Se connecter“It’s Alpha from now on.” Amelia was an Omega , Alpha Colton's maid daughter, but the moon goddess had other plans and made them fated mates. For three years, they had been trying for an heir that would lead the pack one day. But the very day she held the positive pregnancy test in her hands was the day her world shattered. Victoria, his high-status ex, returned. With one look at her, Colton’s warmth turned to ice. He became cold, distant, and obsessed with the woman who had once abandoned him and even denied ever wanting to have a child with Amelia. Amelia became a ghost, neglected and replaced. Amelia, realizing she no longer had a place in his life, did the only thing she could: she disappeared into the night, keeping her pregnancy a secret from him. After she left, everything changed. Colton starts seeing Victoria's flaws and everything she did only irritated him more and made him hate her. But Colton’s regret came too late. By the time he realized he had chased away the only woman who truly loved him, she was no longer just a runaway. She had been captured by a ruthless rival Alpha who thrives on cruelty. Now, a pregnant Amelia is a slave in the pens of Alpha Silas, Colton’s most sadistic rival. Held in chains and forced into labor, she is a pawn in a deadly game between two powerful men. Colton is ready to burn the world to reclaim his mate and the heirs he never knew he had, but Amelia is no longer the submissive girl he once knew. In the Shadow-Vale, a broken Alpha must pay his debt. But after the betrayal, the chains, and the blood... will Amelia ever let him be "Colton" again?

I'm pregnant? I stared down at the two pink lines of the pregnancy test. "I'm really pregnant," I muttered with a smile, a ray of joy leaping in my heart. After three long, agonizing years of whispered prayers and medicinal teas, I was finally carrying his child. My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic, joyful rhythm. My Alpha, my mate, my Colton. We had waited so long for this miracle. I was the daughter of Alpha Colton's maid, the girl who scrubbed the floors of the pack house while everyone went about their busy life. I had been in love with Alpha Colton since I came of age. Little did I know that the moon goddess made us fate mates. I was mated to an Alpha. Not just any Alpha… Alpha Colton. My Colton. We had waited for three long years to have a child. The pack members had started murmuring about it, some said it was because of my rank. That my blood couldn't produce an heir for the Alpha because I was too weak. I came from the omega family, the weakest in ranks. But now, I had a miracle. I was finally pregnant with the Alpha’s heir. "He’ll be happy," I whispered to the empty laundry room. "I can't wait to share this news with him" I waited for the car to arrive and when it did, I jumped in and urged the driver to drive faster. I needed to see him. I needed to see the joy in his steel-gray eyes when I told him our pack finally had an heir. But as I reached the pack house and stepped out of the car, the air felt... wrong. The securities at the company gate didn't meet my eyes. They looked at me with a strange, lingering pity. There was also a strange scent, but my senses were too short. I didn't join the training program to train my wolf's senses. However, I ignored them, and hurried toward the Alpha’s office. I didn't knock. I wanted to surprise him. With reserved strength, I pushed the heavy oak doors open, the words "Colton, I’m pregnant" resting on the tip of my tongue. The words died in my throat. He wasn't alone. Sitting on the edge of his desk, her manicured hand resting smoothly on his shoulder, was Victoria. The Beta’s daughter. The woman who had abandoned him the moment he found out I, the maid’s daughter, was his fated mate. The woman who was now back. "Amelia," Colton said. His voice wasn't as warm as it sounded on nights we were together. He sounded cold. He looked at me as if I were a smudge of dirt on his shirt. I froze, my hand instinctively covering my stomach. "I... I didn't know you had company" Victoria let out a melodic, luring laugh. She looked radiant in her designer silk dress, a sharp contrast to my simple cotton shift. "Oh, Colton and I were just catching up on old times. Right, Alpha?" I looked at Colton, searching for the man who kissed me softly every morning. I found a stranger instead. She called him Colton in the presence of someone else, not Alpha. I only refer to him by his name whenever we're alone. "Go back to the cottage, Amelia," he muttered, turning back to a stack of papers. "I’m busy" “The cottage?" I asked, my voice breaking. "What about our home?” My wolf whimpered. The memories of what happened to me when I lived in the cottage came crashing back. My wolf was affected the most because she decided to take anchor all the pain, letting my human side suffer less. The cold floors, the malnourished food, the insults, those were my nightmares. “Why not the cottage?" Victoria's voice rang through. It sounded sweet, but it was like venom to me. "That's where you belong,” I looked at my mate, the one who was supposed to protect me. He didn't even look at me nor say anything. "Just go, Amelia. I'll see you later,” that was all he said. My heart fractured, but I stayed rooted to the spot. I could hear them whispering as I stepped back into the hallway, my wolf howling in confusion. Then, Victoria’s voice rose, loud enough for me to hear through the cracked door. "You know, Ben mentioned that you two were still... trying to have a baby. How pathetic is that?" I held my breath, waiting for Colton to defend us. To tell her how much he wanted