LOGINThe next minute I was in the shortest most revealing black dress I had ever worn, with my hair flowing over my back like a second outfit, standing in front of a club.
I came up with every excuse I could think of just to snake my way out of this, but turning Avery's fantastic ideas down has never been an easy job. I turned back at the sound of a honk to see her all smiles, waving at me. “Have fun!!” She yelled and drove off. I let out an exhausted sigh and made my way into the club. Inside, it was dark, with neon and laser lights sweeping over the club, it was filled with people, but not packed, just the right amount of crowd, with a good number of people on the dance floor, while others sat in the secluded areas, with strippers dancing on their tables. If I want to go through with Avery's plan, getting a new dick, I have to look like I belong, and alcohol always gives me confidence I never knew I had. Twelve shots down and a loud squeal escaped my tongue as I slammed the glass to the table, sending the bartender jolting as we both chuckled. “Hey pretty, mind if I join you,” a hot muscular guy approached me from behind, “You seem like you're having a lot of fun,” he smiled, and ordered four more shots. “So you're vegan,” I smiled back, looking down at his shirt with the inscription, ‘Eat pussy, it's vegan.’ He laughed, handing me a shot, “I like you.” I stretched my hand and hooked his arm through mine as we both tossed our heads back, downing the shot in one swift motion. The next second, we were on the dance floor. The music swallowed everything else, pouring into my veins until it felt like it had replaced my blood. The bass pounded against my ribs, each beat vibrating through my chest, drowning out every lingering thought. I don't know if it was the alcohol or the DJ working some kind of magic, but the music was driving me insane in the best way. Every ounce of tension I'd been carrying melted away, and for the first time in what felt like forever, nothing else mattered and the only thing I was thinking about right now was dancing till my feet hurt. Thank God I took Avery's advice. I kept dancing, letting the music guide every movement, until one careless kick threw me off balance and I stumbled straight into my partner for the night, my eyes flying open as I grabbed onto him, my legs scrambling to steady myself before I could fall. “Are you okay,” he asked, holding me up. “Yeah I'm….” the words stuck in my throat the second my gaze met the steel grey eyes piercing into my body a couple of feet away in the VIP section. “I…I'm…okay,” I smiled at the shots guy. We kept dancing, with my back against him, but my eyes stayed fixed on the man from the VIP, his gaze still stuck on me. Then like I'd been possessed by something foreign, I lifted my body off my dance partner, my legs suddenly felt like they had had a mind of their own, as they led me in the direction of the VIP. “Where are you going?” The shots guy yelled from behind, but I was too focused on my destination to turn to him. I got to the VIP and with a slight movement of his fingers, the bouncers parted, creating an opening for me to where he sat. Now that I was closer, I could finally see him clearly, and the sight nearly stole the courage the alcohol had given me. He was devastatingly handsome in a way that felt almost intimidating. His piercing grey eyes matched his Silver-grey hair, striking against the dim lights of the club, it gleamed like molten steel, making him look both impossibly hot and royal. Power radiated from him in silent waves, and for a split second, I almost forgot why I had come here at all. But I had come too far to turn back now, I walked sensually to where he sat, till I was standing between his spread out legs, as he twirled his wine glass, looking up at me with the most unreadable expression. Then I leaned down, teasing my exposed cleavage across his eyes till my lips were inches away from his ear, slightly brushing it as I whispered. “You've had your eyes on me for a while, what if I say I want you to take this dress off me and give you a better view.” Even I was shocked at the words that had just come out of my own mouth, but I was still on the vodka high to care. I pulled away slightly, repositioning my face in front of him, staring straight into his overpowering gaze, waiting for his response. He signalled for me to come closer with his fingers, and I found myself obeying like I was under a spell, and he whispered into my ears, breath warm against my skin. "You're trying too hard sweetheart, and I think you've had enough to drink.” The heat rushed from my face so fast it felt like I'd been slapped, and just like that, every atom of confidence that had been radiating within me was gone with the wind. My jaw tightened, and I gulped, watching him take a sip from the wine glass in his hand, eyes still locked on mine. I gathered whatever self-respect I had left and turned, going straight to the bathroom, trying to erase the last couple of minutes. This wasn't part of Avery's ‘bag a dick guide’, she said approach any guy you think is hot, but she didn't tell me about the rejection part. I finally found the bathroom after a solid five minutes of getting lost, and slammed the door shut like it was responsible for my rejection. Pacing back and forth in the bathroom contemplating if I should go back into the club or just go home, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and turned to get a better view. I stood there, fingers brushing through my hair, eyes travelling across my face, to my shoulders, and my cleavage, searching for what could be wrong with me, why he would reject me. Maybe I'm not beautiful enough, or hot enough. “Jesus, Hailey what is wrong with you?!” I muttered under my breath, trying to figure out why I was just questioning my entire being because of some weird interaction with a guy I've just met and would probably never meet again. I shook my head, and let out a calm sigh. I'm just going to go back to Avery's. I made my way out of the club, taking controlled steps down the hallway that led to the exit, counting down the seconds before leaving this God-forsaken place when an unyielding force wrapped around my wrist and pulled me to a corner. Trapping me between the wall and his body. My breathing stopped for a second the moment I realised it was him. The silver-haired man. He stood impossibly close, close enough for me to feel the heat of his body and catch the rich scent of his expensive oud perfume. The dim lighting cast sharp shadows across his face, emphasising the hard line of his jaw and the cold intensity of his grey eyes as they settled on my lips. “What are you doing?” I managed to force the words out, even when his eyes locked on my lips was sending electricity through my skin. They finally pulled away from the kiss after what felt like forever.