XANDER’S POV‘I pretended to still be into you because I wanted you to leave me alone.’A week later, those words haunted me even in my dreams. I paused mid-way through opening my door and just – I just stared at them. He had his hand around her waist and he leaned down to whisper something into her ear. She giggled some more. His face was bright as if he had just discovered the most precious thing in the world. His eyes were alive, those eyes that I had thought often of were alive because of the girl in his arms. The next morning, I got a call from my father. I was drying my hair after having my bath when the call came in so I took it and put it on speaker. “Hey, princess,” my father’s voice filled the room. “How are you doing?”“Hey, dad.
