Chapter 10

Calithea's POV

I was still doubting even now if I should reply to him with what he asked me. However, I need to. 

“My goals and my mission are simple, Alpha Aiden. All I wanted to do is to live at peace here in your pack so that I won't be starving for death,” his brows arched just because of what I said.

“Is that what you want to do, Calithea? I won't believe you,” my jaw almost dropped just because of the Alpha's words. Of course, I have many goals and missions to do in life. However, I won't tell him about it at this moment. He must know nothing about my mission.

“Why, Aiden? Do you expect more? We are not friends by the way. So, I won't tell you anything.” Aiden grins because of what I said and he even crosses his arms. He looks more attractive in that position.

“Right. We are not friends because we're mates. However, I wasn't interested in you, Mystique. I know everything will end. Not for now, but I will make sure that it will be as soon as possible,” the smirk on my lips faded away because of what he said to me. It seems like I was hurt by the words he told me. I shouldn't feel that way. There is nothing I must get hurt of. He is not and swears that.

“Don't worry because I will make sure it will happen. I don't want to stay that long beside you. Being with you is hell, Alpha Aiden. Your flings are everywhere. I don't put myself in so many troubles just because of them,” I said seriously which made him smirk.

“Don't worry, Calithea. They can't be near you because I was by your side. None of my flings can hurt you, but I can't promise. You should learn to defend yourself and don't wait for me to do that with you,” he uttered which made me sigh.

“Nah, you should not worry about that. I know how to handle myself, Aiden. Don't pretend that you care about me. It doesn't suit you.” I uttered which made him laugh. Aiden just disregarded what I said because he had already gotten inside the car, so I followed him. His beta would be driving us to where our destination would be today. Aiden and I just choose to shut our mouths the whole ride. My eyes were just outside of the window. I didn't want to take a glance at Aiden because I didn't know where he was looking. However, I could feel that he was staring at me. It's a witch instinct. Even if I didn't catch him in the act. However, I know he was looking at me the whole ride.

I don't understand why he does that. I wanted to confront him about why he stared at me, but I'm scared to ask. I wasn't in the position to ask him and also because I didn't want an argument again.

“We're here!” Aiden mumbled, so my gaze turned to him. He got out of the car, so I followed. My eyes wandered through the place and found many houses here. Is this the wolf's territory?

“We are beyond grateful to see you here, King Aiden.” The wolves began to gather in front of us. I could see on their faces how happy they were that their king visited them.

“It was also an honor for me to be here. We are here because we wanted to check the real situation here. How's life here?” Aiden asked and the werewolves began to tell their lives here.

“Maybe you can introduce to us the beautiful girl beside you, King Aiden,” I suddenly felt my face redden all of a sudden upon hearing what the wolf had said. All eyes were on me, so I was already biting my bottom lip right now.

“Oh, before I forgot, everyone… Please meet my mate. Her name is Calithea and she was my mate and will also be my queen later,” I bent my head down because of what Aiden said to his people. I was about to speak when we heard a female voice screaming while she was running in our direction.

“Aiden! You're here too!” The woman said and she even hugged Aiden in front of me. I looked away and tried to control myself. My blood was already boiling now.

Another annoying creature for today. Aiden and she were meant together. They are just making my blood boil. But… 

Why would I be annoyed with her? I should not feel that way because Aiden and I were not in a relationship. Whatever he wanted to do, I must not stop him. But, I am his mate and it is not good for these people to see that their king was having a fling and then I just allow his fling to hug him in my presence. 

I must move and just hope that I will not be embarrassed by what I would do at this moment.

“Hey, you're hugging my mate,” I said, which made the woman turn her head in my direction. I even looked at Aiden and he was already grinning now.

“What did you just call him? Your mate?” The annoying creature asked, so I rolled my eyes. I cross my arms while staring at her.

“Do I need to keep repeating myself repeats? You heard me. Alpha Aiden was my mate. I was destined to be his mate and you're hugging him in front of me.” She seemed to be shocked because of what I told her. The annoying creature turned her head to Aiden and maybe asked him if I was telling the truth. I could also feel the tension between the werewolves surrounding us.

“Is it true, Aiden? This woman is your mate? Come on, tell me about it.” She begs Aiden. On the other hand, Aiden just smirks. He never responded to her and he just went near my direction. Everything was so fast that I never expected it to be. Aiden grabbed my waist and he kissed me in front of them. 

Damn.

I could hear the fast beats of my heart. I didn't know what to do, and I started to panic. However, I used my head. For them to believe that we're mates, I have to answer Aiden's kiss and which I did. I wasn't sure how long we were kissing, but all I know, everyone was clapping their hands except the annoying creature. I was annoyed with her because of the way she hugged him earlier.

“This is unbelievable! How come I didn't know about this?” The woman asked, so my attention turned to her. She looked pissed now while looking at us.
