Valen had not even settled in fully at night when someone knocked on his door. He turned to look at who it was soon after the door was opened.

"Star? It's you." Valen said and put on his clothes.

Star stepped and shut the door. She leaned against it and watched Valen sit on his bed.

"Is there any problem? Do you need to see me?"

"If I didn't, I don't think I would be here — bothering you at night."

Because the truth remained that Jethrom was still like a family to her — maybe a distant one but they knew each other.
