A beautiful woman rested on the armchair inside the desolate dim room.

There was no other source of light except for moonlight peeking through the windows.

The moonlight reflected on her milky white skin, making it shine like freshly polished white jade.

The raven black hair enhanced her flawless face and her eyes, the color of flames shimmered like glitter. The moonlight gave her a celestial glow.

Anyone who had witnessed the sight would think of her as a fairy descended from the heavens.

She had a jaded look kept on her face. As if nothing in this world was worth her interest.

She glanced at the sapphire blue sky adorned by the twinkling stars.

Blue hydrangea flowers bloomed around the window and the pearly moonshine enhanced its beautiful blue color, making it a breathtaking sight.

"What a beautiful sight" she murmured and let an ironic sneer form on her pink lips.

A bitter taste burned her tongue. Maybe it was the wine or the bitterness in her heart.

The eerie silence tightened around her like an enormous serpent, smothering her as time passed by.

Utterly alone in the darkroom. So alone, she thought it would be a delight if a ghost showed up to accompany her in her loneliness.

Ghosts are better than people. They are dead. She sipped her red wine to calm herself.

The wine seared her throat, but it did not bother her. She was used to it. The wine was her best companion.

It accompanied her in both happiness and sorrow like a soulmate would. Savouring it slowly carries her to wonderland. She turned on the CD player, hoping for some music to change her mood.

She leaned back and closed her eyes and twirled the wineglass in her hand. The song sends shivers down her spine.

Baby, I'm preying on you tonight

Hunt you down eat you alive

Just like animals

Animals

Like animals-miles

Maybe you think that you can hide

I can smell your scent for miles

Just like animals

Animals

Like animals-miles

Baby, I'm

So what you trying to do to me

It's like we can't stop, we're enemies

But we get along when I'm inside you, eh

You're like a drug that's killing me

I cut you out entirely

But I get so high when I'm inside you

Yeah you can start over you can run free

You can find other fish in the sea

You can pretend it's meant to be

But you can't stay away from me

I can still hear you making that sound

Taking me down rolling on the ground

You can pretend that it was me

But no, oh

Baby, I'm preying on you tonight

Hunt you down eat you alive

Just like animals

Animals...

This song was a curse to her ears. That demon who had ruined her sang it every time he unleashed his wrath on her. He would make her endure each and every lashing with those sadistically smiling eyes...

"This song is my favourite now Alexandra, you know why?" He would crush her face between his diabolical hands, and imprint deep bruises. "It's because this is the perfect love song for us, the love between a pray and a predator."

The demon sang this song to her as a warning that she will never escape from him, not even in death.

She gulped down the wine in panic and some dripped from the edge of her mouth and some of it stained her white shirt.

"You are mine Alexandra, you cannot escape, not even in your next life"

"If you try to run away, I will break your legs"

"You are the flower I carefully chose for myself"

"I will never let you go, not even in your dreams"

CRASH!!

She threw the wineglass to the darkest corner of the room and it shattered into a hundred pieces.

Terror devoured her, her hands trembled vigorously, she cupped her ears with it.

"Aargh stop!!!!"

She screamed. Her thoughts became unstable. Tears formed in her eyes, slowly sliding down her beautiful face and falling on the ground.

She took the bottle of wine and gulped down the entire bottle. The wine made her calm, although she itched for a smoke she wouldn't because she had promised someone.

She smashed the CD player with the wine bottle, turning it off out of utter rage, pieces of the green-colored glass all over the table and floor.

She leaned in the armchair, closing her eyes. Her cheeks crimsoned because of the wine. She tried to sleep but couldn't.

The nightmare will haunt her again and again.

"I can't sleep"

She placed her hand over her eyes hoping to fall asleep as the time passed by...

