Agnes stood outside the building, preparing to enter. She let out a deep sigh, perhaps she was again entering that mysterious lion's den! The huge building was impressively decorated with glass work. She reminded herself that she was there for a murder, to hunt her prey and knock him down for what he'd done to her. Agnes settled her loose green dress, which came down to her knees, covering her thighs and hiding her beautiful figure in that looseness. She tied her hair into a ponytail, looking professional yet graceful.
Agnes took the steps towards the entrance with confidence and delicacy, with the files of her qualifications and other basic information tucked to her chest by her bare hand. She strode through the hall painted in white, reaching the reception. A pretty girl was on call managing the entries of people and providing them with the needed information. As the call ended, she wiped the sweat off her forehead and looked up as Agnes spoke.
"Excuse me. I'm here for an interview with the boss for the role of his secretary."
The girl looked into her eyes and stood still for some moments staring at Agnes. Then suddenly she held her hands and said, "Thank God you're here. The boss was going to fire me after 5 minutes on the next call if you were more late."
"What? But I'm on time."
Agnes looked at her watch.
"Just 2 minutes above! And he was going to fire you!"
Agnes looked surprised.
"Ah yeah. He's a bit strict about time."
The girl waved her hand in a manner like "it was a daily scolding".
"Oh, I see. I'll be careful."
Agnes let out a weak smile, but she did like that girl.
"So Miss. Agnes, right. You have to go through the elevator up to the 5th floor where the boss is waiting for you."
"Okay. Thanks"
And Agnes headed towards the elevator, pressing the button to the 5th floor.
But wait!
Something was wrong!
Her vampiric senses suddenly got heightened. That scent, that sweet scent, was attracting her towards the source. She inhaled that sweet human scent deep within her. She felt like it circulated in her blood, and she found herself getting addicted to it. Who's scent was that?
Vampires are best at controlling themselves and their thirst for blood, but now, at that moment, Agnes wanted that person all to herself. She was craving for their blood. She never wanted a human, never ever. But now that scent was overcoming her senses, and all she wanted was that person.
Inhaling the delicious scent, she tried to control herself. Luckily, she was wearing lenses to hide her eyes as they change color every minute. Otherwise, anyone in that elevator could've seen her red eyes, vampire eyes. But she was alone, as the elevator stopped and she stepped out.
Walking through the silent corridor, she could still sense that scent, and with every step, it was getting stronger and more delicious! She didn't want to hurt any innocent or kill them just to fulfill her craving. It was forbidden, and moreover, she was a princess. It wasn't her to do such a terrible deed.
Clenching her fists tightly and digging her nails into them, she knocked at the door when someone's heavy but tired voice struck her ears, and she stepped inside the cabin.
[Jairus’ POV] I didn't know what had happened to me. I guess it was really her. But why was she here? What could be her purpose? Perhaps she remembered me and that night too. Was she there for money or for some bigger purpose? So many questions popped up in my mind when she entered my office. Despite her different appearance, I recognized her. She was wearing a loose green dress, but still looked pretty in it. Her face was calm, but her expression was serious. It was the first time I saw her eyes; they were a beautiful shade of green. At first, I couldn't speak when I saw her. I didn't know if it was fear and guilt that overcame me, or if I was happy to see her again, safe and sound. But whatever it was, I was okay with the flow. She was standing close by in front of me while I kept gazing at her face. I don't know why, but at that time, I was ready to accept her if she wanted me to do so. My thoughts stopped running when she spoke and I came to know that she was there for a job – a
[Agnes’ POV] I started the day brushing my teeth, licked my fangs which I use to trim every three days. Moving the brush on my teeth I thought about yesterday. "What was happening to me at that time? I was just being drawn to him. Yesterday I controlled myself almost successfully. But how could I do this everyday if I have to be under one fucking roof with him?" Confusingly I questioned myself in the mirror knowing that something was definitely suspicious about that man. He was still alive after sharing intimacy with me, which itself was a big question because that should not happen. As a vampire my dark core should have sucked all his energy and the man should be dead by now. But he was still alive and kicking which made me curious, what made it worse was that peculiar aura coming from him. He was not a human but not a vampire either, his energy was something else which drew me towards him. I had the intentions of killing him at first but that scent which made me lose my control pr