“I had no idea you were coming,” Logan smiled, brushing the strands of hair from her face. She had the brightest blonde hair I had ever seen, bright enough to know it wasn't natural."I know,” she sighed. “We agreed that I was going to let you handle things over here on your own, but I really missed you. Or don't you miss me too?” She asked, pouting like a baby. Her accent screamed old money, and if her outfit alone didn't convince me she was from wealth, her accent sure did.“Of course I do my love, being with you makes everything a thousand times better,” Logan smiled and they kissed yet again.Seeing him being all smoochy with her was setting me off completely. If they're going to be so touchy with each other do they really have to do it somewhere as public as this? Without caring that someone else was right here? I wanted to leave, I wanted to pull my gaze away from them, but I just couldn't. It was like my fe
My heart was thumping so hard against my chest I could barely breathe.Logan on the other hand didn't appear fazed.I gulped, the air suddenly felt heavier.“You have a brother?” I asked Avery, trying to conceal the uneasiness in my tone.“I never told you?” Her brows furrowed.“No.”“That's odd. He's never around anyways that's probably why it never crossed my mind to tell you, but you know now, right?” She smiled, and I managed to force a smile back. Not only was I having an affair with my boss, now he turns out to be my best friend's brother? Can this situation get any messier?I took a deep breath in, steadying my emotions, the chair suddenly felt too hot, too uncomfortable and all I wanted was to leave, but I couldn't afford to act suspicious. Our food arrived and the three of them caught up on what they've all been up to as I ate, giving occasional smiles at them and throwing in one or two words into the conversation, counting down the time till I could leave.Avery started talk
*****Elara's Pov*****~~~“This is the CEOs office," Emily said as we walked into what could easily be the most spacious and sophisticated office I had ever seen. Then she led me to a door just beside the couch positioned by the wall.“And this is yours.” She said, leading me into the second office. “Yours is connected to his for easy access since you'll both be working together most of the time.”I looked around the office, completely stunned. The space was modern and elegant, with dark wood finishes, cream walls, and a polished stone desk that looked like it cost more than my yearly rent. A pair of leather chairs in a protective plastic wrap sat opposite it, while a tall bookshelf neatly displayed a few tiny sculptures, books, and decorative pieces. Everything was spotless, expensive, and perfectly arranged.“If you need anything, you know where to find me,” Emily said, and turned to leave.“Wait!” I called out, and she looked in my direction.“This office, has it been used before
*****Logan's Pov*****~~~My fingers brushed over the strands of her hair I'd taken while she slept, and beside it lay the pair of underwear she'd left behind at the hotel. Or rather, the pair I'd made sure she left behind. Strange that she never noticed it was missing. Convenient for me I must say.I scrunched up the strands and lifted it to my nose. The faint citrus scent of her shampoo still lingered.Hailey Caldwell. There was something about her that refused to leave my head. Most people were easy to read. Give me five minutes in a room with them, and I could tell exactly who they were. Their ambitions, their weaknesses, the lies they told themselves. But Hailey, Hailey wasn't like that.I've been trying so hard, but every time I thought I'd figured her out, she'd do something that contradicted everything I'd assumed. It was as if she deliberately kept the real version of herself locked away, letting everyone see only what she wanted them to see.I caught a glimpse of the cra
“Don't you dare talk to me like that!” I warned. For a second I almost regretted my actions, convinced I just lost my job, but his next words proved otherwise.“Do it again. I dare you,” a sleek smile played on his lips.I didn't even stop to think before hitting him again, this time stronger than the last, but it surprisingly felt good. The way his eyes darkened, clouded by something predatory, like he was getting some form of satisfaction from this aroused my need even more. “Again,” he commanded, taking a step closer to me.I hit him one more time, but the sting that shot through my palm sent a pulse of heat surging within my core, one that had nothing to do with anger. My desire flared so suddenly it caught me off guard, drowning out every rational thought until all I could focus on was him, and I pulled him by the collar, dragging him closer, and crashed my lips against his.The fire burning inside me was already too hot to ignore, it needed soothing, and he was the only one t
Forty five minutes later, a black Escalade pulled into the parking lot and he came out of the driver seat, wearing black satin pants and a black button-placket long sleeve T-shirt with an umbrella on one hand. I met up with him at the door, and he led me out, shielding me with the umbrella until we got to the passengers side of the car. He carefully opened the door and I got in, then he shut the door behind me.His car was warm, and he definitely has an obsession with floral scents. He got into the driver's seat and shut the door too.“The pay from your last job wasn't enough to get a car?” He asked, fastening his seat belt, while I did the same.“I do have a car, it's just out of reach right now.”Deep down, I was hoping he wouldn't ask any more questions, and I won't have to tell him how I ended up stuck in the rain without a car because my boyfriend kicked me out of my own car.He looked at me and my heart almost stopped the second we made eye contact. I don't know how long it's g
