“I didn’t know what else to do,” she mumbles finally, gripping the back of a chair as if it’ll keep her grounded.

“So you cheated,” I say flatly. “That’s how you plan to grow stronger? By tipping the scale in your favor instead of training harder?”

“I—”

“I’m disappointed,” I cut in, my voice low and cold now. “Olivia, I'm deeply disappointed in you. You fought an unshifted wolf, in a fair match, and still decided to use your power. Do you know what that makes you?”

She shakes her head slowly, eyes shining with shame.

“Weak,” I say. “The weakest kind of fighter there is.”

She winces as if the words cut deep. Good.

“I’ve noticed something,” I say finally, voice calm but clipped. “You’ve started to believe you can do whatever you want.”

Olivia blinks. “I... I don’t understand what you mean.”

“No?” I tilt my head slightly. “Your friends…What was his name again? Ah, yes. Trent and his little gang always seem to try bullying her.”