our child. "You heard wrong," Colton replied. "We aren't trying for anything" My blood ran cold. "Well, you really should tell Ben then," Victoria chuckled. "I can’t exactly tell him that you got your tubes tied just to make sure that maid's daughter never trapped you with a pup, can I?" The world tilted. I leaned against the cold stone wall, the positive pregnancy test still tucked in my pocket, feeling like a death sentence. He didn't want a miracle. He had ensured it would never happen. So... whose baby was I carrying?Amelia's POV…I was back at the hut. Jaxen was sharpening her knife again. I owed her an apology for my ungrateful attitude earlier. I opened my mouth to say something, but she beat me to it. “I'm sorry about earlier," she said. I blinked. Why was she apologizing? I should be the one doing that, not her. She looked at me. “I took out everything on you and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry about that," I shook my head. “You don't have to apologise. I'm the one supposed to apologise for sounding so ungrateful. I guess I deserved it," She sighed. “All my life, I've always tried to live up to expectations and please everyone around me. Even if it meant inconveniencing myself just to make them happy. But each time, my efforts were never appreciated," “I’m sorry you faced that," “My family… they treated me like I wasn't a part of them. Like I was an outcast… like I never truly belonged. When I found my mate, the Beta of our pack, they wanted to exploit the opportunity so they could rise t
Colton's POV…“You took her to the building site?" I asked. I was in my office and the chief contractor was standing before me. Drew said he might know something. "Yes Alpha,” he answered. "Luna had requested to see the new construction site. I… I couldn't disobey her orders and also, I didn't know she wasn't aware of it,”"Why did you take her there?” I growled, slamming my palms on the table. He fell to his knees. "I'm so sorry Alpha. I didn't know you didn't want her to see it. Please forgive me. I apologise for my mistake,”"Apologies?” I scoffed. "Your apologies fixes nothing. “My mate is miles away from here. Your Luna could be in trouble and you are apologising?" "Alpha, with all due respect,” Drew cut in slowly. "I don't think he's to blame. There's absolutely no way Luna would have gave him orders to take her there and he wouldn't obey," My jaw tightened and my nails dug into my palms. I glared at the man on his knees. “You can go," I said to him. He quickly rose from his
Amelia's POV…Jaxen and I were on a lonely path in search of the leaf that could mask my scent. We were very far from the hut. I don't know how far we've gone, but I knew it was so far that we won't be able to run back there if we got attacked right about now. “How did you know about his leaf?" I asked her. “A female Rogue told me about it," she paused. “A pregnant Rogue," My eyes widened. “What? A pregnant wolf? How come?" “She had cheated on her mate. She was already in love with someone else when her mate found her and she and her lover didn't want to end things so they kept seeing each other and that included intimacy. When she got pregnant, she tried to pin it on her mate. But he soon found out and she was banished from the pack," My mouth fell open as she told the story. She looked at me, then my stomach. “That was the reason I asked if you had cheated on your mate too and then got kicked out," I laughed. “That is so not possible," I wondered if her mate felt the same wa
Colton's POV…I paced back and forth in my room. I couldn't sleep a wink. My nerves were just on edge and I felt very restless. The rain had already started pouring heavily. The lightning came in flashes and the thunder rolled angrily. I moved to the window and looked into the rain painted night. Was she okay? Was she cold? Where could she be? I sat on the bed as thousands of questions flooded my mind at the same time. I couldn't wait for the morning. I desperately needed answers.********That morning…I visited her mansion again, hoping… just hoping to get a positive answer this time. As I got there, all the servants were there… on their knees. What were they doing?“Please Alpha, we're innocent. We know nothing about Luna's disappearance. Please spare our families," they all cried. I watched them all in utter surprise. I was definitely not expecting this. “You take me for a fool huh?" I said, my voice dangerously low. “You think I'll believe this pretty lie of yours?" I thund
Amelia's POV…“This isn't right," the female doctor said. “She shouldn't be experiencing heat anymore," Kyra, the maidservant, had called the doctor and now she was checking me. I was in bed, my eyes shut. “Exactly my thought," Kyra concurred. "I think something is wrong with her and we need to l
Amelia's POV… The banquet had already started but I was still hiding. Some pack members were still outside, and I didn't want to risk them seeing me. I thought I would have to wait for eternity or maybe still… not get to see everything. But then… everyone started rushing into the hall. I wa
Amelia's POV… I stood by the window looking out. Pack members were leaving the pack house and moving towards the banquet hall. The excitement was all over their faces as they chatted along the way. But I was here, trapped like a forsaken princess, waiting to be rescued by a prince in a shiny a
Amelia's POV… “Where are you going Luna?" Runa asked as I stood up and moved towards the door. I furrowed my brows. “I'm thirsty and I want to get water to drink," “Okay," she came towards me. “I'll help you with that. Just sit," I didn't move and she didn't either. She seemed to be waiting
