathroom tossing off her clothes on the way.

She turned on the shower, and let the water fall on her hair. She smiled when she saw the love marks her husband placed on her neck. Last night was one of their best nights as a couple.

Hailey blushed under the shower when she remembered the sweet words her husband told her last night. He made love to her like she was a treasure that can never be replaced.

She turned off the shower, grabbed her towel and headed back to the room, feeling so happy, and grateful to have a sweet man as her husband.

Smith is a Mafia Don, he treated her like a princess, and spoiled her with his wealth. As the Mafia Don's wife, Hailey was never allowed to do any house chores.

She lived comfortably in luxury, and was spoiled with his sweetness and gentleness.Hailey used her body and facial cream, before slipping into a red sleeveless gown that was exposing her cleavage and was highlighting all her feminine curves.

She let her hair fall on her shoulder, wore a set of bold earrings, and applied a red lipstick. Hailey smiled when she checked herself out in the dressing mirror. She was satisfied with her look. She picked a pair of black heels and stepped out of the room.

The servants must have finished their activities, judging by how clean and sparkly everywhere looked. Hailey descended the stairs, and was surprised when she saw her husband sitting on the cushion chair in the sitting room.

Her husband was there looking handsome as always, but he was even more handsome in his white t-shirt and blue jeans.

"He must be really tired this morning," Hailey muttered inwardly, and smiled lightly before walking closer to him.

"Good morning hubby," Hailey smiled when she got closer to him.

"Morning," he replied with a straight face which was so unusual.

He had been absent for the past week, he doesn't call to check up on her, and he doesn't pick up her calls either. She was scared to lose her marriage, so she went to his company to look for him but he was absent.

Until last night when he showed up and apologized for making her feel worried and insecure. Last night was a blast, why was he looking at her this way? His behaviour was strange, but she decided to cut it off thinking it was due to stress.

"Go and freshen up darling….."

"That won't be necessary," he interrupted her, with his facial expression unreadable as he handed her an envelope.

Hailey wondered what must have pissed him off so early in the morning. She sighed lightly, and extended her hand to collect the envelope from him.

Hot tears flowed on Hailey's cheeks when she saw the content on the envelope her husband handed to her. She was shocked and surprised, as she stared at him with total disbelief.

Today was supposed to be their wedding anniversary, they were both planning to celebrate it in a grand style. The hall has been decorated and the chefs were already cooking, some guests were even on their way to the venue.

She walked closer to him, closing the gap between them. She raised her head up to face him, looking at him eyeball to eyeball.

She wanted to be sure if he had really made up his mind to divorce her, she wanted to be sure if he could really say it to her face.

"Sign the paper Hailey," He sounded so impatient, as he stared at her with disgust.

Hailey was unable to utter a word, as she stood still rooted to a spot. She tried to control her tears from falling, however it was so impossible.

She never wanted their wedding anniversary to be this big but her husband wanted them to celebrate it in a grand style because of his status as a Mafia Don.

He is also a multi billionaire, and a very popular business tycoon in Germany. He is a handsome man with sexy features. Many women want to have him on their bed.

Hailey stared at their wedding frame that was hung in the sitting room for decoration, and forced a bitter smile.

"What have I done to deserve this," She asked, with her voice cutting through the thick air as the tension in the room grew stronger.

"You have done nothing wrong Hailey, you are just not fit to be the don's wife." He replied coldly, staring at her with disgust.

Hailey felt her words crumble immediately, those spiteful words escaped from the same lips that kissed her deeply and affectionately last night.

The same man she has loved and cherished for all her entire life. The same man that had good sex with her last night, telling her all the sweet things in the world. Hailey was shocked, she was wishing it was just a dream, but it wasn't.

Today was supposed to be their three year wedding anniversary for christ sake. Hailey stared at the paper, wondering if it was some kind of joke.

"If this is a joke, stop it, you have got me," She said, hoping for a good response from him.

"It's not a joke Hailey, just sign the darn paper and name your price," He said coldly, making Hailey wonder if he was the same man she has been living with for three years.

She wanted to ask him if their three years of union have been nothing to him, she wanted to ask him a lot of questions but it seemed Smith had already made up his mind.

Still she looked at him, wondering why he wanted a divorce. She has done nothing wrong, she has been a good wife to him.

"Why," She said, with her voice almost like a whisper.

