A reputed family

(Livia)

“Your family is one of the greatest… I expect you, Mr. Altamira no, to at least take after your father” it went on and on, and I was beginning to think the lady was obsessed with my family.

There never went a day when she didn't remind me about how great my mom was or how good of a lawyer my father had been throughout his existence, now my foolish little brother added to the long list of the two of us behaving like our last name.

“I expect the best from you, Ms. Altamirano…if not, then I'll have no choice but to call in your mother” Ms. Gomez added with a slam of her palm on the desk startling us, but we regained our wits and nodded at her words

“Now leave my office,” she said, turning away with a heavy exhale, and I didn't even waste time as I dragged my brother out by the ear. He was a fool to come running to my University from his school without even minding about my reputation.

“Ouch…ouch…sis come on it's hurting” he whined as I continued to drag him out, not even minding about the girls standing in the hallway looking at us with amusement in their eyes. We left from there until we got to the stairs heading down, did I let go of his ear.

“Ouch! Come on Oli… I just came to get some cash…well, do you have any money” he said while rubbing his red and swollen ear like a child and I stood there with both hands placed on my hips scanning him from head to toe? At 15 years old, my brother was so foolish. He didn't take anything seriously, and now he was at it again.

“Lalo give me a good reason why I shouldn't give you a beating right now?” I asked him while attempting to grab his weapon.

This time I wanted to make sure I pulled his ears hard, so he could cry until mom felt it. He was too much of a troublemaker.

“Forget that sis… I'm 16"

“15” I corrected him

“Same difference…the thing is…our Dad didn't unfreeze my card… I need cash to keep this running smoothly” he said dramatically while gesturing at his body hastily which had me frowning at his stupidity. I had no objection to his handsome look, especially since he was taller than his age.

Some thought he was already twenty which was why girls at my University thought he was old enough to date and like a fool he did this all the time just to get a glimpse of beautiful girls but as his older sister I had a cane, and I wasn't afraid to use it on him and beat him to a pulp

“Lalo I'll count up to ten and if…” I said, preparing to whack the living daylight out of him when Sydney came from down the stairs holding my puppy in her arms. She was snuggling to it, and immediately I saw her. I rushed down and.

“Did she make trouble…that woman nearly killed her”I snatched it from her and snuggled it in my arms. This puppy was closer to my heart and meant the universe to me mainly because it was given last year on my 19th birthday by a man who meant more than my life.

He was everything a girl required, from his pure male scent which was like saffron with vanilla which seemed like his natural scent, to a creamy, smoky scent that drove me insane.

I couldn't even add to his beautiful oval-shaped hazel eyes with sharp edges.

I could stare at him for eternity. He was everything I wanted, and my favorite was that he was taller than I. There wasn't a day I never dreamed of him, which was why I was staring at my phone throughout the entire class. He promised to call me and tell me if he was coming back.

“Ahem” someone clears their throat and I snapped back to reality only to look around me and found countless people gathered around and staring at me.

“Umm, hey everyone,” I said awkwardly and cradled my homie in my arms even more. Sydney and Lalo we're standing beside me.

“Well we were just wondering, Oli…is well…” one of the girls said smiling at me and I didn't have to ask more to hear what they had to say

“Sorry, guys, I forgot…please come with me. Syd stay with him, “I remarked smiling at them and glanced at Sydney and warned her to stay with my brother while I gave out my birthday invitation to everyone who loved attending my parties.

Sydney nodded and grabbed Lalo's arm, who was busy flitting around. The problem he encountered. He never saw a skirt pass without pulling a cheap stunt. I blamed this on my dad for spoiling him because he was the last one.

“Thanks, Olivia… I'm so excited” a girl I gave an invitation card to squealed in happiness, so did her friends I handed the cards to. I would have just gone digital with everything, but I loved making funny cards for my birthday. Furthermore, I got help from my best friend Sydney. She was my favorite of all time, and together we did some crazy things and agreed on numerous things except for one. She didn't like my boyfriend and I didn't know why.

“Thanks, Oli… I guess this will be lit,” Blake said, hugging me. He was the famous quarterback of our football team.

Rumor has it that he has a crush on me. For a handsome man like him, he would have. Tall, well-built with dirty blonde hair which made all the women go crazy over him.

Beautiful green eyes and all I could say was. He was a perfect definition of a handsome man and supposedly not my type.

“Aww, you got one for me and I thought…you forgot me…no one forgets me, “Leah said, taking the card as if it were sarcastic. She was the diva of our university who thought the world sounds around him. I didn't even know why I smiled at her.

“Yes Leah…it wouldn't be so classy if you didn't come, “I said faking a smile knowing she just wanted to come to my party and see if hers was better than mine

We exchanged fake laughter like we always did, and I made my way down the corridors. So empty, but soon I heard some commotions and screaming from outside.

Curiosity took over when I found myself heading towards the exit of the main building and once I got outside,

I shielded my eyes from the bright light seeing how the girls were running and screaming as if they were kids. I stood there lost, not sure what was happening.

“I wonder what's happening”Sydney came out of nowhere and stood beside me and I took my puppy from her. Seeing how the roundabout of the front entrance with a beautiful fountain in the middle was filled with students both male and female, my brows arched upwards as I spotted a few cars entering from the private entrance. Only lecturers and special guests used the private gate, although I didn't understand that since it was the same place.

“I see familiar cars… someone's baby is here” Sydney mumbled as she glanced at me smiling and elbowing me. Of course, I saw that, but that wouldn't be it.

I knew he said he would surprise me when I least expected it, but that wouldn't be when he was in another city attending conference meetings.

“Luciano?” I mumbled out my boyfriend's name in disbelief, not just my boyfriend but the handsome young man who was running for mayor this coming election,

and when I spotted a number of men dressed in black suits like bodyguards getting out of the car shielding the black car in front. I knew what was happening.

My heart skipped a few beats as a warm, fuzzy feeling washed over me. Butterflies danced in my stomach, making me restless as I stood there desperate, not sure what to do.

I never got like this for any man, not just any man. The love of my life, who just stepped out of the car in a navy blue slim-fit suit hugging his lean body so perfectly. His black hair was shining and styled just how I liked it.

The way he walked like some boss had me swallowing hard as the girls screamed out his name. Of course, he was famous; he was on every poster across the town.

On TV, in magazines, just you name it. The name Luciano Garcia was engraved in my heart tattooed on my body, and he was the reason I smiled every day.

"And here comes the show-off”I heard Sydney murmur disdainfully, but I was too busy lost in my world to pay attention to her sarcasm. Call me crazy or a mad girl in love because I was.

My prince charming was walking towards me. I certainly was going to me.
