"If that's what you want."I refused the urge to look at him, still shocked and trying to process his words. Is he playing around? I had to make sure because why would he give in to my demand? When I asked him in the beginning I wanted to work, he brutally declined, crushing my dreams for which I worked so hard for years. I even ran away from my house even after when I couldn't stay away from my mother, but I knew I had to do it for my mother and myself."Would you?"I asked again because I wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing things.I felt him regarding me with his eyes for a while."Have I ever lied to you, Elena?"But you hide I forced it down my throat as I almost felt excited, but forced it down because he wasn't doing me a favor. It was my right from the start, but I realize it now that my heart is broken by him. How stupid was I to fall for him when I clearly warned myself? He had already played with my body and used it against me.Maybe my heart was always meant to be broken.
Elena's POV'I felt every fiber in my body paining as hell and I don't know why that is. It's been a few minutes since I woke up and found myself on the hospital bed.The fruits were placed beside me on the table. I was surprised when the doctor said I was admitted yesterday and woke up today. When I asked her why it was? In response, she said, I was drugged, so it was probably of that.I didn't dare to ask from her more. I was still traumatized from the event where I was tied to a chair inside a nasty basement with no way out, not to mention the old psycho. I didn't expect Devis to be evil, but to forget that I always got bad vibes from him since the beginning.Watching the emotionless look in his eyes when he tortured Devis was too much for me to handle. I just couldn't. That day I watched the real him.....Him turning into a monster like I called him that day. He proved me right. Now I couldn't look him in the eyes. I was starting feel for him before he made me numb with his past.W
The door shoots open while the whole area was surrounded by non-stop firing, making Elena shiver. A sighed in relief after looking at her husband. The door exploded inward with a thunderous crack, splinters flying. Dust and smoke rolled through the doorway like a wave. Devis didn’t flinch. But his men did—guns raised, shouts barked. And out of the smoke came Vincenzo.Black coat. Black shirt. Eyes like gunmetal. And a pistol in his hand, steady as death.“Let her go.” he said, his voice a growl edged with steel. The two guards hesitated.Devis didn’t.He raised a hand—calm, like a man conducting a meeting rather than a hostage standoff.“Son,” he said, voice smooth."Lower the gun. This doesn’t have to end in blood.”Vincenzo moved slowly, deliberately, his eyes locked on Elena. Her chest rose and fell in shallow breaths. She lifted her head slightly at the sound of his voice — hope flickering behind bruised lids.“You chained my wife.”Vincenzo said.“Fucking drugged her. Hurt her an
"Track my wife before I blow out your heads fuckers."Vincenzo yelled at his men in the digital room. Ever since he heard his wife was kidnapped, he was out of control, and it's been twelve hours since she went missing. He was still recovering from his mother's last footage when his wife went missing. All in one moment. He still tried to mask his emotions. The digital was a mess in itself as Vincenzo unleashed his anger on those non-living things. He was so close to shooting one of his men who tried to piss him off."Play the last footage of Elena."He ordered before focusing on the screen when Elena came into view. He saw her tear-drenched face, making him clench his jaw as she left their bedroom and descended the stairs, nearly bumping with one of his men. They communicated before he led her out of the mansion, making Vincenzo's blood boil."Who the hell let her out of my fucking mansion?"His men gulped in fear, sensing the ragging anger lurking in their boss's threatening voice."
Author's POV'"Did you get the deal with Francesco Cavallaro?"Devis asked, making the eyebrows on his son's forehead scrunch as if he was thinking about something else. It was like he was physically present there, but his mind was somewhere else."Not yet."Devis frowned."What are you saying, son? You should have got it by now. There is nothing you can't do."Vincenzo sighed."Now isn't the right time, Father."He spoke nonchalantly, making Devis confused."What are you saying? Since when did you start to look out for the best time? There is no such thing called time. You should grab the opportunity right now."Devis spoke, making Vincenzo clench his jaw in irritation. He was already craving to go back to his wife, but his father was making it harder."You may not know, but Volkov and Cavallaro are at war. I hope that gives the answer."Devis face turned irritated when he heard that, for him, it was a very important deal which only Vincenzo could pull off."Damn it!"He cursed becau
I stared out of the glass window lost in my thoughts when Martha snapped her finger in front of me, snapping me out of my daze. I flinched slightly and caught her smiling."You are lost."She stated before pouring all the stuff into a soup pot."I was....just--""Now you are even blushing."I felt my cheeks flush. I was at a loss for words. Maybe I still couldn't get over it from last night. It feels like a dream. The way he said those magical words. I just couldn't get enough of it and since this morning I've been blushing like a fool, so it's not a surprise that Martha caught me.From my eyesight, I caught Maria picking up a basket before glancing at me robotically and making her way out."Why is she like this, Martha?"Martha frowned before following my eyes."I told you she'd been a little grumpy from the beginning, so don't mind her."Martha responded."I mean, why is she so detached? I can see the story in her eyes which she is trying so hard to hide. She keeps herself emotionle