  • Return of the CEO's Empress    The devil's escape

One could hear in the bleak eerie hallways of the asylum the clattering of chains, as a man dragged it through the metallic floor. His black-and-white striped prisoner’s clothing had bloodstains on it. His pace was slow and wobbly because of the heavy chains attached to his legs and hands and bound skin rotting off along the rusting metal.“Sir, we brought him,” the guard said and looked keenly at the captive. He ducked his head, his lips drawn into a straight line, his eyes covered with his overgrown bangs so they could only see only the white portion of his eyes through it.“Good, bring him in.”The guard pushed open the interrogation room. A person inside could not see or listen to what was outside. The captive was silent the whole time, his eyes still down, looking at the guard’s legs as he followed and another guard closely stalking behind. In the middle of the dim room, there was a light bulb just above the wooden table, the only source of light in that entire room, with two cha

Including Josaphine’s and she would not shy away from appeasing Josaphine to gain her goodwill.***The place was the classic American home. A porch, a long veranda, high rooftops, and a yard that was big as a children’s park. It seemed like Josephine liked to keep the place uncomplicated and clean.Jonathan’s mother, according to his words, was the finest cook in the world. A woman who liked to do her own chores and leave them to the housekeeper. Who dressed simply, loved handling household affairs, and went to church religiously every single Sunday and pra

  • Return of the CEO's Empress    A happy ending?

The soft silk sheets rustled as Alexandra stretched her arm to cuddle her husband. Her core was still sore from the slow-burning, passionate sex they had all night long. Letting out a groan, she buried her face into his neck which was specked with dark stubble. Oh, how she loved his beard. The rough texture was so satisfying to caress, and the feel of a stubbled cheek grazing her between her thighs was simply titillating. As she draped her long leg around his waist, a sharp, needle-like pain shot in her womb. She lifted the duvet and to her panic; she saw two blots of bloodstains on the sheets, mocking her. Her breath shriveled up in her throat and a malaise emerged in her womb.Swinging her legs to the floor, she rushed to the bathroom and removed her panties, and inserted her finger inside her, coating them with warm blood.“You will never be a mother.” The devil hissed, drawing out its forked tongue. “You will never get back what you’ve lost.”Her hand flew to her mouth to prevent

Sunrays poured through the tall windows of the church’s bridal suite, giving the white room a golden touch. The ladies were all busy tending to the bride’s wedding dress.Evangeline could barely breathe withch her bosom caged in the tight corset. “I will die.” She wheezed, holding on to the vanity table.“Oh, you won’t! I will see to it.” Catherine said, determined to make the dress fit. It seemed perfect when they tried it out in the bridal boutique.“I will become the first person to die for fashion.” Evan joked.Alexandra laughed, listening to this as she flipped a glossy page of a fashion magazine. She closed it and approached Evan to see what was going on with the dress.“I think it would be better if we pinned it first,” Alexandra suggested.“Pass me the pin, dear,” Catherine said, holding the edges of the corset tight.Alexandra skimmed through the small box of safety pins and passed it to her mother. Catherine pressed the ends of the corset securely and pinned them together. “

TRIGGER WARNING: The following chapter may be upsetting to some viewers. It contains violence and gore.***Blackness leaked into Gabriel’s subconscious like thick tar, impeding him from registering his surroundings for a few minutes. He blinked off the bleary vision and discovered himself in a bleak chamber, tied up in a metal chair with ropes that bit into his skin. The only source of light was the pale yellow lightbulb hanging above his head.He felt brainless, as one would get when drunk on spirit. He tried to recall where he was before ending up in this place. At the police station, the officers had locked him up for several days and questioned him for evidence. The trial was still ongoing, but an anonymous bailed him, giving the officers a hefty amount to free him. Gabriel didn’t know anyone who loved him so much to bail him out of jail, even after being aware of what evils he did. The moment he got out of the police station, a masked, who had bailed him asked to join him to me

The steel door shut before Anastasia with a rude screech and an ear-splitting rhythm of metal against metal, resounding around the cell walls and into her ears like pinballs. Anastasia gripped the metal bars and squeezed herself against it. “How long will I be here?” She asked.“Until someone comes in here and bails you.” The forty-something-year-old blonde officer sneered. She had confessed all of her crimes to the police this morning and stupidly thought they would let her go home. Home? Where will she go? Mama didn’t want her anymore. Papa will soon be prosecuted for all the crimes he had done in his lifetime.Kameron probably didn’t want her anymore, since their marriage was incomplete. Silvano was her only way out of here.