He looked at her coldy and told her to sign.

"Did you think I don't deserve to know why you did this, Do you really think I don't deserve to know what I have done wrong? she yelled, expecting a reaction from him.

He just stood there, cold, expressionless, silent, and impatient.

Hailey used her handkerchief to wipe away her tears, before picking up a pen to sign the paper.

"I hope you don't regret this," Hailey mumbled as she signed the divorce papers and turned around to leave.

"Your price, name it," he said coldly

She turned around surprised, she was surprised that he thought her love for him can be bought with money.

"Keep your fucking money," She declared "I don't need it.'

He smiled and walked closer to her, " You are poor Hailey, you are so poor and pathetic, how are you going to survive?"

Hailey was shocked, she tried to control the tears that were threatening to fall. "Is that what you are thinking I am?" She asked, hoping for a positive response from him this time.

"That is what you are, Hailey, you are not suitable to be a mafia's wife..I am not just a Mafia Hailey..," He stated, walking closer to her "I am the Don."

"And you figured it out after three years," Hailey forced a smile, she has vowed not to shed a single tear in front of him anymore. He doesn't deserve her tears.

"Yes," He declared with a lower voice this time.

"Don't be so sure about that,"Hailey said and turned around to leave.

"I will ask the servants to discard your things." Smith said, removing a cigar from his pocket.

"It's your money Smith," Hailey declared "Do what you want with it."

"Hailey, you deserved to know the truth," Smith said.

"What truth?" Hailey asked

"I never loved you from the beginning, I never loved you when we met at the bar. I got married to you in order to save my name, and make my empire stronger... Now that I have achieved all I need I think it's time we both move on."

"Life is a game," Hailey stated "We all have a part to play in it."

With that she stepped out of his mansion, his life, and everything that has to do with him. It was a very hard decision to make, and he left her no choice.

Hailey walked out of the mansion gracefully, with her heels making a loud sound in the empty hallway.

"Madame, the Don asked me to give you a ride to where you are headed." The driver said immediately, she stepped out of the mansion.

"I don't need a ride from him," Hailey half yelled and stepped out of the gate.

Am I ugly, am I useless… Have I been a bad wife to Smith? Hailey has loved Smith so much. She have respected him and care for him just like every good wife does. Hot tears flowed from her eyes as she walked helplessly in the street.

How dare he? How dare he mess up with her. He took her love for granted, and as if that wasn't enough. He married her to save his name, used her to make his empire stronger, and dumped her when he achieved his goal.

"If only he knew that she has been secretly helping him get contracts in his company just to see him smile.

She took her phone and dialed a number. The person from the other end picked almost immediately.

"Hello ma'am"

"Cancel all the joint business we have with Hale's enterprises,"

"Yes ma'am"

Hailey hung up and smiled sadistically. I am just getting started Smith, I am gonna show you how poor I am.

She boarded a taxi and headed straight to her mansion, that's right she has a big mansion that Smith doesn't know about. She never expected to return back to her mansion looking so hurt and pitiful.

He believed she was a poor woman that had no influence, and dined with poor people, unknown to him. She owned one of the largest fashion companies in Germany.

She was planning to make everything a surprise to Smith but he ended up surprising her anyway. She never expected to come back to her mansion looking so messed up.

Hailey Logan is 26 years old. She studied business admin in the university of Freiburg in Germany. After graduating, her parents died in a car accident. She mourned them for two years before deciding to start afresh.

She built herself with the money her late parents kept in her name, and became a successful business woman. She was living a low profile lifestyle until she met her husband Smith Hale in a bar. To her it was a love at first sight.

They talked, exchanged numbers and dated. Months later he proposed, she accepted and they celebrated their wedding in a very famous hotel in Germany.

She stepped out of the cab and paid the driver, before stepping into the mansion. Immediately the maids maids saw her, they paved way for her like the queen she was.

She stepped into the building, ascended the stairs and headed straight to her room. Pushing open the door, and closing the door behind her she fell on her knees in tears.

This is hard, so hard. How dare he say it to her face that he never loved her. Does that mean all the sweet moments they have shared together meant nothing to him.

Does that mean all the promises he made to her were fake promises?

She felt so betrayed, hurt, shattered, and broken by the man she has loved all her life. How dare Smith do that to her, she would eventually make him pay for using her to protect his useless empire.
