The room was dead silent except for the clink of cutlery and DJ's loud chewing. His lips smacked with every bite like he hadn't eaten in days.

Cameron stared down at his plate, playing around with his food with the fork. His beast still stirred beneath his skin, growling with rage at how Alpha Nolan had treated Luna Peaches. He couldn't forget the sound of that slap or the way she didn't even flinch afterward. That kind of silence spoke volumes. He knew she was beaten on the regular. He hated men who put their hands on women.

Peaches kept her head low and moved her fork slowly through her eggs like nothing had happened. Her face was calm, but there was a stiffness in her shoulders. Cameron could see it. She wasn't okay. None of them were.

Nolan must've felt the tension too. He finally set his fork down with a sigh.
