Margret squinted her eyes in understanding as she realized why the woman was so frightened, her son was mistaken for Charlie Jnr from the night before.
"Ma'am, this is not Charlie Jnr, this is my son," Margret said in a calming tone.
The nerd middle-aged woman stiffly sat on her seat and quickly registered Caleb and Celestine with her full attention.
"Where should I pay the fees?" Margret asked.
The woman waved her hand and shook her head, "There is no need for that, this school owes a lot to your family."
Margret hesitated, Celestine chimed in "mom, if she doesn't want the fee, there is no need to force her to accept, lets go, we will be late for our classes if we continue staying here"
she agreed and finished the necessary paperwork. After waving goodbye to their teachers, she left the school.
The moment she sat in her car and started the engine her phone rang.
"Klaus, is anything the matter?" she asked, expecting the worse. The voice on the other line said, "Margret darling, you've caught the attention of Sir Charlie Snr. How did you do it? I want a rich and handsome boyfriend just like him."Margret was dumbfounded and her mind went back to last night. She had done something outrageous and embarrassing to a big shot like Charlie."Why did you call? You didn't call to tell me about Charlie, right?" she said, feeling dread coursing through her veins.Klaus replied "His PA John came to check on you and Charlie demanded a meeting between the two of you."
Margret was overwhelmed with fear and started to panic, "Margret dear, are you there?"
Without a second thought she said, "Yes, I'm not feeling well, I have to see my doctor. I'll talk to you later," and quickly hung up.
She calmed her breath and started her car, she drove to Millicent's address, she haven't contacted her friend for the past fifteen years.
Margret alighted from her car, wearing a disguise, she strode towards the apartment that she remembered was occupied by Millicent.
She pressed the doorbell and the door creaked open, an unfamiliar face came into view.
"Good day, ma'am. I am looking for Millicent, she lives here," Margret said, not feeling very confident.
The woman welcomed her with open arms, "Please come in, you can't stand out here."
Margret exhaled in relief, and followed her in "have a seat, let me get you a cup of coffee, I will be right back"
Margret furrowed her eyebrows wondering why the host is too welcoming, she didn't suspect anything.
The woman disappeared inside the kitchen, and whipped out her phone, she made a call.
"A lady is here looking for Millicent, I think she is the one from fifteen years ago," she said into the receiver.
A deep voice responded from the phone's speaker "tell her that you don't know about the whereabouts of Millicent, we can't let the two of them meet for now"The call ended, brought two cups of coffee and served Margret. "who did you say you were looking for, Miss?"
Margret replied hastily "Millicent, Millicent Ferguson"
The woman thought for a second before telling Margret, "Miss, I have never heard of such a name. I only moved into this house when it was put on sale by a housing agency. The identity of the seller wasn't revealed."
Disappointed, Margret asked for the details of the agency. The woman nodded, went into her room and came back with the information that Margret needed.Margret thanked her and left for the agency. After meeting with the receptionist, she was allowed to meet with the manager.
"Hello Miss, you are the one who wanted to see me," the manager said cautiously.
"Yes, sir. I would love to inquire about a house put on sale fifteen years ago," Margret said.
The manager furrowed his eyebrows and replied, "Miss, we don't reveal the identity of our customers. They always demand total confidentiality, so we can't help you with that."Margret narrowed her eyes at the Manager, feeling he was hiding something. "Are you sure about your decision, sir?"The manager nodded, his expression guarded. "I didn't want to do this the hard way, but since you have refused to cooperate, you will hear from my lawyer."
Before he could say anything else, Margret stood up, ready to leave. Seeing her determination, the manager quickly changed his tone. "Miss, fifteen years is a long time. Why don't we sit and talk about this? I'm sure I can give you all the information you need. There's no need to be rash."
Relieved, Margret settled back down in the chair and the manager gave her the ultimatum of four days. She thanked him and provided him with Millicent's house address before she left the agency.
She felt a presence in the street and turned her head to find a fleet of expensive cars parked near her. Four muscular men clad in suits walked towards her car.
"Margret Owen, come with us," one of them said in a stern voice.
Margret had learned martial arts when she found herself all alone with her children overseas and had now reached the level of a master. She adopted a defensive stance and the men realized she was about to attack them.
"You could run away, Margret Owen, but what about your sons? Can they defend themselves against us? We have no intention to harm you, come with us," they warned her in a cold tone.
Margret knew they weren't going to hurt her, so she agreed to go with them. As they drove down the street, she realized they were driving in the opposite direction of her home.
Margret was taken aback when she heard the emotionless burly man with the cold voice order her to cover her head. Hesitating for a moment, she reluctantly did as he said.
The man said nothing as the car drove on. After a few moments of tense silence, he finally broke it with a sombre warning: "You should not think of running away, the only way your sons will survive is if you come with us."