Agnes went to the company and was assigned many files to study. She was given a table next to Jairus, and they sat silently with their heads buried in files. [Jairus POV:] I was glad to see her again, happy, or more than that. I arranged a table in my cabin for her right in front of mine so that I could see her whenever I lifted my head without getting caught. She was working diligently, studying each file carefully by placing her fingertips upon every word. I peeked through the corner of my eyes from time to time. She was beautiful, heavenly. Although I didn't know her, I guess I fell for her. Oh heavens, I was in love with her. Since when? I don't know, perhaps that night or perhaps yesterday when she came to me for a job. Should I tell her about that night and apologize? It was a tough question, though I didn't know about the circumstances. I think I'd wait since she doesn't remember me. If I'll tell her, it's quite possible she'll hate me. I'll make her fall in love with me. Ye
That night was strange for both of them, they thought about their feelings. What the hell they both were doing or feeling regarding the whole situation. Because none of them had been talking to each other in true sense. However, they both seemed to have grew either cautious or shy from each other which hindered the whole possibility of conversation. It was not easy to pretend normal while staying by each other's side and for such long hours. Agnes came to her apartment, turned the lights on and strode towards her room threw herself on bed upside down. She exhaled a heavy sigh while thinking about what happened in this past week she became confused. Nonetheless, she shook her thoughts and got up, slipped into her loose sleeping dress she untied her ginger hair, removed her lens which she bought to conceal her changing eye color. Agnes stared in the reflection, her iris changed color from green to brown to black and golden, all within these two minutes! She gazed at the girl in the mi
[The next day:] Jairus was feeling awkward working in that deadly silence. He wanted to talk, actually, he just wanted to listen to her voice. He thought of many reasons, but all of them were not going to work. (Ah! Love makes people do and think stupid, right?) At last, he got the perfect thing to talk about. He went to her desk and asked in a polite tone, "Miss Regena, how's your hand?" Agnes, who was controlling herself in that addictive atmosphere, stooped from her chair and was about to fall when Jairus scooped her into his arms at once. Where Agnes was trying to stay away from his scent, he came this much closer that his aura was overcoming her vampiric senses. She wanted to bite him! Resting in his arms, it was easy for her to reach his neck, but she was in love. To control her dangerous desires, she covered her nose and pinched the sides of her nose with fingers! "Yy yes, boss, my hand is okay. I'm sorry." She struggled and reminded him to put her down, still covering her n
When the craving for blood becomes strong, the senses heighten and the vampire sets out in search of prey. What will happen? Agnes was sweating profusely, wearing a sleeveless shirt and loose trousers. She wiped the beads of water from her forehead with her palms. Her mouth craved a gulp of blood, but only a little blood from Jairus! Vampires are cold-bodied outwardly, but they're more like humans in many ways. Agnes was trying to control herself, but it was tough. She sighed and inhaled the air, but her mind clicked upon his aura. She wanted him, and that was it. She washed her face with cold water, but what could coldness do when the inner was burning like magma? Her instincts heightened; she wanted to taste him now. It was beyond her limits to control more. But due to the fear of hurting him, she tried still, a weak try though. She went to her bedroom, lay down, but she was restless, or perhaps more than that. She stood up and started to roam around her room quickly. She stopped
Why endure the pain of longing for love alone when you can enjoy it by sharing? Dressed wholeheartedly Agnes stood in front of the mirror she was swaying with her heart filled with happiness. The air was dancing with her along the romantic rhythm of her heart. She felt lively for the first time. She had been feeling happiness. “Gosh! I cannot believe that he took my name.” Put on the sherry coloured gloss, the brown lens and let her red hair open which were falling down the length to her hips. “Was he thinking about me in his dreams rather than his girlfriend?” Her curious eyes gazed over the breathtaking reflection. Anyone could fall in love with her, Jairus was just one man! Hiding her breathtaking back in that hazel coloured skin fit dress, Agnes stared at her reflection once again and smiled lively. “If so then I hope it was a wet dream! Hehe~” She could not help but become happy over the fact that he had been thinking about her lately. It did not matter to her anymore what he h
Within the elevator they both were quiet Jairus was still holding her hand and Agnes was staring at his face without any idea of what was happening. She looked at his face sneakily while the man had been keeping a straight face not caring what had been happening around them. ‘What is he even doing? Is he taking me somewhere to confront me or what?’ Agnes was in her own worry not knowing what had been ongoing in his mind. However, something more was about to happen which Agnes had never thought. The woman glanced at Jairus’ hand which was in her hand and she could feel warmth coming from it. ‘His skin is so warm like humans. He definitely is a human but how did he survive my touch if that is the case?’ She was fully aware that no human could survive a vampire’s touch. Agnes was still immersed in the thoughts when the woman felt a strange sensation coursing through her veins. Her skin prickled as she looked up around in that small enclosed elevator, feeling a sense of longing she coul
