Alpha Brett's warriors must have nearly sucked me dry. It has to be all the blood draining from my head, causing me to lose my good common sense. I could hardly believe what I had agreed to do. 'What's the worst that could happen?' I had thought to myself. There was something in how Kota looked at me. I knew he wouldn't hurt me. Wesley was at least telling the truth about him being my protector.

I closed my eyes tight. I felt Wesly get off the bed and pull the covers back from my body. "I need to take off your nightgown." He said as if he was asking for my permission.

It wasn't like he'd never seen me naked before! He was going to do as he pleased anyway. He always has. I sat up and waited for him to lift it over my head. I heard him growl deep from his chest. He'd seen something he didn't like. I was afraid to ask. "What is it?" I whispered. "My girl!" I gasped.

As soon as the air hit my chest, my skin started to sting. I knew then what Wesly had seen. Tears floode

  • The Alphas Prize Blood Mate   ~Chapter-106~Going home.~

Wesly After Jake and I had loaded our bags in the SUV, I returned upstairs to find a brown-eyed Bella. I didn't like it at all. There had been nothing wrong with her to begin with. Kota is calling me names, all of which I deserve. I had one last thing I intended to do before we left. I hoped it would show Bella my feelings for her hadn't changed. I went over to my dresser, opened the drawer, and removed the purple velvet box from its hiding spot, holding it tight in my hands. I haven't touched the golden amulet since I hid it away the day I moved in. Paps gave one to each of us kids the day before William's Alpha ceremony. He'd told us the wolf on the front was watching over us. Of course, I never had an Alpha ceremony. I rolled my eyes at the thought. 'Let it go!' I thought to myself. I set the box down and opened the hinged top, taking the amulet from inside and rubbing my thumb across the wolf's face. I was going to miss my grandpa for sure. I am now regretting not spending

  • The Alphas Prize Blood Mate   ~Chapter-105~The shame is on you, Alpha.~

It has been a long day! After training, Jake and I sat down and reviewed the upcoming weekend's warrior assignments. I made a few adjustments that I thought were necessary. I wanted to be sure Jake had the best on our frontline in my absence, just in case. I called Danny and told him I would be gone for a few days. He knows how to reach me, but he will hold down the fort just fine at Bad Dawg. Now that everything has been taken care of for my pack, my brain is empty except to focus on the next few days. It is been a while since I have dwelled in the house of Harris. The last time I was there, I was just a disappointment. Now, I can add the family exploiter and abuser to the already long list of my failures. I am sure all will have a good time. The other issue giving me a damn migraine was how I was going to explain the victim of my exploitation and abuse to my family. Well, Technically, I have already figured it out, but I haven't shared the plan. The truth was not an option a

Annabella I didn't like the way Wesley had left me this morning. His emotions were still raw and all over the map. I had thought about going with him, but he told me he would be busy most of the day getting his pack ready for us to leave for New Moon. I was sure that was true, but something else was also weighing on him, and I had a distinct feeling it had to do with me. I am trying to keep myself busy as well. I am now thankful all over again for the clothes Wesly bought me. Outward, I will look the part of a sophisticated Luna. Hopefully, no one will know about the scared little Trentity hiding inside. It seemed as though Wesly and I were about to step into the lion's pit with a bunch of snobby hypocrites. If that is the case, I can see why he doesn't fit in! In my eyes, Wesly is second to none. I was sure his family and I would have a difference of opinion about that, though. It was already taking everything I had to keep Wesley somewhat level. The closer it came to time for

Annabella Wsely came through our door as if a hurricane was chasing him. I could see he'd been crying. He didn't stop moving until he'd scooped me up from the desk and pressed me closely to him. I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. "My grandfather passed away." He finally tells me. "Wesly, I am so sorry," I tell him. With his words, I could feel his hurt and grief like it was my own all over again. I tried to pour my strength into him. "We will leave here in a couple of days for my brother's pack." He said, and I felt a chill run through him. "I need to sit down," he said, moving us over to the bed. "We are going to your family's home?" I asked him with a mixture of fear and curiosity. He sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead. "Yes, my grandfather will rest on my parents' estate." Though he tries to block me, I still get bits of his thoughts. Besides being crushed by the loss, he also feels inferior to his family, as if he is their black sheep. I don't like that. I don'

Wesly "Wesly honey, your grandpa Leith passed away this morning." She told me. I could tell she'd been crying by the cracks in her voice. "His services will be this weekend. I hoped you could be with the family as we say our goodbyes." "What happened to him?' I asked her, trying to keep the emotions out of my own voice. "It was his heart, Wesly. He died in his sleep. Layla says he most likely didn't feel a thing." She said as if the fact that he didn't suffer was the bit of faith she was holding to. I go silent as I clench my jaw. I have always considered my Grandpa Leith, aka Paps, indestructible. He was like the rock of the family. He and I have always had a special connection, mainly because I was always the odd man out, and he loved an underdog. My mother had often called us 'partners in crime.' The thought that he could be gone from me was ridiculous. There must be some mistake! "I will be there," I finally tell my mother. "Is there anything that you need?" "Just you

  • The Alphas Prize Blood Mate   ~Chapter-101~A fitting fairwell.~

Wesly "He's been this way for over an hour now," Jake tells me when I meet him in the dungeon. Brett is lying on the concrete floor of his cell with the chair on top of him still tied to his body. He is foaming from the mouth, half growling, half screaming, and mutating slowly between his wolf and human forms. Apparently, he can no longer hold either form steadily. I had set out to see if he could get as good as he gave. I wasn't sure he had. I did have to admit, though, that old Brett has lasted longer than I gave him credit for. Kota is now thrashing around inside me, pissed because he never got his pound of flesh from Brett. I sigh at him. It's too late now. I still don't believe the punishment fits his crime, but it was time to put the Alpha out of his misery either way. Jake and I walk up to his cell. "Well, Brett, it's been a good time," I say as Jake loads the revolver with two silver bullets and hands it to me. "I am gonna miss you, Brett," Jake adds as I take dead ai