"Stop him!" Chloe commanded her men.Despite his valiant efforts in exchanging blows, Charlie Jr. was unable to force his way through and was kicked back. As Chloe's men continued to charge forward in overwhelming numbers, Charlie Jr. fought his way out of the room, growing increasingly fatigued. However, when Chloe's men grabbed hold of him, Charlie Jr. desperately struggled to break free, his chest rising and falling with exertion. Despite his fierce resistance, the grip on him proved too strong to overcome.Chloe looked at him condescendingly as she sneered, "Junior, amongst your brothers, you are the most foolish; who are you to make me work for you?""Boss, the helicopter has taken off," one of Chloe's underlinings informed her.A huge smile appeared on Chloe's face, and she said with a tone and gesture of generosity, "You may let him since he wants to watch his lover explode."As soon as Charlie Jr. was released, he appeared to lose his mind. He repeatedly muttered Stella's name
Stella's lips twitched at the sight of Celestine's dismissive attitude. She hadn't expected him to treat her like a nuisance. "That's hardly a welcome," she retorted, rolling her eyes.Realizing his mistake, Celestine tried to make amends. "I'm sorry," he said in a calmer tone. "Please, take a seat."Stella nodded and sat down, but Celestine remained silent, unsure of what to say to her. After five minutes of awkward silence, Stella grew impatient. "Are you going to say anything?" she asked.Celestine shook his head. "I don't know what to say," he admitted.Stella's frustration boiled over. "How can you be silent now?" she exclaimed. "You promised to be with me forever. You promised to marry me. And what about our vows in the field that day? Were they all meaningless to you?"As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and her anger turned to hurt.As soon as Celestine remembered who Stella was, his expression changed dramatically. He hung his head low and apologized, "I am sorry."St
Stella's mom initially thought that Charlie Jr. and Caleb wanting to marry her daughter would be good news. However, her joy turned into despair when she realized that Stella was caught in the middle of three brothers."Follow your heart, Stella," her mother said, shaking her head. "I cannot make any definitive statements about this matter because your partner is someone you will be spending the rest of your life with."Stella furrowed her eyebrows as she contemplated her options, deep in thought.****Charlie Jr. drove aimlessly around the city, his mind in turmoil after leaving the bar. Eventually, he found himself at the field where Stella had taken him before. As he sat alone, he gazed up at the moon, his heart heavy with longing for her."I wish you were here with me, Stella," he murmured, his voice soft. "I know you want me to move on, but I can't. I just can't."After a while, he stood up and made his way back to his car, his thoughts still consumed by his feelings for Stella.
Stella was torn. She knew that if she didn't act, the situation would only get worse, and she couldn't bear the thought of things spiralling out of control. Summoning up her courage, she took a deep breath and spoke firmly."Charlie Jr., I have to be honest with you. I'm in love with someone else, and I don't think I'm the right person for you," she said, her tone serious.Charlie Jr. shook his head and replied, "It doesn't matter who he is. I love you, and I won't stop loving you. My feelings for you won't change."With that, he got up and walked away, leaving Stella to watch his departing figure with a complicated mix of emotions. As Charlie Jr. exited the bar, he spotted Caleb seated atop his car's bonnet, smoking. The two locked gazes, and Caleb extinguished his cigarette before standing up."Why do you persist when she's made it clear?" Caleb asked, his tone frosty."Her rejection doesn't change my feelings or my desire to pursue her," Charlie Jr. retorted, his own tone equally c
Celestine's expression turned grave, and he whispered, "Isn't that considered treason?"Madame Agnes affirmed, "Yes, but that's not our concern right now. Your task is to intercept the mercenaries and safely escort the X country minister to Houston.""When do we depart?" Celestine inquired, turning to Butler Mark."Right away. We need to set up an ambush," Butler Mark replied."I'm ready," Celestine declared, and Butler Mark turned to leave."Wait," Madame Agnes called out to Celestine, causing him to pause. She looked at him with a serious expression. "Your safety is of utmost importance."Celestine smiled reassuringly and answered, "Don't worry, Mother. Nothing will happen to me."Madame Agnes nodded, watching as Celestine followed Butler Mark out of the house. As they left, Madame Agnes felt a sense of unease. She knew those mercenaries were ruthless and willing to sacrifice themselves for little gain."He'll be alright," she murmured, trying to ease her worries.****After finishi
"Tell me about yourself and your brother, Celestine," Stella inquired of Caleb.Caleb let out a sigh, unsure of how to feel about the situation. He couldn't help but wonder if Stella had known the truth all along - that he and Celestine had been acting as one person while he was pursuing her. "Let's find someplace quiet," he suggested to Stella, who nodded in agreement. They left the mansion and got into Caleb's car.Meanwhile, Charlie Jr. stood outside, watching them drive away with a cold expression and clenched fists. He was infuriated by what had just transpired.Caleb drove them into the busy city, eventually pulling over at a peaceful location. They got out of the car and settled down."I'm sorry for deceiving you," Caleb said apologetically, "I know you must have found out everything. I was young and foolish."Stella's heart skipped a beat. She had suspected the truth, but hearing it from Caleb made her realize that she had never truly been in love with him. Instead, her feeli
