“Please tell me you heard someone say Ow,” Hayden said as he pulled over. Troy was driving behind us and pulled over, Reagan following behind. We stepped out of the car.
“What’s going on?” Troy asked as he stepped out of the car with Matt.
“We’re about to find out,” I said as I opened the trunk. Sitting right there, looking as guilty as ever, was Paxton.
“Hi,” he smiled, making Angelina giggle.
I raised an eyebrow, amused at him. “Paxton, what are you doing?”
“Going to my new home?” he grinned, flashing his missing teeth.
“Little man, you can’t just leave like that! What will your parents say?” I scolded. His whole mood shifted.
“Paxton is an orphan,” Hayden informed us.
“We still can’t just take him with us,” I pointed out.
